  1. So GN composite armor from Gundam 00 was derived from Macross. ECA strengthens the armor enough for them to transform and retains the real robot vulnerability while without using shields and force fields from Star Trek and Star Wars.

    Hi-Metal R

I don't think it would be ideal to get two sets and give one to Max or Miria since the colors won't match. They won't release any non-anime/filmed works color ones. Model kits still the best for customising.
  3. Huge haul. 10kg shipment for 14000 yen EMS. So on average 2000 yen per item. Bulk shipment EMS is quite economical. Though, the Japanese proxy kept 3 out of the domestic shipping boxes inside the large box, which may have reinforced the bottom of the box. Only YF-29 and YF-25 are opened goods. RVF-25 and VF-27 have the thickest boxes among the skinny bunch. I know for sure than the VF-171s are even thicker. I just need Michael's one now as everyone has a super part/armored parts as well. Don't think I'll have space for upcoming Macross goods + Arcadia VF-0s. Will probably move my Gundam Metal Builds elsewhere. My ordered list has finally been converted into owned. http://myfigurecollection.net/profile/calubin_175

The text says you swap parts to depict it after having fired the missiles, so basically empty missile bays.

    Hi-Metal R

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! I am such a HUGE fan of any armored VFs. 10500 yen, that is still cheaper than a regular DX Chogokin. But seriously, proportion wise this beats the Yamato's one any day. So this means after the August VF-27, Bandai will be transitioning to VF-Hi Metal as their Macross line. I am still hoping for a Michael VF-25 reissue though. I am not sure whether a reissue eats up the entire slot for the monthly Macross placeholder, given that Macross toys only come one at a time, unlike Robot Damashii. I also need to get SOC Gunbuster. Bandai is getting my money every month. There is also a reissue of SRC Shin Getter 1 due for Sept but I already got one from anime export for 20% few weeks ago.

I actually got a VF100 Armored VF-25F recently just for fun. Planning to give to it to my friend as a gift just to troll him.

    Hi-Metal R

Good to know that the line is not dead. Fingers crossed for a Micheal VF-25 reissue before they change over to HI-Metal R. I am preferring this Armored Valkyrie over Arcadia's one. Do you guys actually think the Monster is to scale at 1/100 in the display or is it a little bit smaller?
  8. It depends how many years into the hobby and the particular character line being invested. I am pretty sure 7 years + of collecting toys in general has reached beyond the 20k+ range in total, but for individual franchises, I don't think it has gone over 5k.
  9. So Yamato had the following molds: VF-0 SV-51 VF-1 VF-4 VF-11 VF-17 VF-19 VF-22 Arcadia so far has VF-0 Bandai has: VF-25 VF-27 v1.5 YF-29 VF-171 YF-30 VF-19Advance
  10. So far for the Bandai DX Chogokins, 202,300 yen before shipping for 7 fighters, 2 armored packs, 4+1(Brera's) super parts and one Macross Quarter. And then one VF-0D from Arcadia at below market price.
  11. Did I do good? I have three of them, so one for each of the VF-0s as I am only planning to get VF-0s from Arcadia.
  12. I wonder how the color will look when it comes out. Hopefully more white/grey than beige. The poster art looks white and accurate to the CG model. Though, the VF-0D had a color deviation with the production version.
  13. Proportions look good, should be priced the same range as Arcadia's new molds but same size as the VF-1.
  14. Does anyone have any pics of the other Macross Quarters? I am referring to this one. http://i.imgur.com/lCULB.jpg I think in the novel this one could either be the Crazy Horse or the Enlightment.
  15. When I read the topic, I thought it was an add-on pack that isn't the monster.
  16. The price of Orguss got jacked up upon release. I am suspecting that it is due to low production numbers, maybe something similar to ThreeA. It is surprising to see the Bandai Vilkiss getting pre-orders closed even though it was also overpriced. I guess Orguss did a better job than the niche Riobot characters. So Orguss is still more popular than Jehuty or Orgun.
  17. Funny thing is, VF-1 Space Wings page 108 teased a publication on the VF-4, 3000 and 5000 ヴァリアブルファイター・マスターファイル 希望の翼. It probably means there is no chance of them getting their own books at present time since there is very little material available on them and that genealogy page already has a short profile on each of them, which is more than enough for a non mainstream media design. By the way, does anyway know of any in-universe info on the Minmay Guard VF-1S?
  18. While trying to boycott the YF-30, I would like to see Rion's green YF-25 Prophecy + Super Pack bundle to be released as a web exclusive.
  19. It is nice to see them doing scenarios books. This is probably one of the ways to expand the Macross franchise/universe without an anime. They do it better than Gundam as there is more consistency due to supervision from Kawamori. They'll probably do something later on SMS period Isamu, though the Frontier manga and novels have touched on him briefly already. There has been too much material on things related to the Macross Plus VFs. I think this is partly due to writers trying to avoid the sound energy aspect introduced by Macross 7 and the Valuta Conflict.
  20. Despite being canon or not, I liked how they showed that there is hardly a standard color available and that each squadron has their own color according to their assigned carrier, base and region. After going through them, I noticed that there weren't many references(VF-19) to squadrons in the VF-X games. I am not sure whether the VF-22 book would draw some examples. They do mention Macross 7's Emerald Force's VF-19 and even their post 2059 VF-25. Ozma is mentioned getting another VF-25S. I think the next candidate for a Master File would be VF-4, VF-11 and the VF-17/171 series. The elusive VF-3000/5000 won't get a chance since the VF-4 is the signature VF for non-animated works.
  21. Is there a place to get pics of all the cards? Even Emilia Jenius is in it.
  22. We all know that PS2 Macross (2003) is still the best aviation oriented Macross game complete with barrel rolls and etc. Is Macross 30's engine just an upscaled version of the PSP titles? Is there a sense of distance on the maps and barrel roll dodging? I think the greatest appeal is the story, not so much the generic Bandai mecha engine game play.
  23. Saw a Yamato 1/60 Hikaru VF-1S with Strike Parts for 16k unused. Didn't get it since I would rather wait for the VF-0. There was also a used Alto YF-29 for 22k.
