    Lord I hope not. Why couldn’t they have done Dragonlance? If Tolkien is the Rolex and Ferrari of fantasy fiction, well, those are two excellent brands to be associated with. Are there better watches? Yeah, but Rolex is still truly excellent. Are there better cars? Umf... nnnno.

    On Switch, Doom is locked at 30fps, handheld and docked. They added some motion blur to add to the sense of speed, and it works pretty well.

    Kawamoru really admires the Skunk Works’ designs, doesn’t he? The SR-71, F-104 and F-117 were all lovingly remade into VF designs. Be interesting to see which designers have their portraits in Kawamori’s studio.

    What happens when executives call the shots. They weren’t wrong, Walküre got the yen rolling in as it was designed to do, but this wasn’t the Macross show the first 12 episodes had promised.

    We all thought Herman was gonna buy the farm in the first few episodes anyway. In the original pilot it seemed he had an entire pineapple grove following him. I was mildly surprised he made it all the way.

    And a couple more: Oswald Boelcke flew in combat a Fokker Eindecker with THREE Spandau machine guns - it was so heavy and slow he gave it up after only a couple tries. Then there was Adolf Galland, who bitched so hard about the Franz-type Messerschmitt 109’s downgraded armament (lost a 20mm cannon compared to the previous Emil) that the factory sent him a special Franz model with the original armament.
