DX for Macross seems to be more about how tall the battroid is so it's a relatively safe bet a VF-19Kai would be 1/60 scale.

Finally got this done! Looking forward to getting the Zeta, especially if they fix that floppy wing and make the shoulders easier to rotate. The Zeta will probably come with a new female pilot figure so maybe they can tighten that up also.

Agreed. I initially thought "oh, by the end of summer people will be traveling again" but that is looking less and less likely. If cool weather brings a resurgence then we might not see international travel at healthy volumes again until there are effective treatments... these shipping issues may persist through the holidays (which would be a huge boon for the specialty shippers).

2nd "Reclamation" force! There are soooooooo many iterations of the Legioss with different bits attached. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent something to Imai as soon as they could and then ended up not including the elements in the show. The concept was going to be that the crew rode motorcycles everywhere and occasionally found a Legioss to help them out... not that they had three Legioss... Legiosses.... Legioii, integral to their trip. Maybe the intake missiles and central missile pods were part of how they intended to distinguish the burner Legioss from each other.

It's not a US product in US stores so you'll need to take the Yen price and use a conversion tool (just ask google) to convert to $USD... it changes several times a day. Rough ballpark is a yen is about a penny.

I think the biggest issue is probably the cockpit. Given how big the pilot figure is, and what the Mospeada dimensions are (rather than the Robotech ones), that pilot is going to need to be super compressed in there. Remember, the CM's Tread is about the right size and they had to put a tiny pilot in there that is clearly out of scale. That said, if the Tread get's a mild 'modernization' they could have the top of the cockpit be higher up and closer to level with the shoulder humps and that may create the necessary headroom.

While I definitely do NOT expect there to be an integrated boom, I do think it's possible, particularly given what this Legioss toy does. The boom could be a sleeve or it could be a pivot (imagine sliding the boom out and there's a pivot at the front cover so that the second half of the boom rotates from within the first half and as it comes up and forward the cover for the boom rotates below this knuckle. Such a mechanism would also have the benefit of allowing two extended positions, one with a slight angle up for soldier mode and one straight forward for fighter mode. This would also allow you to store a landing gear in the knuckle... and would be dope.

Sentinel could work with Aramaki on an 'updated' Tread design... that looks similar to the old design with some departures so we're dealing with lots of unknowns. They could incorporate a hip swing like they did on the Legioss toy to overcome some of the central pivoting which makes that bar tougher to manage. There is a hole located in the gap between the feet in fighter mode (for the soldier/diver adapter) which is a very sturdy connecting point and there's the hole under the VTOL vent that the current fighter mode adapter connects to (less sturdy). There are two tiny slots in under the toe which will almost certainly tab into some portion of a Tread.

To properly get it to bathroom mode you have to bend the knees more.

I can confirm that the slots on the forearms have nothing to do with a Tread. Me: "Are these slots for a Tread", someone else "No." Beyond that, I would speculate that Mospeada Breakers will have a Super Legioss or something like that at some point and that those slots will relate to a 'weapons pack' or something in the future. I would guess that any Tread toy will come with its own stand. Beyond that, I couldn't speculate much because the engineering of this Legioss toy is so wild, it's really hard to tell how bold Sentinel would be with a Tread. They might do something like make the most complex Tread ever and sell it for $400 because they know only 500 people will buy one but they will pay a lot for it.... or they may make it pretty simple to make it more accessible. They may also choose to make it cheap and heavy parts-forming as part of the model line. Nothing to go off of yet...

Man I'm jealous. They are currently ignoring my three tickets to switch to UPS, the third one made with the exact title they requested. Was really hoping it would be my review item for next week.... doesn't seem likely at this point.

AE was great for me until I had to reach out to their customer service for the SV-51 leg fiasco. That was super frustrating because they would say something... then not do it. "We will check the legs and let you know". Then nothing. "Can you order me a replacement?" "We will check and let you know." Then nothing. Eventually I just shipped it and asked a friend to help me out but that made it pretty clear that AE customer service is for things like updating an address... anything more serious is the run-around. NY just keeps getting worse for me. My three SSP have not been shipped. They're several months late at this point and require payment up front... super shady. I made a ticket the day the 0D came out and asked to upgrade shipping since I had EMS. No response. I made a second ticket, this time asking to "switch to UPS" or whatever the method is, I thought specifically identifying which method I wanted might help the ticket out. No response. Last night I got an email from NY (not a response to one of my two tickets). They asked me to make a ticket requesting to have my shipping changed on my 0D order since EMS is unavailable. I ALREADY HAVE TWO TICKETS FOR THAT VERY PURPOSE. gah.

Negative, they really haven't made any official indication that a Tread is a thought... but there was mention of the Legioss being made with the concept of a Tread in mind and it was possible if the Legioss sold really well. It seems unlikely there will be shows any time soon so curious how we'll get updates if they do decide to do it! We know next up on the hype train is the Zeta and Houquet ride armor so we probably have a long time before a Tread is teased. God, remember when CM's developed a Legioss and a Tread concurrently and then they still didn't connect in fighter mode??? What a joke!

I think what you're interpreting as a gap is a dark gray painted area, and I think they painted it dark gray to go along with the leading edges of the shoulder 'intakes'. Like they tried to make that center section look like the top of the shoulders on either side of it. I probably would have preferred it all be blue but you could always cover that area up with the missile pod.

I like the idea of a reboot. Games and gaming have changed a lot and could offer many new directions for the movie to go in.

Don't discount it completely yet though... those books generally took their inspiration from (or outright copied) the work of the original creators. There are probably a few sheets of original material that depict those same things... somewhere.

I could see there being another PO madness style window on release date to grab some extras at MSRP from the more reputable shops... but it's going to be blink or you miss it territory. After that a bunch will end up on auction sites and we'll have to see where the going price ends up.

The crap thing is that they're not giving you the option to ship by Ferry. Even if they needed to put it in a huge box, they should still be able to ship it ferry. For whatever reason, once the box gets too big, they don't let you go by ferry which makes ZERO sense. My only guess is that their plain brown boxes only get so big and after that they use specialty boxes provided by FedEx or UPS and thus have to use that service.

I can't speak for Noel but I've heard in the past that BW is very hard to do business with for Japanese companies and nearly impossible to do business with for foreigners. When people are like "Ugh, why is this a Harmony Gold licenese!?!" it's usually because the company tried to work with BW and gave up. On the other hand, HG, as you can imagine, is very easy to work with. Just hearsay but I believe it.

Same as a VF-1, chair rotates and the pilot looks at monitors showing the action outside. I don't recall them ever making a point of showing the cameras though... But one assumes they're in the head. The green one has the big obvious eye.
