  1. From the description of the kit on HLJ, it states that the kit parts are molded in colored plastic, so it doesn't need painting, and includes decals for her eyes.
  2. And the "alternate timeline" VF-2SS garage kit.
  3. Interested in a 1/72 if there is one available. Thanks Mike
  4. I was wondering that myself. Sorry for all the confusion on the Wave vs. Hasegawa. I'm actually glad it is Hasegawa because it will probably be a more affordable kit, when produced. Wave has a tendency to be a bit pricey on their new tool kits.
  5. According to HLJ, the 1/4000 SDF-1 is from Wave, not Hasegawa.
  6. http://omgmoments.org/misc/top-10-countries-having-strongest-air-force.html/10 I didn't know the United States had deployed Valkyries...
  7. Thanks for the replies. I thought each interpretation was interesting, but was most intrigued by the third, which is apparently the most accurate. It also amazes me that we are still finding "new" things to discuss on a 30 year old anime movie.
  8. I have a question about translation of "Macross: Do You Remember Love?" I have seen three different subtitled versions and there is one scene I would like clarification on. After Max defeats Milia on the Meltrandi ship, they hear Minmay's song. Max walks towards Milia and says "Beautiful" (referring to Milia) In subtitle version one, Milia replys "Handsome" (referring to Max). In subtitle version two, Milia replys "Beautiful" (referring either to Minmay's song or Max, depending on interpretaion). In subtitle version three, Milia replys "Beautiful?" (as a question, seemingly not understanding the concept). As near as I can tell, Max and Milia say the same word in Japanese, so the question is, which is the more accurate translation?
  9. I would like at least 2 X 272003 VALKRIE cockpit 2 X 272004 VF-1 Intaker and Nozzle in the near term and most likely would buy more over time.
  10. What are the planned hours of the con on Saturday? Unfortunately, that is the same day as Orangecon, and I will be vending there. But, I may be able to hustle over to MWCon afterwards.
  11. Someone here did a conversion some time ago using the Hasegawa battroid and the Arii Armored Valk for the armor bits. There was this topic http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=14522&hl=%20arii%20%20armored%20%20valkyrie&st=0 but I know there was a build tread by someone that actually showed the work done.
  12. Agreed! I have one or two of Valk009's kits. Now I just need to build them...
  13. The one time I saw that kit in person in their shop, it looked like a cast/recast of the Hobby Base Retppu vinyl kit.
  14. I think you are looking at September. In October, the 6th and 20th are Saturday.
  15. The main reason I would lobby for 1/1000 is the amount of anime ships that are available in that scale. Captain Harlock's Arcadia Space Cruiser Yamato honneamise's Oberth Plus the Polar Lights TOS and Movie era Enterprise plus conversion kits, the AMT Excelsior and Enterprise B. There are probably more out there that I don't know about or can think of. However, I fully understand if you are limited due to equipment capabilities. Regardless of size, I will be in for at least one.
  16. Have fun guys! I was hoping to make it this year, but life got in the way. Hopefully next year.
  17. Ooo! Ooo! Mr Kotter! That would be me.
  18. I'm in for one. Provided the project goes forward, do you have an estimated completion time? I'd like to have a ballpark idea of how long I have to save up.
  19. Hi Xeros, Have you heard any specific areas that were affected? MW member maximilian_jenius is from San Pedro de la Paz. I also hope you and your family and friends are all safe. Mike
  20. Depending on scale, I still wouldn't go beyond semi-gloss. On a 1/72 or smaller Valk, a high gloss finish makes it look toy-like. And as to your original question, even if you are going for a gloss finish, I would suggest painting the model in flat and then top coating with a clear gloss. Flat paints just seem to be more forgiving.
  21. Since is says "Miss Macross 2009" on top of the starboard intake and the thing on the tail looks like a crown, I am going to assume it is the Miss Macross Crown. Also, if you look really closely, the text around the crown on the tail says Miss Macross AD 2009.
  22. I second the idea of offering an upgrade set to V1 owners. Regardless of what you do, keep up the great work, Mike.
  23. Six. And I agree with 007-VF1, DYRL version.
  24. I hope the first two weekends in August are not one of the potential dates. Next year's IPMS Nationals are August 4th through the 7th in Phoenix and I really want to attend MW Con next year (I have to attend the Nationals because I am on the planning committee and part of the host chapter).
