Living next to the world famous Festival Theater I do get to see and some times meet quite a few famous people, most peole in my town kinda get a bit blasé to the whole thing. Most of them you`d probably not even know as they are famous in the U.K but I did meet Tom Seleck some years ago when he was still doing Magnum, he talked to me for about 20 mins, and only when some assdrunk idiots started shouting "Tom Tom we love you", did he leave, but he thanked me for being normal and sighned my Cap for me. Met a few people and such at the Festival of Speed the other year. I do know the members of the band Hope of the States as I knew them before they got all famous. About 12 years ago I used to work in a resturant that the Players from the local soccer teams ate at, when ever the Press got wind of it they would hang round outside trying to get pictures. We used to throw water on them to get them to go away, That was more fun than actually talking to the players. My uncle knows David Arnold (the composer of Stargate etc) I met him one day and at the time didnt know who he was, until my uncle said, then I was so anoyed that I didnt ask him some stuff about his music. Also I have met the Queen twice and the now former PrimeMinister of England.

As for what forum I think we should just have one for all this sort of stuff. Like a how to and look what Ive made sort of thing. then if others have ideas or the know how they could chime in or build their own. Where can I find out more info on such a thing ?

I though the fan made series stuff was good (five year mission) Once you got used to the characters new looks they were alright. Bear in mind these are fan made and better than some big production Co stuff. Keeping it real and in the old spirit of the TOS. Not too cheesy and no OTT FX. If the film can capture that then it will be O.K

OPPS ! I forgot. O.K I have scanned the sheets and stiched both pages togoether to make one (Strike Vf-1S). I have a 600 dpi image thats around 6megs and a 300 dpi one which is a bit smaller. The 600 dpi you can almost see the individual ink dots on the page, its huge, if you have plenty of memory in your computer it shouldnt be a problem. PM your mail addy and I can bung you the files. if you still need the vf-1J ones I`ll grab em out of the attic.

I totally agree with MechTech thats the tried and tested method for me. Works on everything from toys to MP3 players. When a manufacturer makes it hard to get in, it just makes me want to get in to it more. If they all just used screws I`d lose interest real quickly.

There are one or two places in the U.K that sell Macross stuff, but these are of no use to you if you have to travel miles and miles to see them. Most of the places I have seen tend to sell the stuff at highly inflated prices. I know I have been somewhat spoilt by prices while in Japan. But sometime when you go to a shop and they havent even bothered to take off the price tag for the shop in Aki that they bought it from, and when asked tell you that they buy from that shop to supply themselves. Well after that you gotta ask yourself why bother and just get it from source or some seller on eBay. who`s gonna pay £75.00 for a reissue Bandai 1/55 Hikaru, when you can get em on eBay for half that and in Japan even cheaper. A while ago the Millia QRar was selling for a song in Japan. Didnt get one then at the same time I saw Max Qrar`s selling for double the Millia prices. whish I`d got that then too. For U.K prices I dont think you did too bad. Just do as I do, If item + p+p = more than you want to pay dont get it, sooner or later another will come along.

My brothers firm just got one for his department and they use it for mock ups of the parts of MRI scanners which they design. My bro has said that he can maybe slip in some really small bits in jobs occasionally with out any bother but that I`d have to draw them up for him as he usually hasnt got the time. I was thinking of doing some small bits like hands for 1/55 etc and may be a head for the Skyfire 1/55 scratch build I was planning. should be a few firms arround the area that will have the right gear, its just a matter of finding one that will do it for you. If my brothers company would rent out the time etc he`d get loads of work for it.

If only you could get motobikes like in Venus Wars. How cool would they be. My friend is always moaning about the cost of tyres for his bike, Probably something to do with all the doughnuts he keeps doing, but I think he`d go for one of those.

Yeah I had though that but as its kinda getting hard to come by I`d be worried that I would mess it up some where and not be able to replace the parts. At least with the Wave stuff its easy to cast your own as that is essentially what Wave did in the First place. That said I have a plan that involves the Vf-17, a bucket of plastacine, some molding supplies and my wave kits. But that cant happen until the summer for warmer weather and lighter evenings, oh and my finishing the Chunkie and the ZX.

Thats why I so love traveling on Virgin Atlatntic they class the laptop as business equiptment so it`s not added to your bagage allowance. Add that to the fact that in Narita Airport they never weigh your bags properly going back and you can get away with so much. Last year I came back with nearly double my allowance. Did get back ache from standing in arrivals for 1 hour though while waiting to go through passport control. Those air india flights every time I go to Japan we come back in behind an Air India filight or a Jamacan flights. Heathrow Customs seem to love em. Who brings back half a lamb carcase in hand lugage anyhow ?? by the time we get through they are like great someone sensible from somewhere sensible, no need to check his bags.
