  1. Cool, looking forward to it. I probably am still months away from having mine so I'll have to live vicariously.
  2. For most companies, it makes WAY more sense to handle minor legal things with something like legalzoom (starting a new LLC for example) and to outsource the occasional lawsuit to a legal firm... of all HG's issues, outsourcing legal isn't one of them. What's next? Start criticizing them for using ADP to process their payroll? (I have no idea if they do...)

So this is a first for me. I got the shipping notice from NY for my Chuck but there's no info about tracking, it says I'll get another email 'soon' about tracking. It's now been two days and still no tracking info. I sent it via trackable air mail so this is bizarre. I figure the toy will be in my hands before I get any info from NY about it. Well, that'd be the best case scenario I guess.
  4. They also spelled "gigantic" wrong differently on both recaps of the story... Just adding to the charm.
  5. I don't think they would charge more for a Tread than the Legioss.... Just not less. If they couldn't sell it for about the same price, they just wouldn't make it.
  6. I thought they posted the Legioss price previously and it was 25k... I'll have to go digging when I have more time. The tread is super simple. It would be more expensive, if it got made, because they would expect to sell very few units.

From what i heard, the overall line was considered to have done well. I'm sure we can point to a couple releases that did less well but I think it's overall been considered a success. Kind of surprised if it's being sent out to pasture.... Sorry though, I don't know of anything official.
  8. I'm sure the "final product may differ from prototype" small print is somewhere. These days they're pretty good about getting an artist proof in hand before doing the press shots. The press shots should be a good indication... these prototype shots are probably still "this is what we're going for!"

    Macross figures

You guys have it all wrong, in-universe Sheryl posed for that just after her 18th birthday. Nonsense you say? I say it's just as real as Sheryl is.
  10. Glad to see this is still happening! It was a frustrating review to do but they sure are pretty.

Bandai doesn't do HMR at wonder fest, they do it at Tamashii Nations.
  12. I can produce ten different samples of line art that will show you ten different pilot sizes.
  13. I thought the issue with going the hydrogen peroxide route is that it's a temporary fix and the items yellow again pretty quickly afterward. Is that right?
  14. Noel, the pilot is facing forward under the head. On traditional Legioss toys, the nose and cockpit swing up and over and the pilot faces down. On this toy, the cockpit pivots up and tucks under the head so the pilot would be upright and facing forward.
  15. Maybe that's what HG was hinting at their panel!
  16. I think this toy looks amazing in every mode but I would say that those panels under the intake in diver mode would drive me nuts if I couldn't get them symmetrical... fortunately, I'm pretty sure I can. I'd also bet that they create a lot more leg mobility so I'm all for it. That soldier mode cockpit trick is sweet.
  17. My guess on matters of color is that the licensees request official information from BigWest. BW probably sends them some colored art. There's nothing that says they can't deviate from the colored art but if you're a licensee and you want to get the rubber stamp approval, it's probably the path of least resistance to just emulate it as close as you can. If you're Bandai you can probably do whatever you want without questions asked. If you're Arcadia, you can probably do whatever you want but you're more likely to get some phone calls about it. I still don't understand why anyone would be upset about the head. Does it look like it has the fin head in FB 2012?
  18. Why would they change the head? It never transformed.
  19. To clarify on scale, there are officially stated stats that I've measured against and seems CMs and Toynami agreed on but they aren't consistently applied in the animation or the line art and there's line art that lists other sizes for the Legioss so it is always an imprecise science. Also, when toys are relatively small, all measurements are always approximate and can impact the scale calculation pretty easily.
  20. So many 4Gs about to hit eBay.
  21. I added the plug The ETA looks like a production test shot... Hence the whacky color.
  22. Sentinel brought Mospeada to Wonderfest:
  23. After a comment by Seto I was happy to find The Orville on Hulu and it definitely scratched my Star Trek itch in a way I did not expect. I think going lighter worked better for the genre than going darker.

Do you want a Kaname co-pilot figure and the little multi-drone accessories? Then you want the TV version. If you want another Hayate pilot instead of Kaname and don't care about the drones, get the movie version. If you want to install lil drakens you got for the SV-262 on one of your VF-31 toys, get the movie version. In all other respects they are the same.
  25. I wonder whatever happened to that Fewture Garland... it was allegedly rescheduled for this month... maybe there will be news at Wonderfest. I'll shop around this weekend after all the stores have it listed.
