  1. Yeah, there's a movie Disney really should do a remake of.
  2. ROFL!!! That is just AWESOME!!!
  3. Not to mention Puke himself wouldn't want to go, for several reasons. One being that unless they could heal him of the damage done to him, he'd be pretty much useless.
  4. Which took no time in hitting on all the other ships in spacedock whenever it docked.
  5. O.O
  6. Okay...you folks asked for it:
  7. I think we just stepped in some plot. Can I get a garden hose to rinse it off my shoe?
  8. Picard Trek II: The Search for Plot. Either that, or he convinces Starfleet to send every ship they can with a water cannon to put out Mars.
  9. LOL yeah... guess they couldn't be bothered to even consult Memory Alpha, huh? And that would be charitable, as ships would be constantly "popping" from subspace pulses, given that subspace isn't exactly inert. As for Su'Kal: this guy should probably be in the Q Continuum, given that range of powers.
  10. The way they explain Dilithium in the ST:TNG Tech Manual is: (Page 60, Star Trek The Next Generation Technical Manual, Rick Sternbach and Michael Okuda, Pocket Books, 1991.) Basically, the Burn would have had to disrupt the EM field specifically within the dilithium. Shouldn't something as large as the Burn have disrupted ALL EM fields PERIOD? Why just dilithium? Since it's the crystalline structure exposed to EM fields that allows it to regulate M/A reactions, how would that go "inert" unless the EM field was deactivated? (Just questions posed to the stupidity of DSC, not you Seto. )
  11. That's what I mean: it would cost less to simulate masking tape than electrical tape, that's how shoestring they're running it! Good point. Sorry, I was too busy laughing at Discount Spock. ROFL!! Right?
  12. They probably: - Changed from covering the backdrops in electrical tape to covering them in masking tape; - Convinced the cast to wear clothes from home to save on wardrobe costs; - Begun substituting cardboard models for the CGI; - Cut costs on sound effects by having the SFX crew yell "PEW PEW PEW!!!" onstage during filming; and - Cut budget on SFX further by substituting phaser fire effects with silly string. They cut corners any further and Paramount will sue CBS for violating the fan production rules that state all fan productions can only be 15 minutes long!
  13. The original's pupils? Dunno...probably lazy painting on their part.
  14. That $600 (both me and my wife's) has to go to our landlord to pay for what we couldn't give her for rent these past several months, and then we still owe her. But rather than get into a long, complicated explanation that would further derail this topic and reveal much more info than anyone should (or cares to) hear, I'm going to take the opportunity to shut up and exit stage left. Thanks for having me folks; see ya in the Workshop section. -pb.
  15. With how tight money is right now for folks, I think that glut's not going away anytime soon. I know with my family's current finances, affording one is out of the question big time.
  16. Hey, no worries: I cannot brush paint with enamels to save my life, yet folks swear by those as well. It's as I always say: your mileage may vary. Really starting to wonder as our generation ages, that modelbuilding will become more rarefied and ebb with our passing? I'd really hate to see that happen...
  17. Yeah, but DSC managed to hit the motherlode with this stupidity. Too bad they couldn't make this guy emit radiation that made Picard inert...
  18. It sounds to me like they ran into another element that is ruining Star Trek: Bullshitium. They probably store it right next to the Explodium....
  19. I like a good enamel "base" color for projects that won't easily scratch or ding, and then do details and secondary colors in acrylics. I prefer the acrylics' not clogging my lungs with fumes and such: breathing is a priority to me (silly, right? :P ). On another note, I decided to change my pace a bit with a figure painting project. I recently found an old Superman plastic figure from 2006, but forgot to take a before photo, so here's a pic of an in-package one to give you the idea of the starter for this: Anyways, wasn't a big fan of the face, hair, the chunk o'cape that could deflect artillery IRL and the sloppy "s" on the chest. Also, the colors are just drab on steroids and almost reminded me of "Evil Superman" from Superman III. I prefer the brighter colors and look of Superman from the 1980's comics when it comes to the comic version. Well... never tell a pengbuzz something can't be done... I chopped the plastic cape off, filled in the holes in the back, and redid the hair (amazing what some hot melt glue can do!). I then repainted the main suit in Apple Barrel Academy Blue, and drybrushed it with 95% Academy Blue/ 5% White mix. For the red, straight Apple Barrel True Red, and the yellow was 95% Apple Barrel Yellow/ 5% Apple Barrel True Red (to knock down the brightness). The "S" was completely redone by hand and was the hardest part of the figure. Custom mix of flesh color for the skin and black w/ blue drybrush for the hair. The cape was some old red fabric that was kicking around: I cut and measured it out, re-cut it to a half-circle, cut-in the indent for the neck. After washing the cape and using an Iron to press in some folds, I then drilled holes into the chest/shoulders and stuffed and glued it into place. Still need to do the yellow "S" symbol on the back... I'll get to that later.
  20. "Briefly go inert"? So... EVERYONE using Warp Drive that depended on Dilithium just assumed all of it was bad and not just "temporarily out of order" for a few centuries? As for Burnham: the should have just named her Mary Sue Burnham and been done with it.
  21. I wonder if they'll simply reintroduce long-used colors under one unified line ("Testors")? I know Testors is now owned by Rustoleum corp. (check the label):
  22. Gotta love picclick! I use them to find stuff I need without spending a fortune (when I have the money to do so!). Really thinking about this for my long-dormant airbrush ( a gift from my folks years ago).
