Maybe the casings being the size that they are when they pop out empty may have enough weight to do some damage if ejected in the wrong direction. So maybe even lefties get trained right. That and I think a lot of the controls are set by computer memory for complex arm and leg movements, so it may be more point and shoot with an on screen reticle, at least with the old school tv suits. The movie and later series have thicker arms and legs on the pilot suits which seem to allow for more personal control between the pilot and machine. either that or they listened to the stereotypes set by the first Star Wars movie and felt that a left handed military might not be able to hit their targets
  2. A bunch of kits went up on the U.S. p-Bandai site. The only one I wanted though is the Efreet Jaeger. Not like I really need another efreet. I hate the color, but love the sniper. I’ll have to figure out a color that will look cool. Maybe a dark green with instead of the purple
  3. I think I’ll pass this one up. I have the little minipla version and I kinda have a feeling a hgish posable kit will come out for it soon. The sirbine had a look that wouldn’t be easy to match any other way than a static kit, not that the Bandai hg doesn’t try.
  4. I think I’d rather see a story about the Zentradi vs the supervision army as a side thing or maybe even a story going way back to their creators, but I don’t know if that could be made with the awkward licensing on either side of the ocean. But maybe I’m wrong since things are getting a bit more open as far as what’s allowed
  5. Judging from the parts it may be a mix. It looks like some old parts from the battroid and some new ones for the armor. I don’t have the kit in hand so I’m only going by the instructions images
  6. Seems that the manga was to retell and expand that story and to forget the anime episode that everyone seemed to dislike. When I watched the original series it was a version that didn’t include it and I don’t think I ever saw it. I appreciate the fact that those older gundam shows made it to the states, but I really wish they hadn’t altered them like episode count or opening and ending themes. I remember being super excited for zeta and then the songs were missing from the opening and just had dramatic music
  7. The problem with this show getting renewed is that most of the people that finished the first season didn’t like it and most people either checked out the first episode and then didn’t come back or people heard from word of mouth that it wasn’t worth it at all. If it just wasn’t popular, but the fan base was all in then it may have been renewed
  8. So far I’m really liking Hawkeye. It’s definitely a simpler kind of story and more grounded than most of the marvel stuff, but it works for this character. And I find myself saying bro too much these days after watching the show, not sure if that’s a negative or a positive
  9. I love the hmr. But I think I’ll like the look of the kit more. The knee joints don’t have the Bandai compromise that puts the joint through the armor. And I always feel happier about a kit than a prebuilt toy. I think that the only thing missing on the kit is an opening cockpit, but I was more worried about the articulation before seeing the crouching pictures. Now the worry is that with all those extra tiny joints in the knee construction, will it be able to hold the weight? I would hate to snap off one of the guns or multiples
  10. Yeah, I’m impressed with what I’m seeing. It looks great and poses well, it may be too small and may be on new years diet from too much turkey, but compared to some of the line art it looks great. I was just looking at some of the line art and most of the regults are kinda from the front angle and don’t look out of place with the kit. Other art and screen shots make the new kit look a bit thin, but given all the inconsistencies this kit looks like it’s fine and should be fun. It’s a good thing it has a stand Incase any of those joints are a bit weak. Hopefully it’s nice and stable. I can’t wait to get mine in the mail and hope the scout and missile versions come up soon
  11. There really was some nice work by all that entered.
  12. So I think the knee joints are here part #2 and 3 and it looks like it has one point of articulation towards the back and one at the front and there’s a deep notch cut into the front to allow even more space to bend. I’d have to see the instructions to get a better look, but I think it’s just clever folding of each joint segment. There appears to be a quadruple knee joint as opposed to the Bandai double
  13. Nice job and nice prize
  14. Did they actually do an extending gimmick to get that knee bend? The dang thing looks great
  15. A lot of the old 1/144 kits are getting re released as four packs. They’re pretty cheap and some really don’t look that bad. I may pick up the basic set for the baddies
  16. No, was he in there?
  17. When I first saw the title of the thread I thought it was an overall discussion about the studio, then realized it’s about one movie. To be honest both probably work here.
  18. I might be more interested in those if they had the pilots. There’s probably gonna be a ps version with all the extras, but the question will be if they get released as a pack or individually
  19. Seems every passed a while back, but the reviews still come from writers that he helped pick on his self named website
  20. The last I heard he had a stroke and face surgery , so he had been staying out of the spotlight. There are still reviews that had been under his name for a while. I’ll have to remember to look up his current status
  21. If the regult is more like 1/100 scale, I wouldn’t be too disappointed. I would just use it with the wave kits. As far as the armored Valkyrie, it’s not perfect, because of the way they are making compromises between the idea that their Valkyrie would be designed for that armor instead of using anime magic to enlarge the feet and hands. I think since they are more of a realistic model company, they chose a route of consistency rather than fantasy. It probably wouldn’t be too difficult to find and modify some rounded gundam hands and add some plastic sheet to widen and lengthen the feet. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some cool customs of it after it gets released
  22. While jet in the anime wasn’t as dark skinned as some of the other characters I always thought of him as black and the live action version of him in the outfit and with his voice seemed perfect for me as far as casting. Faye didn’t start out as a lesbian in the live action version, but I think the moment she started questioning herself had to to with that awkward tree scene. I mean accidentally giving a tree a happy ending probably would throw everything into confusion. honestly the only character change that truly bugged me was vicious. I also don’t think we needed so much background. As far as anime Americanized adaptation I actually liked the Ghost in the Shell movie and my favorite would hands down be battle angel. Maybe battle angel worked because there was so much story that never got animated that it was more of a comic adaptation
  23. I’m not sure why there are so many color changes on those. I used to think of it as each ship had a standard color and then the commanders got customs, but I really don’t know. The q rau had a few variations of color in just their first couple of appearances. The regult and glaug seemed standard in the series then the movie versions of things had other colors that seemed based on rank for the armors
