  1. I actually think the movie version works well. It hits just enough of the right story beats to be cohesive. It also drives home the main point of the series, that I think got a little lost in the TV version. The Protoculture at their peak were poised to do exactly what Sharon Apple, Grace/Galaxy Fleet & Roid all attempted. Place all of the universe into their Vajra inspired Matrix. The main Protoculture faction at their end were "not" good people, and it's probably a good thing that the Protodevilin took them out. With that said, I also think Macross should move on from any future big bads that want to enslave everyone into a network, that territory is now sufficiently covered.
  2. Earth's fleet was sizable, just outclassed by the Gamilus. I'd still say the fleet is feasible
  3. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-08-17/voice-actor-unsho-ishizuka-passes-away-at-67/.135579 Amongst his many roles: - Joseph Joestar (old) - Jet Black And of course - Guld Goa Bowman
  4. Did he just become The Lawnmower Man?
  5. I will likely pick up all, especially Giant Robo.
  6. Discotek just blew up Otakon https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-08-12/discotek-licenses-giant-robo-kimagure-orange-road-galaxy-express-999-more/.135382 - Giant Robo (BD) - Galaxy Express TV (BD) - Godmars - Voltes V - Kimagure Orange Road (BD) - Baldios TV - Area 88 OVA
  7. While 2202 has been slow, I don't see where all the disappointment is coming from. Mind you Yamato 2 was epic, and nearly impossible to live up to. Especially after they left out the Andromeda sabotage to steal the Yamato bit. As for SEED, I still say it held up better than Wing & AGE.
  8. So, did anyone else have Murrue Ramius flashbacks? ;)
  9. Spoilers, they stopped the series when they did for a reason.
  10. To be fair, Adama "should" have chosen to save the Pegasus, it had onboard Viper factories, a lot more room (which would have saved the crew for sardine conditions). Most importantly, the Pegasus wouldn't have had a jump fatigued hull.
  11. So Max & Milia are Eurotrash in this?
  12. So for starters, Discotek is releasing subbed Lupin IV later this year, the separation is due to licensing restrictions. LOTGH has been released so insanely due to Japanese licensing restrictions, no American company would willingly screw such a release. And lastly, Votoms will have a non-astronomically priced release, despite having it's share of fanserice. If Mellowlink is the deal breaker for you, sucks to be you. Us rational fans will just accept that it has a separate production license, and may show up later.
  13. Yup, they Gunbuster/Diebustered the hell out of that ending, while fighting the Anti-Spirals. Tears were shed.
  14. The first ep of 2202 is up on Crunchyroll, just in case anyone else was holding out for legit subs. No, just me?
  15. Ending is a bit weak, up to that point though, it's pretty good.
  16. I'm finding Darling In The Franxx to be more "Diebuster" x "FLCL", but time will tell. Either way, I'm also loving it so far.
