1. might be worth bidding a penny on just for a conversation bot. "my what a large male unit your bot has..." "thank you... I normally keep it on display next to my wife's beaver" edit in: as I notice you have it as your avatar
2. the vf-0a w/ghost looks sweet.
3. nice... very nice
4. Rare Robotech Mecha Launcher Attack System! MOC starting at $30?!?!? http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Robotech-Mecha-La...1QQcmdZViewItem the super cool space gun http://cgi.ebay.com/ROBOTECH-space-laser-g...1QQcmdZViewItem Puffy ACTION STICKERS Set of 23 Macross http://cgi.ebay.com/ROBOTECH-Puffy-ACTION-...1QQcmdZViewItem kinda missleading... "G1 Transformers Jetfire Robotech RARE 1985 Unopened MIB" http://cgi.ebay.com/G1-Transformers-Jetfir...1QQcmdZViewItem
5. someone should really start a "lego my macross" gallery. I've seen some done much better than this. The variable vf-1 was pretty cool but the destroid monster was great. I've also seen a tomahawk, raider-x/defender, a tactical pod, and a glaug. I soooo want to see directions for the glaug. On brickshelf do a search on macross and you can see a vf-19... http://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=macross&stype=fi the cyclone is kinda cool as well http://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=robotech&stype=fi
6. I used to live in earl's court a number of years back managing a youth hostel. Have you hit camden market yet? Keep your eyes out for a matsushiro vf-1j for me while your out there . Oh yeah... violator valk ves.2 is going to be much better than ves.1... I already have a number of evil plans
7. good thing you remembered me as I just now stumbled across this thread . I'll let you know a: when I recieve them b: when I ship them out to you I actually have no idea how long it's been so far... guess I should look at the invoice.
8. I will limit to sci-fi only as if I included fantasy stainless steel rat terry pratchet's "discworld" series [1 book was sci-fi and explained discworld ] dune [as everybody has said] david webers "honor harrington" series [i've read 10+ so far and they just won't stop] anything by harlan ellison heinliens "lazurus" series orson scott card's "ender" series robert anton wilson "illuminati" series james doohan "the flight engineer" trilogy larry nivens "man-kzin wars" mike shepherd's "kris longnife" series series I'm sucked into but haven't finished [usually because the authors aren't, at least to my knowledge] chris bunch "the last legion" series lisanne normans "sholan alliance" series something I forget involving "posleen" or something... alien centaur type things invede earth after "benificial" aliens warn earth and recruit our violent warriors as everybody else who's anti centaur can't fight worth a damn. I really should see if the next book came out yet but that would require finding one of the books in my house so I knew the series name and autor name. Not an easy task in my house let me tell you as I get frustrated and scoure through a few hundred books to find... john ringo as the author, which figures as I'm also waiting for more of the "there will be dragons" series from him. I'm sure there are outhers but my short term memory is shot and I read a novel every day or two and lose track... at least with a memory as bad as mine I can re-read stuff sooner
9. it's nice when your girl says "sure I'll color that in... it would be good experience" as opposed to "you brought home WHAT from a strange bathroom?!?!?!?" which reminds me... anybody need a sink... or two?
10. grayson, is kanata talking toy stuff again? 328838 I think he is, I'll grab the pitchforks and you grab the torches, we'll incite the villagers together 328877 actually I was talking about both . For my zen custom I have a quamzin ship and a zjentohi auedy 1/20000 scale models I plan on using for the arms. Scale wise they are off but appearence wise the are perfect. What can I say... I like the detail of models and the structural stability of some toys... merging the two just seems to make sense to me. . you know.... I could use a pitchfork...
11. I just notcied that unlike my "Global's Pipe Holder" A1 has "Please bang anus please!!!" ?!?!?!? Is this what I have to look foward to if I post to much?!?!? I might make the suggestion that MW has an official "we recommend these guys for hosting pics so you damn newbies don't use all our web space, Learn to use hyperlinks damnit" link on the main page or somewhere else easily visible.
12. is it an electric hammer??? I do love my hammer drill . not as usefull as the electric shovel...
13. I am getting this "Weekend at Bernies" feeling from the whole deal with Shawn. 327549 Actually I went back in time and killed his mother before conception, so he actually never existed at all. 327652 aww... I bet you say that to all the ladies I actually sent a bunch of sc-fi- books to yoshi a long time back... I never heard if he got them and I know he didn't pay me for shipping, but if he never got them I wouldn't have paid for shipping either. Haven't heard from him in a long time either way. I should send rob beers an email and see how his new house is coming along though. I know one old time member decided to become a trucker for a few years to save up some cash. I'd have to go through the SS list to remember who it was that sold me my three spawn "maxx" figs + bag of izz to remember who though. Whatever happened to that bodybuilder with the over inflated ego... Oh yeah... I quoted him . I still need to check up on how A1 finished off santa though
14. nobody mentioned the bandai sd kits with working guns?!?!? super simple, transformable, and sooooo much room for custumization. I'd suggest picking up at least one. Take you less than an hour to build but what you do from there is up to you
15. what they aren't... like spawn toys??!?!? U trying to insinuate something there boy? OH!!!!!!! YOU JUST WAIT till I do a step by step jetfire to lawn dart conversion walkthrough complete with archery broadheads to make it even more dangerous than before I personally love working with what I have excess of. I don't have spare 1/48 gbp-1s armor lying around to make a custom musha set out of that I can recast... I do have spare 1/55... easy choice for me... unless your felling generous that is
16. fur sure. Let the build up happen as a build up and then seperate the wheat from the chaff for a main site submission once it's done. A walk through is different from a Q&A session but this way both would be availible. More importantly "mods" could compile a build up from members to lazy/consumed to do it on their own. As for combining the two threads.. I'd have to agree. My big thing is modding toys to be bastard spwn deamons, but a good painting tip is a good painting tip, a good wash technique is a good wash technique, panel lining is panel lining, modifying hips with metal, ball joints, resin, dremmels, etc all serve both functions. I know not every body wants to merge a vf with a cyber violator but some might use my RCA jack removable head technique for much greater and skillful uses than an undead fokker. In fact I'm thinking of RCA jacking the main cannons on a busted SDF-1. But we all know that even though I'm 90% done with a complete 1/55 rebuild/refurb walk-through that it will take me a while to finish and no-body would find the information useful anyways so let roy do what he wants... there are always other boards... sniff... but I love MW I'll post more build ups... honest. I've just had to work, keep up the yard, commute, fix the house, please the wife, ... Over a year and my home stereo still isn't even hooked up since the move... give a guy some breathing room. No wonder mr. beers talked to my slack ass more often than the board while building his house
17. nice. I was gonna make a custom 1/3000 bandai zen sdf-1 but now I mike have to make a different custom. Guess I can always make both now that I have a boxed one...
18. the sellers other items are great as well. 1 drop of katrina water. a hundred dollar bill?!?! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZimaxcafe " I'll Live Ina Steel Cage 50ft In Air At Your Business Great For Car Dealers This Stunt Will Get U Lotsa Press " I stumbled across this one on my own... http://cgi.ebay.com/Macross-Robotech-VF-1S...1QQcmdZViewItem
19. kanata67

all jm's found!

thats two more that exist than I though/have. Thats a whole lot of money though . I assume at that price you have all the boxes, etc.
20. If I got the original purchase prices for my 1/55's I'd be super pissed. One of them with a sticker price of $18.50 is worth more than $100. I'd say document and use ebay's completed auctions for a value of worth. Sometimes it might lean in your favor and sometimes not so check periodically and save the high-priced ones for your records.
21. I had it as a kid and its one toy I won't be reaquiring... unless it comes in a lot in which case I will sell it to some stupid fool who doesn't know how much it sucks. I won't bash matchbox as the officers pod is my second favorite toy next to the 1/55 valk... but the officers pod didn't transform and the hovertank should have. Not much to transformation... I believe it was either partially on it's back or upright... kinda like how gundams transform [hey look... it's lying on it's stomach "thats called flying mode" somebody has a scan of the directions somewhere but I forget who or why. I'd just fool around with it till you get it as it was matchbox so will hold up better than a yammie. When it's "erect" your in battroid mode and when it's in the ugliest pose you can get it in it's in the other mode
22. harlan ellison said "if you make people think that they are thinking... they will love you. If you make them actually think they will burn you at the stake"... actually I said that, but he would support me . just call me lazurus
23. I was one of those lucky bastiches. 326456 Me too. But then I got the other 13 from earlier long ago at $83 USD each. Who said that 13 was an unlucky number? 326545 good god. What do you do for a living, man? I am picturing you're like Adam Sandler in that movie where he was mega rich, driving around his mansion (filled to the roof with 1/48's) in a golf buggy! 326665 Nothing special man. It was just THAT cheap! 326716 as long as the penguins don't get them you should be ok
24. pretty long drive to cali... especially stoned . At least I'm not a hippie... I bath and have a job how about a couple slices of orange rind to mask the odor? Febreeze AND dessicant? foot powder?
25. why in the world would you want to do that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? if you mean which bootlegs can you use for parts to repair your original takatoku or bandai [including jetfire, excepting jetfire's nose cone] I can help. I have swapped many a joon's [ie korean bootleg, taiwanese bootleg [80's version], french valk, matsushiro, etc with great success. Re-issue bandias are the preffered parts source though as it's bandai quality and the current bootlegs [excepting the galaxy defender with which I have no experience] suck ass. You can make an arm or tail section work off a three dollar bootleg but while it "works", it still sucks and won't work for long. If your trying to patch a max or milla use a joon's for anything but legs as originals had more metal than joon's. Repairing anything else use a reissue or cheap jetfire as you can refurb to factory original once you know what your doing. That applies to refurbs... customs are a different matter. Only real issue is doing head swaps. 1s heads being swapped with anything else requires the head AND neck plate be swapped as 1s had a specific neck plate. Jetfire nosecones must be swapped with jetfire nosecones or original nosecones completely... as in you can't make a lower jetfire nose cone merge with a taka upper nosecone [ok.. you can but it looks really disturbing ]. so has spoken the 1/55 necromancer... further questions should be pm'ed
