Sounds like he's looking for a doll stand, probably for the Hikaru popbox figure. YetiStand would likely be overkill.

I hope Fext sees that and copies it, is definitely buy one.

I seem to recall Roy being available in two waves. I suspect that the original production volume was 10K with a 5K option for the VF-1 toys. For the Alpha they probably went to 5K with a 5K option but chose to produce more of Scott since they knew demand was there. Something that taints the comparison though is the Aoshima release. That eliminated any chance of Toynami pulling the trigger on any additional MPC runs (though, given they performed poorly, I don't think it taints much). Toynami has also failed to pull the trigger on a refreshed MPC made without metal and the 1/60 Alpha they teased at SDCC 2017.... so, no love for New Gen either. Aw man, and I'd still like my Shadow Beta with Synchro cannon. Back to OP's point, if you're making 15 statues, the fact you can't sell 200 statues shouldn't really matter. The math problem there is that there are 100x times the fans of Macross and these companies are sweating getting preorders in on their super limited statues so, even though it seems like demand makes it a sure bet, from the other side of the fence there's just too much on the line. There's been a lot of talk about how HG and Tatsunoko are going to have a big falling out in a couple years. They've had some lawsuits and it doesn't seem like they have a very happy relationship. That has people excited. I'm not as optimistic. When you think about Tatsunoko currently getting paid for the rights to Super Dimensional Calvary Southern Cross by a company, when no one else would ever go near it, you start to see why this relationship has endured.

Yeah, look what's happening in GERWALK mode. the stabilizers somehow conform to the shape of the chest area in the line art. In reality they don't do that leaving the backpack much more vertical... unless you shrink the stabilizers.

Yamato went bankrupt... so using them as a starting point is not great. Other than that though, I think you nailed it. It's a little supply vs. demand meets economies of scale. Arcadia does very small production runs and produce very few toys every year and yet they need to cover the costs of their entire operation based on those sales. That, coupled with the fact they're selling to a niche group of diehard collectors who have shown a willingness to spend top dollar, leads to their extravagant prices. If you want bang for your buck, go with Bandai's HMR line... but don't try to track down the old releases, they're long sold out and cost just as much as Arcadia products now.

I agree, would have been cool if Bandai went back to the full size vertical stabilizers. I think the problem is simply that they seem to shrink when the super parts are installed.

I have a list up on anymoon.com that goes over every release and identifies the ones with shoulder issues, on a phone or I'd link it now.

I think the third is probably high given there was less saturation but Scott made it to 7k MPCs in the non scientific "who has the highest production number" poll I did on my site.

Woof! Man NY really not inspiring confidence these days. I will say that when the Arcadia Garland came out they shipped it out with all of my other items (that were released in December) right away. Interestingly, all of the boxes except the Arcadia were pretty dinged up so I don't recommend you leaving stuff in NY's warehouse for 7 months. EDIT - they would probably be so much better off if they stopped custom making their own boxes. EMS is a weight-based system, they don't need to shave every inch of the size of the box.. it's silly.

I suspect those pictures are intentionally taken with lighting to highlight the discrepancy in colors but I also suspect the reason for doing this was to point out that even under normal lighting you can see a difference (though I'm sure it wouldn't be nearly as pronounced).

Tamashii Stage Act 5 for mechanics.

Yeah, I wasn't nearly as big a fan of the low vis focker... Much prefer the 1/48.

I'm in California, got emails today that says my orders will arrive this weekend. I bought #2 and #7. I emailed them about combining orders and ordering more and never heard back from them so I don't think that's an effective way to reach out.

Yen price hasn't changed so it's probably just a reflection of currency conversion or shipping costs. No word on specific improvements for that model but fingers crossed.

Custom Bandai/Matchbox 1/3000 SDF-1 Macross vintage

Pretty glorious -
I suspect the Yamato 1/48 will be affordable for a while as the Bandai announcement should hit them more than the 1/60v2. I wouldn't mind having an LV 1A again.
