Caught a burglar red-handed in my house!
KingNor replied to Majestic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The problem with US laws: They are too easy on criminals. If you are a criminal on my property, you have relinquished all rights. If the two guys weren't burglars, they wouldn't have been shot to death. Action and consequence, simple as that. Pity I wasn't on the jury, I would have been for that guy, regardless of the force used to stop the burglars. He was freaking shot too. I guess he couldn't counter sue for medical fees and disability? I'm all for crime prevention as opposed to criminal rehabilitation. Make harsher laws and fewer people will entertain criminal thoughts. I hate criminals more than I hate dumb people. vinnie i agree with you on every point vinnie. someone breaks into your house, its not up to you to figure out if he's armed or not. Your house is the ONE PLACE ON EARTH you should be safe from these scum, and if they are breaking in, they better come with serious firepower because you should be able to bring the F-ing gates of hell on these bastards. unfortunately, law abiding citizens arn't allowed to equipt themselves the way law breakers are. ironicly, the guys breaking the laws are the ones who don't care about the gun laws, they become the powerful ones. now a days even most police officers are outgunned because people seem to think that restricting people who arn't breaking the law anyway is going to affect people who could give a flying fart if their gun is illegal. but people don't understand that concept. every time some gangsta kills a cop with a high powered machine gun, the laws get tighter for the lawful people while the law breakers continue to have free reign over their illigal guns. its stupid. also, i applaud you for takeing on that crook, if people knew the average man was as agressive for defending his freedom and rights as the crackheads are about stealing dvd players, then there would be alot less crime. i can't believe we live in a society where people are told to cave in the instant someone wants our stuff. F that. -
my question to people worried about the screen, honestly what HARM can it do? if a game doesn't NEED both screens, they just won't use it. i can see alot of possible uses, gimmiky yes, but hardly gameplay destroying. everyone i talk to complains about how the two screens are going to ruin the system, WHAT exactly is it that the two screens are going to destroy, someone tell me!

what is cooler, high quality cloth and leather, or plastic and rubber? dead end batman was the coolest costume i've seen in a while. the rubber crap worked in the first batman cuz it was never before seen. but now its like they dont' know how to do anything else. i also think the belt looks stupid. how cool would it be to see batman in some scaled back and streamlined S.W.A.T. gear? straped utility belts to his arms and thighs, a boot knife. more commando lilke and less hollywood. woulda been neat. course this is comeing from a guy who thought spiderman would have been super cool if peter had stayed in his sweats and skimask....

Starship troopers Anime Powered suit kit
KingNor replied to mondamoto's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
the only other starship troopers thing i've seen since the movie is the first 10 minutes of the bafflingly bad second movie. i'm really intrested in this anime version, wich is "the best interpitation of the books" sounds cool. -
i thought the grason superman looked better, tough, stoic. more old school. the guy in worlds finest, definatly looks the part as well, but he goes more the rout of "sexy hunk" superman. just my opinion, i liked grason-supes better. the gritty batman kicks butt, but a few of the shots are kinda weird. why does he jump up on the dinner table in that one scene? unless that was in the middle of a fight or something, that seemed like kinda an odd thing for batman to do. anyway, good stuff, better than the last couple hollywood superhero movies i've seen.

Starship troopers Anime Powered suit kit
KingNor replied to mondamoto's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
this is alot of extremely intresting info in this thread. i had no idea starship troopers was so old. and while i had heard the movie was nothing like the book, i had no idea to what extent that implyed. wow -
i dont' know why, but something feels very not right about all these changes..............

why not just call it a destroyer?

i'm almost positive that they rearanged the hansolo fight with gweedo because han is a "good guy" and lucas is probably scared parents won't buy toys of a guy who kills people to save himself. they turned him from a bad ass who shoots firs and asks questions later, into an idiot who waits till hes fired at before defending himsefl. fricken dumb

eh.. nevermind

in a world where the FBI had their guns edited out while chasing a FRIGGIN ALIEN, i'm suprised anyone would belive this wasn't edited for violence.. the practicly ONLY cut out the part involving lazers contacting people. pretty damn sad if you ask me. the movie was already rated pg wasn't it? why a movie called star wars... star Wars... star WARS would feel its nessesary to cut out the tiny bit of violence in it is beyond me. bravo yet again mr lucas. wooptie doo. ----edit---- and in defence of the "cheese" deaths, anyone here been shot by a space lazer blaster ma bob? not me. pretty odd ball guns, who knows WHAT they do to you when you get shot. aparently gut shots make the persons leg muscles spazm and causes a split second seasure of the nervous system! also funky facial expressions are made. though most undoubtedly very painful.. the results are often hilarious.

I know. But you can't just consider the potential human cost to yourself. The international backlash from incidents like that can be rather painful in the long run too. At any rate, that's a bit too political already. Come to think of it, even the bow wake of a USN Nimitz class would probably swamp and sink a dhow. Doesn't even need a direct hit. personally, i'd be just fine with it if other countrys told their mariners in their little peice of junk fisher boats to stay the hell away from our big american ships, it just so happens that we americans know everyone hates us, and we're not about to let some tool in a dingy full of dinamite blow up our expencive ships if we can help it. maybe, just maybe, their fisher boat can wait 3 minutes while the carrier goes by, rather than trying to snake in front of it, or run along side... just a thought. seriously though, one accendental collision means international outrage, while the US helping with forign floods, famine, fires, and any other dozens of crisis gets maybe a tiny blurp on page 26 of the paper. its not fair.
-
i doubt anyone losses a career over this, maybe loss of post, or some heavy pentalties, but accedents DO happen. if the CO has an otherwise distinguished recored and was not personally performing the job wich failed, it doesn't make sence to throw all that training away over one incident. you gotta remember, that from the bridge of a carrier, the first SEVERAL THOUSAND feet infront of the thing are blocked by the flight deck. if the sucker whos supposed to be watching the water strait ahead isn't doing his job then the bridge can't know anything is there. and from the sounds of it, this boat was pretty tiny and if it was in visual with the bridge, it would be a pretty small speck on a very large ocean. the bridge crew isn't at fault i'd say.

I'm looking for the "theme" song for each of the military branches: Marines Navy Air Force Army Coast Guard (if they have one?) but i have no idea what they are called, nor what to call them "theme" tends to return themes from military based movies. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks :-)

The DUTCH factor.. Importance of PREDATOR
KingNor replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
as much as i loved predator, i can never shake the feeling that i'm watching something of a B-movie when i watch it. i routeinly feel like these guys are running around in the landscaping and parks around the studio. the saving grace is the utter bad assness of the predator. the design and presence the predator creature have basicly carries the movie. all the human's seemed somewhat flat, except for the two black guys, they had some real dynamics. the rest needed simply to fire big guns, or giggle their boobs a bit ( depending on who they were) so, the ONE thing i think predator did was show horror movie makers that taking the creature more seriously can have a big impact on how well your movie does. otherwise i don't think predator did much for the genera as a whole. -
i'm impressed someone with so little knowlegde of the source material got it to look so "right" , very cool.

even in times of war, there is tons of down time. if a pilot/deck crew was just sitting around on their shift with nothing to do, whos to say they wouldn't paint the missles to m atch? its not like they would stop the plane from taking off if say, one was half painted...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
KingNor replied to Effect's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm happy, look at me, la te da da dee, happy. Now go kill your family and i'll give you a beer. -- Mo Seriously, Revenge of the Sith works for me, much better than Send in the Clowns, er.. i mean Attack of the Clones. at this point though, nothing will make me happy. Star Wars was complete, the trillogy made it less pure but a decent serise. these new movies have already ruined it for me, even if this last one kicks all possible ass, nothing will save them. Ep 1 and 2 just totally and completely spoiled Star Wars for me. -
AchtungMacross: did you originally build this not knowing it could transform? (not knowing the plane in the show could transform, the model can't, obviously) just curious. your comment on "what are the arms" has me a bit perplexed.
-
i LOVE the original monster; transforming monsters make my eyes bleed with angquish
-
i'm a little "turned on," myself.

maybe cuz the names are kinda similar?
