  1. its all the old people man, they cheat death by moving to florida. god had to do something and it would take to long to send "death" door to door. so he has to use hurricanes. hey guys, i used to live on guam in the pacific, we'd get full scale typhoons (pacific talk for hurricanes) only there was no big body of land to slow them down.. they'd just blow us apart. keep your heads low, stay in the center of your buildings away from glass. get your cd's and lots of batterys for you boom box. good luck.
  2. you guys realize that if enough people DIDN'T buy this, they'd be much more likely to release the OT in it's original form. oh well. i'm not buying. it's good to see that they are kind of trying to listen to the fans a little this time around. changing some of the really crappy stuff. i've never heard of all that extra footage they found, luke killing trees and stuff like that. i'd be intrested to see some of that stuff.
  3. no dude, its just a paint job for the models. fan subbed?
  4. its a cartoon not a tech drawing class. they probably did that so the pilot woudln't look all weird down in the crotch of the plane. anime MaGiC
  5. i think if this was true we'd have heard about it a while ago.
  6. i stand by my claim that given it's a kids toy built to occomidate a gijoe, it looks pretty good. i'd easily call it as good looking as the average joe vehicle.
  7. i would be VERY supprised you've got no idea how unstable something like a gerwalk mode would be. not only would you have two independand sources of thrust moving around in independant directions, you'd have the mass of the legs (with big engines int them) swinging around causing weight distribution to shift and such factor in minor performance variations in each engine (one running rich one running lean) and you've got one hell of a machine to wrangle.. and for what purpose would this ungainly vehicle be used?
  8. thank god i'm not the onlly one on macrossworld whos not INSANE an operational valkyrie in 5 years... comeon people...
  9. macross = giant robots to fight giant aliens there are a bjillion reasons why a real military simply woudln't need a human shaped mecha. like in gundam, if the gun the gundam holds can destroy another gundam, then why have the gundam at all? why not just slap some treads on the gun, ad a drivers seat. and BAM you got a itty bitty gundam killing tank that costs 1 zillion times less to make. as for valks, the valkyries are SPECIFICLY designed to fight gigantic alien monsters. they arn't intended for fighting other giant robots (insert why i hate macross zero here) so asking if it's possible is really kinda asking "is it still possible that we could be invaded by gigantic aliens?" ya, well i guess anything is possible.
  10. in all honesty, this doesn't look SO bad, if i was little and i could handle the fact that it doesn't transform, this would be an ok toy. especially since the figures can get in and out. if it could at least go into gerwalk mode it would be pretty dern cool. (for a little kids toy)
  11. oooh quotes by dennis! what a treat what a cute site
  12. Yeah, but when you factor in thermal and radar ... then it becomes a lot more visible. Don't gotta see when you can "see" enough to get a missile on its tail. lol i always crack up (and by that i mean get frustraited) when i hear yet another person talk about how "hard" it would be to see a black object in space, as opposed to any other colored object. silly, i'm not gonna get into it yet again. as for this valk. i think it looks cool, kinda bland though. but i mean, its a 1/48 scale valk, it looks good! it would have been nice if they'd done something a little more memorable though. like make it that dark blue squadron from the show. SOMETHING with either more visual flair or more nostalgic tie in's too the show/movie.
  13. i beleive dyrl answers the question pretty nicely with the small bosters in the nose. likewise, if the plane is tough enough to roll around on the ground while in batroid mode, it should have no problem sliding its parts on the ground if it needs to transform while parked. kinda a forced transformation with the hull of the plane floping around as it transforms. when it's done i'd imagine it would be in batroid mode either laying on its chest or its back, then it could just get up. i think both of those explinations are logical and fit with in the macross universe and more than cover the question. personally i like the dyrl booster hop.
  14. if you ask me the mpc LOOKS more right that that sleek grey one. it's really too bad the mpc has such bad quality though. i've always liked the ugly, utilitarian look of the legios
  15. HWR MKII: isn't it amazing how people will beleive an anti-military press who's got a track record of activly trying to make the military look bad, rather than listen to someone who actually works in the system. it doesn't get much more direct than someone who actually inspects/loads the weapons on the plane, but that REPORTER over there, behind the guard rails and without any type of clearence must have the "real" story. don't give yourself a heartatack trying to convince these guys hwr, it doesn't work. they're more inclined to beleive internet conspiracy therorists and fuzzy pictures than beleive the people who actually know what's going on.
  16. you're confusing me the mig28 isn't a real plane, it's a fake plane used as the sort of "nameless" badguy in top gun. the focus on top gun was more mavricks internal issues rather than the war with "penland" or who ever. there is no "real" info on the mig28 because it's not real. its a paintjob for a movie. the plane in the movie isn't a "real" mig because it isn't a mig at all, its not even a fake mig or "technically" a mig, its a painted f5.... maybe you understand this but i'm not sure. i feel the need, the need for speed.
  17. uuuuummm... well since the mig 28 is a F-5, i'd guess that everything it can do, how it looks and how it performs would be just like the f-5. havn't you even tried google for images? i typed in mig 28 and got tons of black f-5's with red stars on them.
  18. You don't honestly think that all alien life that might be out there is automatically more advanced than us, do you? Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we're still using some form of radio 200 years from now. i've never understood the theory that if we contact someone they "must" be more advanced than us. seems like an odd thing to automaticly assume. i'm not too excited about finding alien life elsewhere simply because there's not really anyway to talk to them, it takes something like 20 years to get a signal to the nearest star, and who knows how long it will take to comunicate with aliens when we find them. i kind of assume there is life in the universe, proof would be intresting but after the initaial "wow, we arn't alone" it would be DECADES before we knew anything else about them.
  19. from this link: http://www.thememoryhole.org/war/wounded/ this is such a stupid comment (if it's intended to make things look bad for casualty rates in war) ok so we have 8 soldiers.. 2 die, the rest are wounded. only 3 wounded for every death we have 8 soldiers... 1 die the rest are wounded. we have 7 wounded for every death. wich one had more killings? this quote is sorely with out context to figure wich war is loosing more men. yet it makes it look like things are getting worse. more people are wounded per death because less people are dieing! we are careing for the troops better than ever.
  20. or its possible that in all the confusion... and with fighters being scrambled to fly over NY, that the radiostation made a mistake... whats more likely: radio station makes error saying a liner was being escorted, and just never owns up to it when it turns out to be false. OR radiostation somehow knows whats going on in the skys indipendantly(with out radar or air traffic control devices, yet somehow they actually know whats up), then the government steps in, tells radiostation "no way, check this out, a guy is being a hero" then the government shoots down the plane and it just happends to crash into the pentagon, and there is a huge cover up spanning multiple layers of the government.
  21. i have no idea, but if it was going fast enough to be in the air, it was going fast enough to itemize itself. i'm totally estimating here, but if they take off at 160 mph, and they cruize at 500, then to me, it seems they'd be flying around 200. fast enough to stay compfortably airborn, yet not so fast to make manuvoring difficult.. totally speculation tho. i doubt anyone can tell tho, there isn't exacly alot of knowlege on what collisions with the pentagon via 747 look like. unles there is a cop somewhere that got it on his radar
  22. i should credit the guys at http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1558416 for posting and hosting these images, and mechamechanic for linking to them originally.. no one seemd to see them so i felt i needed to repost. also i'd like to thank everyone for keeping politics out and focusing on the prooff/non-proof of the event, hopefully to keep this topic open and up for healthy debate.
  23. i can't verify the validity of this image. but here it is.. showing the plane in relation to the physical impact damage on the building.
  24. finally some bits of the engine... remember.. this engine was fagile and desintigrated on impace, herere is probably the largest piece left of the engine.. weird how this didn't make it into the vid?
  25. and why isn't there even any small edvidence in that flash vid to show that a plane crashed into the building? surely they must have found at least SOME edvidenced.. well if your a loonly, you simply don't include the edvidence in your flash vid.. here are some pics ...
