  1. Macross Zero introduced us to proper VF to VF dogfights, and we are getting a more high tech version here in Delta. Frontier only had Brera ones but usually more memorable as they weren't frequent. Plus was only a military exercise.
  2. We need VF-17/171 next and Hopefully SV-51. VF-31 and Sv-262 are no brainers. VF-27 and 29 got integrated into VF-25 book somehow. I think the VF-4 book will also touch on the other non-animated ones like VF-3000/5000 and VF-9. VF-11 and 14 should be covered in another book.

I think this VF-1J release is for those who missed out the Armored one and wants a VF-1J to duke it out with the battle pods.. This is also updated with small wings and collar gap covers like the VF-1A. This is another case of semi reissue syndrome of a fast seller like Kamen Rider Kuuga/Rising.

Your Macross collection has certainly grown in one year. I will be getting two Glaugs as I have four Regults for them to command. That is what Trident Stages are good for.

They are clearly trying to differentiate the M&M colour scheme from past offerings. This one matches the 15th anniversary boxarts. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/bandai/30553b.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/bandai/30498b.jpg
  6. This one is slightly stylised to be beefier looking. Which is the definitive large scale product line for the ATs at the moment, the Yamato or Takara Tomy ones? Either way, the Threezero one will be my first Votoms toy and I look forward to the weathering.
  7. I need Bandai to announce Metal Build/GFFCM Sinanju just before Unicorn TV ends. But Katoki is currently busy with Ka Signature Ex-S Gundam and Xeku Zwei. Unless they get someone else to supervise it. With these third party products, I usually have to read the production version review before making a purchase. Even the sample sent to reviewers in advance may not be reflective of the production verison. But Moshow Aile Strike Gundam is good. The Metal Plus Huckebein is not very good according to the reviews. Other third parties I endorse are the Wei Jiang oversized Optimus Primes and some bootleg MP ones. Pricing is good too due to having no design cost. All the other stylised transformers are all >100 USD each due to design cost and the QC is usually a hit or miss.
  8. Would it be safe to presume that the VF-171 is currently an obsolete model and therefore only used by outer rim planets at the moment? Perhaps inner worlds and colonisation fleets would be using something else. Can't tell if we are seeing the VF-171EX at the moment, someone will need to check on the Ex-gear seat. The M7 Zola example of VF-5000s were not local UN garrisons though.
  9. Good thing they mixed science and magic to explain why only military personnel get infected.

They will seriously need to include a brown VF-1J head with the standard Super Packs(UN Spacy insignia). But then they are probably compatible with the white VF-1J. The old one had to use stickers. http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x446890402

So far it is difficult to say whether any HMRs will get reissues in the future, but I think a TV Armored Valkyrie as a web exclusive is likely to be a reissue equivalent. Roy was a web exclusive to distinguish it from the initial 2010 release. We need VF-19Kai with gunpod attachment.
  12. I find it surprising how it could still become Gerwalk by reusing parts from the other two modes, given the obscurity of the transformation.
  13. One thing that Macross distinguishes itself from Gundam and Transformers is that it offers good looking transformers with its sci-fi vehicle modes prioritised.
  14. No photos allowed! Very pleased to see a Y-wing mecha colle, now I don't have to buy any of the 1/72 ones.
  15. Looks a bit busy in the middle, but looks much more cohesive than the Macross Quarter, even though the form is still prioritised in the humanoid form. We still won't get proper looking cruiser that transforms into a robot. The last best one was the Battles class, in that it looks like a ship that doesn't necessarily look like to have a transformation gimmick.
  16. So the super packs will be colour and marking specific, and may come with another YF-30 styled rear ordnance. I personally skipped the YF-30 due to the ugly ordnance, hence I might skip all the VF-31s except for a select few. Hopefully the Sv-262 will get an armored pack as well, at least for Master Hermann(defense), Borgue, and Keith.

I thought CDJapan doesn't do SAL if an individual item is worth more than 7000 yen? I usually don't use CDJapan for high value items unless I have no choice. I tend to get 3x grunts with SAL from CDJapan though.
  18. Coming in July 2016: Bandai 1/72 TIE Interceptor, 12.2cm long. Comes with pilot, clear and opaque cockpits, laser effect.
  19. It is just that the VF-1 in DYRL verse, VF-11 in M7 and VF-25 in F all sortie with super packs in space. Heavy fighters such as VF-14 and VF-17/171 certainly don't need them. The VF-19 in M7 was mainly short duration in defense operations, except for the last one.
  20. Are Super Packs necessary for VF-1, VF-11 and VF-25 for moderate duration space operations? I got the impression that without the super packs, their default form would not able to last long in space. Of course, SDF TV made the space Super Pack a luxury space equipment rather than an essential. Doesn't this manual say the vanilla VF-1 could run for 700 hours under atmosphere but only 600 seconds in space?
  21. What is the weird looking one that belongs to Mirage? It looks like it will appear in every episode from now on.
  22. I want colour matching armor pack or strike pack for Keith's unit. But then with the fighter in such a self contained form, it is difficult to design packs that actually fit cohesively with it. Like how the VF-17/171 packs don't look well with the them. The Lil Draken already look like some blatantly obvious external peripherals, but the leg missile pods blend in well shape wise.
