Now, perhaps. When the file is complete, I intend to pay Tage for a copy of it and sit on it for a while. By then, 3D printing might be cheaper and have better resolution, and Kurt might be doing customs again.

Don't forget the vernier thrusters. They can probably put out sufficient thrust to stabilize flight for a while, wing or not. -

Wow, Tage, you're going from strength to strength! Well done! I think the nose is as good as it's going to get, I just think the canopy is just a bit tall or bulbous. As for the fast packs, try rare Earth magnets. Small, cheap, strong.

Actually, that's the best tribute they could have done. If you explore, go off the tour routes and away from what is known, and venture into "what's over there? I want to find out!" you come into silence, and a simple and powerful memory of two crews who absolutely had "the right stuff". You are richly rewarded for your curiosity, and simultaneously reminded of the terrible price that must someday come due for that curiosity. Well done curator!

Lord, the F-16 has so many bumps and warts and gold-plated crap hanging off it, it's almost unrecognizable.

One last thing about the X-32: they could only build one. IIRC, Northrop had so much trouble curing the hand-laid CF sheets that made the wing and upper fuselage that they only had one prototype kinda ready by the deadline. And yes, before it could demo VTOL they had to rip off its intake lip and install big, non-stealthy, thrust vectoring nozzles. Finally, it looked hideous. Northrop promised the production 32 would be quite different from the prototype, which maybe isn't the way to build confidence in your initial design.

Cars 1 was a real love letter to car culture. Cars 2 was crap, but I did like that Michael Caine played a secret agent, since I think I remember he was originally supposed to play James Bond way back when.

Remember when they were horrifying, monolithic, unstoppable and relentless? Their goal inflexible and resistance was futile? Yeahp. Something had to be done with them, but the direction chosen was... surprising at best.
