So to show the differences in yf-19 to vf-19 and the YF-21 to VF 22 here’s some pictures you can see the majority of the joints are the same on the 19’s, but the outer armor has a lot of minor differences. The wings and stabilizers look the same though. Actually the wings look a bit different as far as the YF-21 to YF-22 everything other than the face and possibly the wings are the same
-
I’m sure the vf-22 will be on the way. It looks like a simpler change from the existing yf-21 then the yf-19 to the vf-19
-
Probably different colored sprues. If a part needs a couple tones of gray an off white and maybe a clear piece then they’d be on separate sprues, but would be used to make up one part to limit the amount of painting needed. More similar to how Bandai has a lot of color separated parts.
-
There’s a bit more like the shoulder detail as well as lower legs. I’m gonna have to take a look at the artwork to see what else, but I believe the internal parts and joints are the same, but may just need the outer armor changed up here and there.

Hikaru has his 1-j up for preorderlike the recent kits, it has both stickers and decals. Just need them to do a gerwalk kit. As a bonus, in the second paragraph of the kit description it says “The model is also extremely erotic.” Not sure what they mean by that?
-
I’m pretty sure they are just gonna reuse the ones from the yf-19
-
That one did have a sleeker fighter and is close in scale although might still look a bit big. The yf-19 definitely looked better in battroid mode and I’m pretty sure this will as well since it’s going to be fairly similar.
-
Or the upcoming hg kit for the battroid. Honestly the battroid on this doesn’t bug me as much as I thought it would. The arms are definitely too thin, but I’d much rather have thin arms than thin legs. It kinda looks like the forearms are a bit wider from the side angle rather than a circular tube shape. I’d probably buy it if it wasn’t so big and expensive. I don’t really have the cash or space for it. I kinda wish they colored the prototype in the magazine picture to give a better look at it in fighter mode, it looks a bit off but may be more of a coloring issue. I’d still leave it in the battroid mode if I were to buy one
-
It’s probably gonna use quite a bit from the internal parts some of the outer armor may transfer as well
-
I figured that would be soon. They’ll probably also do the vf-22 as an easy release as well. Still hoping for a vf -11
-
I really wasn’t too interested, but after seeing more of the little dude I’m definitely more tempted. I might just cave and buy it even though I have too many scopedogs as it is

It’s for that Macross fleet that had a 1960’s, 1970’s revival.

I love that box art style -
If you have it build it. It’s one of the most fun builds for a model I’ve ever had. You don’t even really need to paint it and I don’t remember any parts needing seams puttied. It gives a feeling like you’re actually building an armored trooper. I think the pilot figures are the only things in there that need any major work

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau

Honestly after watching the latest season, the show was far better when it didn’t have as much story. The writing gets so bad and side characters just feel like they’re in the way. If they had good enough writers to keep a long form story going, then it could have been better, but since they didn’t they should have stuck more to a bad guy of the week formula. I really hate how stupid the bad guys are in the last season. It made the two scouts that couldn’t aim seem like geniuses. And I’m also hating the hijack episodes they’ve been using for filler. I could have cared less about that guy that knew how to to cloning. That was the most pointless episode of the entire series. I’ve only gotten a couple episodes in on Ashoka so far since I’m just not that interested in Star Wars stuff lately with all the bad writing and waste of good talent. I’ll finish that one off one day, but I just don’t feel motivated at this time- 1438 replies

Mak kits are much smaller subjects. The base kit is just a power armor with a monster for the backpack. I’m not sure if the intent is for this to be a small human in the mak world or a makeshift large zentraedi suit in the Macross world. But it’s more likely just a dude with an awesome backpack. A good majority of mak subjects are just human sized power armor and the majority of the designs were all kitbashes of different models to make something different and this one is no different in that the base model was already designed as a kitbash with more kitbashing using the monster as a backpack. -

It’s eventually gonna have to land on something. It would have to be super careful and slows on returning to a ship. it does look cool though -

That’s a lot of weight for this lil legs. -
That’s how it was for me as a kid. I had a very small group of friends that knew about it, but no one else either heard of it or they didn’t like the show. We had quite a few comic shops and those comics were instantly in the bargain bin getting discounted more and more as the years went by. We also had a few gaming shops and Robotech had very few players compared to D and D Or Battletech and many of those players thought the mecha were fast originals and everything else came after. I do wish Robotech had been more popular, but it really wasn’t. I think Harmony Gold clinging to the brand with such a tight grip hurt them overall. If they had struck better deals early on they could’ve marketed themselves as a company that was able to bring the rest of the Macross franchise overseas, but they have become a mostly forgotten relic. When the 90’s anime popularity hit they were behind the times to bring thing’s forward. They did a couple runs of Robotech on tv, but the new generation of anime fans weren’t as happy with stories being changed from the original and they would seek out the original versions of DBZ, Sailor Moon and Macross as best they could. If harmony gold did things right they could have been in better shape. Now they just have increasingly worse comics and have to rely on toys that most people are buying because they can’t get the Japanese versions as easily

Looks great and a lot of the detailing looks very believable, like if you photoshopped a cool airfield or hangar around it that it could fool the eyes into thinking it’s the real thing
-
I just always remembered those comics forever in the discount bins at the comic shops. I don’t think kids ever lined up for them. Comics with toy and cartoon tie ins rarely lasted with only a couple of brands that stuck around. I think GI Joe might be the only big title I can think of. personally, I always thought at the time Robotech was first airing that each show was a different season. So I kinda thought at the time that it had three seasons. It felt longer than a lot of other shows I was into at the time like Dungeons and Dragons
-
I don’t know, I haven’t actually known a single person that remembers Ulysses 31. But Thunderbirds was a different story. Although most people knew as the weird puppet show. I think having an odd style of tv show made it more memorable
-
I get what he’s saying though. When I was growing up everyone remembered go bots or transformers or GI Joe and voltron , but if you remembered Robotech, you were kind of a rarity. Even when the show was first airing a lot of the kids I knew compared it to a soap opera and didn’t like it. After it aired and meeting people in the gaming community( which was another odd ball rarity of a group), there were many that swore that Macross was a ripoff of battletech. That brought up many arguments from me and only an even smaller group of people. It was pre internet and finding information to back up your side of an ultra nerd argument wasn’t that easy.
