  1. I see only one thing wrong with this: it needs a lower half
  2. Meh. Gonna pass on these; they look like Joker chain-sawed them apart, then tried gluing them back together or something...
  3. I would consider trying to mask off parts of it and after main painting, using a small brush to get into the areas spray can't get to easily. It sounds like trying to disassemble the head would be a major pain and risky at best.
  4. Yeah, they may as well just put a neon sign that says "DANGEROUS END HERE, STAY CLEAR A-HOLES!!"
  5. Thanks guys; was going to do a destroid, but kind of low on just about everything right about now. Christmas is pretty bombed-out this year, seeing as I failed both of my exams for the A+ cert and we're pretty much in "survival mode" about now. All I can say is "FML"....
  6. I think at this point, it's going to be up to all of us to "move" the Star Wars world, whatever version, trilogy or universe we prefer, in the directions we want in our minds, hearts, "personal canon" and stories we tell. To each their own, and while I dislike the prequel and sequel trilogies, that doesn't mean others cannot like them. On that note: my friends and I years ago had a Star Wars RPG campaign going (West End Games' D6 system), and we created characters for that that pulled from the EU as well as the prequel and original stuff. Now that our GM ("Game Master" for those who don't speak RPG) is getting back into it, he likes stuff from all the versions and is planning on incorporating the best from them into his own storylines. We devised our own characters for it, and well, for us, "canon" is pretty much what we agree it to be. It also led me to build my own lightsaber hilt out of actual metal (whenever I get back on my feet, I plan a light-up set of blades as well):
  7. Movie call-signs: "Maverick", "Phoenix", "Paladin", etc. Real-life call signs: "Mooch", "Sparkles", "Vermin", etc. On that note, I found this site: http://www.f-16.net/callsigns.html
  8. Well, it does describe the quality of the crap they're tossing into the comic. If Robotech is a soap opera, that would be it's name.
  9. More like As The Stomach Turns...
  10. These are the tools I work with: Admittedly, they aren't much, but they're what I have. (aside from a Dremel tool with 4-5 bits total). From left to right: Pin Vice, Triangle Needle File, Flat Needle File (what's left of it), Xacto Knife, Hacksaw Blade, Burnishing Tool (Xacto), palm Phillips Screwdriver, Flat/Phillips Dual-Ended Screwdriver (Red Handle), Polycarbonate Cutting Shears, Sewing Scissors (broken at tip and reground), Large Needlenose pliers, Small Needlenose Pliers/ Wire Cutters. And I use them to build stuff like this:
  11. Gives new meaning to the term "Where's Waldo?"
  12. I think you should try selling them; those would be a gold mine for anyone doing customization ( wouldn't have minded those for a couple of my projects, but cash is short right now due to a family disaster!). And SpaceCowboy has some good advice indeed. Speaking of which: Yeah, I saw those SDF-1's and it irritated me. 80 is too much for them IMO, as they're pretty busted up.
  13. I HATED THE CREDITS!!! IT RUINED THE WHOLE THING FOR ME!!! THEY NEED TO REMAKE THIS WITH BETTER CREDITS AND GET GEORGE LUCAS TO REWRITE THE CREDITS SCRIPT!!! rofl
  14. Wow! Some sharp work there Thom! Really looking forward to seeing this bird finished up! That reminds me: I found a tutorial on painting/weathering Navy craft a while ago on ARC forums that I have yet to use!
  15. That's why I said what I did about him: " Seriously, a remarkable actor; I've seen his work in several shows and movies. He will definitely be missed." He really was good, and did a wide variety of roles. I think Odo was some of his best work.
