  1. Wow, GH! I love the detail on the base. Truly outstanding and inspiring.
  2. Aha! I think I was having the same problem with mine at one time. You start it up, it goes chugga-chugga-chugga, and then stops. With mine, if I would hold open the air on my airbrush, it would start chugging again. I think too much back pressure was preventing the diaphram from moving. I was reading the manual you sent, and I wonder if this is your problem: 2. Open Bleeder Valve by turning Hex Nut, then Knurled Stem counterclockwise, approximately two turns, this prevents compressor from having to start under load. DO NOT close Bleeder Valve completely as Compressor may not start under pressure. If you have already tried this, then never mind. I will have to try this on mine. My solution to the orignal problem was to get a quieter, piston compressor. If this fixes my problem, it will be nice to have a backup.
  3. I have to admit that, until I joined MW, I didn't even know that people repainted toys or customized them. I saw some repaint jobs at MW Con last year that were incredible. I prefer models over toys, but it still takes artistic skill to repaint and modify a toy to make it look less "toylike".
  4. honneamise, Why not make the transport shuttle in 1/1000? That way, it would be in scale with the Oberth, would be small enough for your pressure pot, and would be easier on our wallets. If my calculations are correct, it would come out to about 1.8 inches / 4.5 cm. You could have a whole line of small ships and transports. Think of the diorama possibilities!
  5. What, are you nuts? This looks great! It never ceases to amaze me that the quality of many of the model buildups on MW is so outstanding.
  6. That you are a slightly bigger geek than the rest of us?
  7. My appologies, Keith. I was wondering if we might have been speaking two different forms of English. In this case, you were speaking English, and I was speaking American. Thanks for the brief (and polite) tutorial.
  8. Wow! I never would have thought to use superglue in such a manner. I never would have thought you could run it through an airbrush.
  9. Good Lord! After seeing that put together, there is no wonder its called "Monster". Excellent work, and I am eagerly awaiting your call for payment (even if my wallet isn't).
  10. How and for what purpose are you shooting cyanoacrylates through an airbrush? Inquiring minds want to know...
  11. This looks like such a wonderful kit, I am going to have to increase my order to 2. Keep up the great work!
  12. Since I won't be attending either AX or SDCC, I will be coming specifically for MWCon. I would choose July 2nd over July 23rd though. How nutty does LA get around Fouth of July (i.e. holiday traffic, room availability, etc.)?
  13. The AZ is for Arizona, my home for the last 20 years. And I have gone by the nickname Rhino ever since grade school. Put them together...AZRhino. BTW, I was NMRhino for a while, but I moved back.
  14. I am assuming this will be in 1/6th scale? If so, my vote would be for Pirotess.
  15. Hi John, I got the kits in the mail yesterday, and spent several minutes looking them over. These are going to be a hoot to build! What are your recommendations for painting the rubber torso for the seated pilot? Just primer it first and then shoot your favorite paint over it? I am eagerly awaiting the instuctions and paint guides. AZRhino
  16. I suffer from AMS. It doesn't stop my building, but it severely slows it down. For those of you that don't know, AMS is "Advanced Modelers Syndrome", a terrible affliction that makes you see all the flaws in a kit, and the desire, if not the actual ability, to fix them. So if you see someone with AMS, please, walk up to them, smack them in the back of the head and say "Just build it!" Thank you for your suppprt.
  17. Don't worry, honneamise. I turn 41 in about two months. We'll keep the young pups in line. "It's bad enough that I have to grow old, why should I have to grow up?"
  18. Wow! You must have been beaten by the "bad luck stick". I have never had that kind of problem with Tamiya paints. I wonder if you got a bad batch, or it got contaminated some how. Since it is acrylic, it should be dry to the touch within minutes after shooting it through an airbrush. What did you use to thin it? I'm not saying you did anything wrong, I'm just trying to get a better picture of the overall situation. The other possibility is something like mold release on the plastic. As for the Tamia smoke, I couldn't say on that one. The only thing I might have done differently is seal it with Future before doing the weathering, but with all the bad things that happened, I don't know if that would have helped. As for fixing it, unfortunately it sounds like you will have to strip the old paint off and try again. Better luck on the next try.
  19. Any of the aftermarket stuff available in Japan. Turned metal head lasers, weapons sets, etc.

    Global

Lose the "jazz patch" and Zappa is almost dead-on for Global.
  21. Hi John, Please modify my order to one set plus one single standing figure. BTW, how tall are the standing figures?
  22. Dammit John! I was actually thinking about giving this one a miss, and you have to include a picture of the figure next to the booster. It really gives a great perspective of the size. ***sigh*** Sign me up for one. BTW, looking great!
  23. Is anyone out there checking into if/when Mari or any other guest speakers might be available? I'm refraining from voting because it is easier for me to know when the Con will be, and plan accordingly.
  24. Kylwell, Saw the rusted Zaku on SSM and it looks great! Congratulations on placing in the "Legs" contest as well. Metal Fatigue
