Im waiting for my first kit too. It`s a RX21 Hazel custom. [attachmentid=39811] Anything particular I should know about it ? Or is it just put it together etc.

Not so sure about the exclusive-ness but as boots go these are well made. About the same as a Joons for build strength. Teh moldings are different as there are some extra bits cast on to give it a unique look. They come in a few different colours mine is dark blue and sliver. I have also seen a red and sliver one. Just another one to add to your collection. I paid £10 for mine not bad when you think the real bad boots (the ones I use for my customs) are about £5

Silver Dragon is looking at doing some of the things on the list. Has anyone got any more ideas. I have thought about 1/48 head recasts, with a slight mod to the way it attaches to the valk they could be used on 1/55`s. The size difference is not that much as the 1/55 head IMO was always slightly oversize. They are more detailed and Anime acurate. What do you all think ?

I stand corrected Thanks for the info. As long as they dont try and redo the sound track and add naff weapons sounds etc.

I have some similar problems with some resin cast parts I have warm water has sorted them out. I never had a problem with wings so mostly. I have not had to weigh down warmed up resin. Im interested to see how this turns out.

Well I cant say for definately about Yen vs US$ prices but definenately cheaper from my U.K POV. Yammie 1/48`s work out at about £50ish the newer ones may be more now you can find CSM`s for 399Y other stuff is cheaper too. Transformer Binaltechs for about £10. Just look arround and never buy it as soon as you see it if its a current item, as just arround the corner you`ll find it a few bucks cheaper. Just checkout the stores in the area you go to then go back to the one you liked the price from best.

Regarding the whole disapearing and reappearing body parts in the Cartoons. Now I whole heartedly agree that the Anime magic crown should go to Transformers, but IIRC there was an episode that had an Insecticon whose weapon materialized into his hand with a nifty sound affect. This says to me that there could be some sort of matter control. If SoundWave can produce electronic fields that can crush matter to produce pure energy then simply magicing up you gun or squishing your atoms into smaller spaces cant be too hard. So the one real beef about size dosent really stand. The only real beef I ever (and still do ) have about Tf toys Vs the Anime is scale of the toys. 20 years it took to get a range that had an actual scale (BT/Alts) even when I was younger I though that that was a bad thing. The truck that made up the main part of Menasor was suposed to be the same scale as Optimus for example but as a toy it was silly as he was tiny Every body except for Megatron and say Soundwave and other size changing bots should have been on the same scales cars and trucks the same scale and the planes should have had their own scale. I know for sure that everyone would love a 1/24 Starscream But who now or back in 1984 could have aforded one. Saying that they didnt want to deal with the dimension size shift is a bit lame and a slight cop out. Giving the bots cool new alts is great, modern vehicles will mean something to everyone watching. Afterall you can explain away most things in Hollywood. Im warmed by the fact that M.B has spent the gross income of a small country on this film so hopefully he will get his cash back and go on to do more TF stuff. Im just not so sure about the head thing. I need a face that I can love or recognize. Maybe not the old heads but something humanish. Im sure with time I will love them all but at the mo they are a bit cold to me.

Sorry about the delay in posting some meaningfull update on this but with Xmas and my Kitchen building, I havent had much time for the project. I will hopefully post some progress over the weekend.

Yeah Skulls method for thighs is by far the most simplest, and efective. There are others but all are more work and not really any better. If you want Anime acurate then you need to do more work (trust me there) check my thread in my sig. If it`s just good old posability vs playability then Skulls your man no competition.

This is the holly grail of the 1/55. If we could get this one nailed down, it would be great.

A good idea but I very much doubt that DRYL will be up to that as the Definition of the original will not be high enough. More likely would be Mac+ or Mac 0 as these are newer and the in the case of zero it was made using computers and is a much higher resoultion, some of Mac + was also done with computers and its likely that the masters of it will also be of a very high resoution. Sadly for DYRL and SDF Macross these were made in the era of hand drawn frame by frame production and therefore added to the 20+ years age of the originals would cost a lot to do. More likely with these two would be some sort of work like the original Clean up work that ADV did fitting them onto one disk etc instead of the usual 9 disks or so for SDF Mac.

LoL love the Jetfire legs I have a pair that are so bad they look like they are in negative without the stickers. Good thing is when you add some paint it all goes away

Yeah the G1 stuff was originally gonna have people in it hence the seats on some of the toys (e.g Roller). My bro found a pattent aplication filed by Takara for a transforming Gun, in the early 80`s which is Megatron Albeit some slight changes. In the pattent it shows a 3rd mode with a figure sat in a seated position like a gun turret sort of thing. If any ones bohtered I`ll try and find the print out of it and scan it and post it.

Cool display cab will fit as is The particular one I was building for my Hasegawa 1/72 stuff has shelves big enough to take Binaltech Transformers and they are bigger than 16.5 cm.
