  1. I'll lend you the money if you could get someone to buy me that aircraft carrier up for auction there. Damn, I was gonna say somethign about that, but you beat me! Alas, the auction is down.
  2. Firefly was great! I, too, lamented its passing. I, however, liked fastlane too. I like McG's directing work on it, and the writing wasn't too bad. Plus, lots of guns, cool cars, and chicks. What's not to like?
  3. I'm more interested in seeing one with five gunpods.....
  4. Well, it's 2004 now, so, happy New Year to everyone!
  5. Sah-weet! Where can I get some?
  6. The Scouring of the Shire was filmed, and will be in the EE. It was cut because the movie was thought to be too long, but it was shot anyway. Reports conflict on whether it was filmed and cut in post production, or was filmed to provide material for the EE.
  7. I have only one thing to say in G-Savior's defense: Star Wars Holiday Special.
  8. The only situation in which Drift is faster is on extremely sharp DOWNHILL corners. I stress downhill, because it's gravity that allows the cars to maintain speed through a drift. Autocross is a flat sport, hence the lack of drifting. There's one exception, though. Keiichi Tsuchiya has proven to be able to drift faster than he can grip. And just to put his grip speed in perspective, he's won Le Mans. He's beaten top-rung pro drivers using drift, while the other drivers gripped. This is the true reason Tsuchiya has earned the title "Drift King". Oh, by the way, a Stock Car HAS drifted! Tsuchiya became famous for drifting in a Japanese stock car race. And even more insane, he drove as a guest driver in a NASCAR race held in japan, and, of course, he drifted.
  9. Actually, it probably couldn't. The ones used on SMGs are specially designed Tactical Slings, which have a second strap that attaches at the back sling point and then attaches to the other strap at the middle. A regular sling only can cause trouble when moving, as the long strap will cause the end to move.
  10. Did he work on Armored Core as well? It seems odd that the mecha in Zero, a Kawamori work, would be so strikingly similar to those in AC, another Kawamori work, and yet not be designed by Kawamori.
  11. Man, where have you been? Don't you remember the "hide the nosecone" fiasco?
  12. The video defenitely doesn't show Akina. Why? Because, while everywhere else is real, Akina is actually not real. It's really called Haruna. What's really cool about haruna is that everything is there. The Gas Station where Takumi works, the Family's Restaurant, where the racers meet, and, yes, even the Fujiwara Tofu Shop, with its distinctive awning, albeit all with different names.
  13. Putting anything Macross into the background is a horrible idea. My dad's Art Director on JAG, and I've been trying to get him to put something macross in, I was thinking along the lines of the "kite" or UN SPACY on a fighter. But if HG spotted it, they'd go insane. Anything in a movie has to be cleared to make sure there's no copyright, and Macross stuff won't clear. However, my dad has it set up so that any electronic items bear the Anaheim Electronics logo, which isn't trademarked!
  14. 41.02564 - Major Geek. A little exxageration, but that is mage up for by the things that aren't on the test. (Like my figure collection)
  15. Don't forget the fires, riots, gangs and smog! Meh. Riots- not in 10 years Gangs- they pretty much keep to themselves Smog-it's really overrated Fires-middle of nowhere And the quakes- don't even wake you up. I've got stuff that falls over from me walking into my room sometimes that didn't have any prioblem here.
  16. Trust me, you wouldn't want to. My mom really likes christmas, so she gets us stuff. but the rest of the year, eternal PMS. Plus, this is kinda the last christmas we'll do like this. I'll probably be gone by the next one.
  17. Hey, I suck at driving myself (well, I can RACE, but I can't drive in traffic..), but I love flying! So have hope!
  18. Hmmm, let's see..... I got a whole bunch of stuff that's related to my car: Craftsman Mechanics' tool set Craftsman Rally tool box Panasonic CD stereo with MP3/WMA (my car has NONE at the moment, the seller took it out) Brookstone detailing kit Audigy 2 ZX sound card, but I need to trade it in because it doesn't have to optical out for my surround sound Japanese style wood/paper lamp Jacket (but a hella nice one, from Fred Segal, so it must have cost a lot) $50 certificate for Amoeba Music 1/24 Calsonic Nissan Skyline R33 kit And $200 cash But unfortunately, nothing Sci-Fi or Anime. In fact, I'm kinda depressed because I didn't get anything I can really use at the moment! Don't really have any car projects, plus it's been raining on and off. And I'm afraid the rewiring on my stereo is above me. But at least I'll go get a replacement sound card this afternoon, And I think I'll but a new vidcard, too. My Ti4200 is starting to show its age, a Radeon 9600 should suffice as a replacement. Wait, I did GIVE one sci fi related item: MG Gogg for my brother. (He's a big MSM fan)
  19. Even bootleg anime....it depends what it is. For example, Initial D. Tokyopop did such a horrible job that it makes RT look like a faithful translation. Anyone who buys the US release tokyopop versions instead of the HK versions is an idiot.
  20. Ya that would be me. I hate EVA but I love RahXephon. Probably one of my all time favorites. Same here. I couldn't get past an episode or two of Eva. But I keep going out and giving ADV my money for RahXephon.
  21. Anyone know where I can get a new one? That piece disappeared some time ago from Max.
  22. Yeah, I think I'm gonna call the Gunny and have him come beat up whoever forgot the Marines! Seriously, though, i'm thinking about the Army. I took ASVAB and got a 96, so I can do just about anything. SO I'm gonna hold off for a while and get my civillian helo license, which will help me get accepted into the Army helicopter program, so I can be an attack helicopter pilot.
  23. Yeah, and also illegal.
  24. Not true. Anyone can get a CWP. It's just very hard, as you have to prove that you need one. So, people like judges and public officials are able to get them, as are people whose jobs necessitate it, like high lever repo-men and bounty hunters. Some average Joe can't get one without supplying a reason, though. Oh, and, by the way, it's cyanide.
  25. It's been known for quite a while in the ID fan community. It's due this spring, and reports say everything is on schedule.
