  1. LOL and then some I stopped competing in 2000 and my stuff is antique now compared to the latest, back in 2000 it was cutting edge sponsored handouts.

    Option Decals

great the two sets that I haven't got will soon be mine
  4. Make your own. get some wood (MDF is best) have it cut and sanded by a wood butchers and buy some acrylic rod and cut a length and use a hair dryer to warm it and bend to the shape you want drill a hole in the stand and an accompanying one in the botom of the plane etc and et voila. I painted the bases with krylon plastikote and the look alright. I got my acrylic rod on eBay for not alot of cash and the MDF was free off cuts that were going in the bin. the cutting was done as a favour by the Cabinet makers next to where i used to work. so all in all I only paid for time and paint.
  5. Great work :) Over the years I have always though that some one should have done armor that would fit on the 12inch ActionMan (GI Joe) figures. the ride armor has always been a favorite of mine.
  6. I have a 50ltr tank and it fills up quite quickly so the noise is kept to a minimum add that to working in the Workshop at the bottom of the Garden and im ok. The bigger the tank the longer you can go between fills but the bigger the tank the more noise the pump makes generally. But any compressor that is suitable for airtools (like mine) with the right adapter is perfect for air brushing.
  7. Nice one Bandai Bring out the old stuff again, and don't bother updating. Anything Bandai commited to new Macross products "my arse" nothing new here I will just keep my old ones thnaks.
  8. I found that Halfords white plastic primer is nearly as good, you just got to remember to put it on thinner as it builds up quicker than MR Surfacer does. (Halfords is a UK Automart like AutoBacs, think car parts in a superstore with Stereos and byclces etc)
  9. Ditto I have a couple of the 1/6 versions of this but they need load of subltle work to get them right so, oneday someone will get it right.
  10. Nicely done there.
  11. Ive had the same happen to me and I have found that using it as Mechtech, Berttt and AZrhino sugested works the best.

    Sizes!!

Thats one of the pit falls of 20 year old anime and SciFi. nobody ever kept accurate drawings and plans back then (with the exception of a certain Californian based film producer), nowadays its part of the process. You know that there will be countless companies wanting action figure rights, and model companies wanting to build the ships and vehicles etc. Macross was not alone I Recall several instances of size changing in TF`s Bumblebee was always changing scale. In the real world, modeling and toys you'll never have this problem as there are examples of the real items and nowadays cad drawings to build from, plus the Manufactures will sue if you don't get the representation of their product right.
  13. That`ll fly out of the door I recon. although 40,000Y may be a bit steap though for most peoples tastes.

    My first VF-2SS

Such a nice looking mech. Its a shame they were never really popular with the manufacturers, Hasegawa would do a great job on this. Great work by the way.
  15. Errmm we do !!!
  16. Defenatly looks transformer-ish with the slight gloss to the paints. Nice work

    SDF-1

Great work 007 So the word is don't bother with the 1/5000 if you want detail then. Which one is the best scale for detail.
  19. So true
  20. Working with the older less well made kits will certainly brush up your skills and probably create new ones for you at the same time:)
  21. Post some pictures of your work. I think the bells should be yellow with a bit of metallic in them to give the slight reflection of a metallic finish without the full on gold look.
  22. LOL No really what I meant was that the Zentradai fleet turning up was something familiar SWI original Macross, think of it as that comfortable pair of shoes that just feel right, I then thought hows this gonna work with the Basara angle. no more power and might of the military, maybe some major league culture shock. Then the credits ran Still I for one liked Basaras songs.
