  1. Maybe delete your cookies for the site? I just bought some stuff using them and obviously could load the site just fine. As far as rates go, FJ used to be fairly complicated a la Buyee, but they've simplified to a format similar to ZM since a few months ago. They still have a consolidation fee of 500 yen, but I don't think they have a conversion rate... could be wrong, though. I'll check my last purchase and let you all know.
  2. It would be nice to see some more stuff brought into the game, but all the same... I'm buying this regardless. Because it's Shadows of the Colossus, see.
  3. Only tangentially related to Macross, but an item I'm having shipped by SAL just left Japan - the Figuarts Zero Mirage figure. The tracking page lists it has having left "TOKYO INT V BAG 2". I've never heard of that before; usually I see the name of the airport. Anyone seen that before and/or can clarify what it means? I have my guesses, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks.
  4. I decided not to bite on the 31J because I was waiting for this. I'm glad to see it already out for preorder. Ordered 2 myself.
  5. New episode, still hate the music but I'mma stop beating that dead horse from now on. The entire episode is more or less a dedicated "Coming From America" sequence, which I'm totally fine with. The editing could have been better - it keeps cutting back and forth with modern day events that aren't as interesting, to be honest (mainly because the plot moves along so slowly) - but all in all, it tells a great personal story.
  6. Summary/commentary: - Individual shoulder "petals" are movable, fairly easily, too. Shoulder itself is still on a slide-rail for bird mode/re-entry mode. - I still hate the chest opening gimmick. It's even more pronounced on here than it was on the Freedom/Providence. - About 10 seconds in, you get a decent look at the face, and it appears the right ear is closed and the left is open and has that extra fin. Later on, you see a shot behind the closed right ear and see a white fin piece hiding, so chances are that area is articulated as well. - The arm rotation joint, typically on the bicep somewhere, looks to be on the forearm this time. That doesn't bode well for articulation; I'm reminded of the old 90s 1/100 kits. - Way more wing articulation. I wonder if it wouldn't be simpler at this point to just give you a flexible wire mesh and a whole bunch of feathers to stick into it as you see fit. - Leg articulation seems largely unchanged from older kits. - Side skirts are on a hinge that swings forward to cover the side of the legs. Guess is it's related to the bird mode transformation. - Twin buster rifle has undergone some major changes, which were already visible on pictures before the video but it's still noteworthy. The handles were moved forward (or the buttstock lengthened) making for a longer stock. - The handles also feature a secondary bar that extends from the bottom of the handle back and up, forming a triangular space for the hands to fit in. - This video showed bird mode without the TBR attached, though I remember seeing a picture where it was. I imagine the videographers simply forgot or chose not to incorporate them. Seems like the TBR changes would make for increased difficulty handling it, and indeed, the shots of the Wing Zero holding it look awkward and clumsy. In both poses (standing and a dynamic midair pose) the buttstock is tucked beneath the WZ's shoulder, resembling more a bazooka than a gun (you see the same pose on a lot of Zakus). The dynamic pose reveals the contortions the hand has to make to grip the handle of the gun due to the extra piece of plastic introduced for the redesign.
  7. Cool on the Amiibo support, snort on the motion controls.
  8. Agreed, and yet if they repeated their Idolmaster skins or introduced Macross Deculture itasha I'd be all over that.
  9. ^ Speaks truth.
  10. Get enough to do the transformation from fighter to gerwalk where it does a backflip and a barrel roll. That'd be something...
  11. Oh god, that must be like trying to play Guitar Hero on Easy after 100%ing everything on Expert.
  12. What's DCS? Anyway, yeah, it's definitely more arcade than sim. The newest one, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (available on PC if you want to try the games out, though it's kind of an outlier in the series), is especially arcadey, with default controls auto-leveling your aircraft. The older PS2-era games at least default the movement to a more simulation-ish style; left stick controls pitch and roll, just like a real flight stick, R1/L1 are airbrake/throttle, R2/L2 are yaw.
  13. God damn it, they brought back that stupid stupid STUPID "mah chest is a maw" mechanic... Otherwise, the extra wings look smaller than I initially they would be. I was under the impression they were another set of full-sized wings. Twin buster rifle has undergone some extensive changes. Handles have been moved way closer to the middle of the gun, which is fine except it makes it look more like a bazooka now than a "rifle." But eh. It looks fine, though.
  14. "...and has remorsefully injured countless innocent civilians..." Ah, good to see that old-school Engrish jank back in full force. EDIT: Also, new fictional fighter at 1:43 mark.

Just wanted to say thanks again. I bought an HLJ purchase last night with credit card (1% transaction fee, oh well), and couldn't change that conversion rate fast enough.
  16. Yeah, there was quite a few things in there that interested me, but nothing that I was chomping at the bit to get. I honestly think I'll find something more "I NEED THAT RIGHT NOW" once the sci-fi stuff goes on sale. I did buy a MG Force Impulse, though, mostly for the eventual Stargazer conversion kit that I'll get the instant I get the chance.
  17. No one's gonna mention the giant frakk-off tank absolutely dwarfing the planes and teeming with Panzer-chans?

Oh, okay, use a card. Got it. I've just been having them deduct from my bank account. That'll save me so much in the long run. Thanks so much!
  20. Ah, I see. Yes, the blue super packs do look not half bad on the 31F. Also, you people and your three of each. LAWD HELP ME.
  21. I'd say the Hi-Res caters to decidedly shounen aesthetics, whereas the original EW redesign caters a lot to shoujo tastes. The proportions are especially telling, very bishounen. Spot on. The Wing Zero goes through a WHOLE BUNCH of design revisions in the manga, starting from the Proto Zero design, gradually turning into angel feathers Wing Zero, and from there a few more revisions to look similar to how it does here. This model bulks up the design significantly, though. (Someone with more knowledge than me explains it in greater detail halfway down this post.)

Is there a way to NOT use Paypal's conversion and leave the conversion up to your bank? It used to be an option but I haven't been able to do it for at least a year now.
