  1. Oh i have more than Rex I also have the monster, Defender, 2 Mechs from gasaraki, a Madcat.A couple of EVA units, and some others.
  2. They taking entries yet? I have 2 or 3 models i want to enter befor i go to the desert. One you have seen grow on here.
  3. There is a noticeable drop in visual depth and clarity of the new animations. Look at the oldefr ones and they are vibrant and have alot of visual depth through color use. Every shadow or speck of dust was painted and drawn. Now it seems visually flat, not as detailed, and grey. The vibrance is no longer there. GITS> SAC is a good series but is a good example of the visual flattening of the characters compared to such movies like Lensman, Wicked city, Gunnm, Cyber City, and Venus Wars. Makes you wonder what happened in the last 10 years. Eugimon listed what could be considered the last of the visually stunning animation i have seen, with a few exceptions. The best example of the loss would be DYRL? compared to M0.
  4. Glane21 sounds familiar. I think your right, he was an ok guy didnt flame or start any bad arguments. If his profile is still active we should send him some PMs. It would show up in his Email and let him know we are here for him. If he is the person who had the family accident.
  5. Communication is one of the largest ways to grow in this hobby. If the buildups werent available we wouldnt be able to ask questions and get a visual answer. We would be left guessing how he did that and get a descriptive setence with no pics for a good guide. Roy if you are reading please allow the buildups to be allowed Qand A is the heart of model building especially for the newer members here. I have seen this hobby decline because new model builders cannot get a good explanation of what they see so they give up. They dont happen too often and usually are not repeat subjects. Its also great seeing how others do something it gives you ideas on how to tackle similar problems on your own kits.
  6. Fially able to study the videos closely(on hugescreen tv) I can clearly see the problem you are talking about and your solution seems spot on. I so want one of these, And there are plenty of huge SOFT grassy fields here in the UK to practaice on I hope you find simple solutions for the problems your experiencing. On the matter of wing mounted ordnance those could cause alot of other CG and roll issues.
  7. PM sent luke. i noticed some aerodynamic oddities about the design which could help. Sean
  8. Give it a coat of primer. It will help in the pics.
  9. Coby. if all works out well i want to be first on the list Hell lets start the list now he he
  10. Sweet! Excellent finish there. It doesnt look as cluttered as other buildups of the kit i have seen. You executed it perfectly. Detail balance is great.
  11. Most intake fans are made of titanium. So a dull aluminum or steel with a light wash will look good enough once in the intake.
  12. Go to backyardarmor.com. they have Gunze products for sale there for decent prices. Also give Squadron.com a try. its a mail order model company that has been around for decades, they offer hobby kits, materials, and references from around the world. They offer both Gunze and Tamiya products
  13. I think roy is closing it because there are already a good model and toy thread in this part there is no need for a how to thread. I have no real problem with it. Maybe he could consider moving some of the more relevant buildups and examples here so the information can still be accessed. Your build is going great so far Ido i like the results you have achieved.
  14. Oh i almost forgot. Kazuki i am thinking M.G. Rex I just hope that mike finishes the new monster soon. I so want that kit. Maybe ill sell my 1/160 on Ebay once i get the big monster there are no other kits in the macross line that are 1/160 so its kind of the odd man out
  15. You have no idea how difficult the plastic used in these kits is to work with. I was using liquid cement on the parts of my defender that werent glued together. i let it dry for a day or 2 and then go sand. the slightest pressure from sanding would pop the seam againbecause the mating surfaces on the plastic were so uneven. Or you would get the cracking crumbling plastic that was mentioned before. Building these you sometimes have to be more careful than an archeologist removing 2000 year old pottery from a dig. The Monster had plastic so tough in some places that my sand paper was wearing out before the plastic would. I actually had to go as rough as 100 grit to literally file the plasic down to even it out as much as i could before i applied putty. These kits may assemble simply but they test your skills and patience in seam filling.
  16. May i have permission to make a model of that yellow fighter aircraft? I like the design it has an old world quality to it. Your a great visual designer.
  17. In 1/18th we could even fit those gas turbine motors in it and make it flyable yeah! Maybe even make it walk and transform on its own! Just kidding I would tke a 1/32 scale one if it were variable or not. A VF-1 isnt much bigger than a F-16 so it wouldnt take up alot of shelf space even in 1/32 scale.
  18. A NEW Destroid to go with the Monster? Maybe even a Cheyenne?
  19. Will the valk be variable? HE HE
  20. Hoary Fracking Hell That is one sweet Tornado. I like the 1/10 scale sturmtiger too I want to convert a Tamiya 1/16 scale one into a sturmmorser. MMMMM more sweet tigery goodness
  21. How about a 1/35 scale Destroid Tomahawk I would love to see one of those.
  22. Same idea but for modelers. Im lookig at it from a cost saving point of view. Whats easier? He has to remake the same legs for each destroid OR He makes one set of legs and then the 3 torsos seperate. It would make it easier for anyone who would master the parts for kits like these. Whenever you order a kit you would get a full destroid it wouldnt be a conversion kit. Plus these would be 1/72 scale MODELS, not toys.
  23. Im the man to talk to about construction issues but i only know of the same 2 companies everyone else on here knows of. If anyone needs advice of help once they get into building one just send a PM or Email my way. Pics would help to describe the problem.
  24. Nice work Mechmaster! I didnt realise how small the other scales were compared to the 1/72 scale one! If the captain were to do a 1/72 scale series of destroids i would be on it like a fat kid on a cupcake. Like the battle pod he could easily make other variants based on the same legs. All he would have to do is master 1 set of legs for 3 of the destroids. And then make the top parts from the waist up over time. Provided he makes a Tomahawk first
  25. Id go with the cheaper one. I have built one from them and was not disappointed. The recast was good enough to be disassembled, stripped, reassembled and painted with no loss of detail. I seriously wouldnt worry about the resin landing gear guys its strong enough trust me.
