  1. Toys are for boys! Are we not men! How are things coming jade?
  2. Considering the topic of the shirt the person writing the phrase could have ben stoned
  3. Actually both models from the box are almost 95% line art accurate so they dont need much more in the way of detailing. I just added little things to the monster to make it look a little more tank like. Both were fun to build and had no major issues aside from the seams not always lining up, but you get that with early 80s kits. If anyone can get their hands on them i highly reccommend them. Im still looking for the others in 1/72 scale but havnt found them at a non insane price. Ill take any construction medium, plastic, vinyl or resin. If anyone has one especially a tomahawk hidden away please let me know.
  4. How much ya want for the defender? Or i could refurbish it for you . People had mentioned they wanted more pics of completed models and a few threads had been started to show them so thought id post my own If anyone else has COMPLETED destroids feel free to post them here. We can make this the dedicated destroid thread
  5. It fell through since i couldnt find a good way to replicate water. I still have some ideas but i need the 1/72 monster first
  6. Unfortunately the kit was partially started when i got it, and i had to leave some seams because the plastic was actually shattering with the slightest amount of pressure, I think the guy kept the kit in an outdoor shed where heat and cold exposure made the plastic brittle. The hips were the worst. One crumbled and had to be rebuilt, so i did the best i could considering the age of the plastic. If i could get a new one or a Tomahawk i would be able to handle the seams better but this one tied my hands. It didnt even come with decals i had to hand paint all the markings.
  7. Grayson, I built it back in december it was an early christmas present from my wife Kazuki, What other details would you like i can take more pics
  8. Valk, both the VF-1s in the background are the 1/48th UD ones Im waiting on a decal sheet from devin so i can finish them. Jade, the wheels and canopy arent on the Strike Valk because i dont want too many snappable bits on them when i do the decaling D.A.S. the mud is easy to do. I use a acrylic medium mixed with tamiya OD and stipple it on with a wide brush. I use the same method on my 1/35th armor as well. Im still looking for the other destroids in 1/72 scale. I will be getting mikes new monster Im suprised that destroids dont get more love on here. They are just as fun as Valks.
  9. These are 2 completed models i have had but never had good pics of. Until now ENJOY! The Monster is the ARII 1/160 kit and the Defender is the IMAI 1/72 kit. Both built from the box, The only exception is the extra detail added to the surface of the monster.
  10. Tiger v 2.0 done. The camo, wash, drybrusn and major details are all complete. The pioneer tools are drying as i type this. Tomorrow it will go to the museum for some real tank weathering Enjoy the pics its the last where she will be clean.
  11. Perfect setup on the equipment. Everything is exactly where it should be. Be sure that the -60 generator isnt connected while weapons loading is going on
  12. I use my T-34 for BB testing Id use the raptor for climbing testing. My wife wants one for christmas hehe
  13. Every time i go to the hobby shop i look at the 105 and want to get it but id like to finish the stockpile i have first. I always liked the look of the "Thud". Tiger is ready for paint. All the base construction is done. Im leaving the tools off for detail painting. I put the spare tracks on now since they quite often got painted over in the spring after the winter white wash was scrubed off. The crews would have to repaint some tanks due to the fact the old paint was scrubbed off with the whitewash so they would just paint the track links too. I had to use some links off the plastic tracks in the kit. The Tamiya kit doesnt come with provisions to mount them so i have to scratch build those details. More to come tomorrow when the paintwork os done
  14. Jade send me all the pics you can of the cockpit and the crew compartment. There is alot of detail in the kit already but i know more can be added. My Email is in my MW profile.
  15. OK when is the battroid version coming out? I wish Hasegawa would release this stuff as an add on too i dont want another VF-0
  16. I had never thought of using fine tipped sharpies that way The effect looks great Im going to have to try that on my 1/35 MI-24 Hind when i get to it. I wanted to post these last night but was having camera troubles As i said rolling chassis and then some. I managed to complete the zimmerit. Zimmerit is a anti magnetic paste applied to german tanks during the war to keep russian infantry from slapping magnetic mines on the hull. It keeps the mine away from the metal, and reduces the surface area it could grip on. I simulated this with Squadron white putty. Apply the putty in a 1mm thick layer then use a plastic comb cut up into different pieces to use as screeding tools. Drag the finer portions of the comb through the putty before it dries and you have instant zimmerit. In 1.35 scale the method is the same but you use an exacto razor saw. Not many early tigers had this applied but i have found some photo references of it.
  17. Does that 21 have fast packs too? If so id say that kit ranks above the ClubM one in detail and options. Hope you get your hands on one. If you do could you send me some good pics of the fast packs so i can scratch build some for my 1/48th YF-21?
  18. Actually im suprised there has been no kind of model contest on here at all. If there is one be sure to wait until after january to have it since ill be leaving the country for 4 months soon If anyone does want them though just say so on here and pm me with price and address and ill get back to you. Im not looking to scalp anyone on them since i already have an unbreakable set of them
  19. Tiger V1.5 is a bb shooting one Tiger 1.0 has been parted out though. The BBs wouldnt do much damage though they bounce off me at 3 feet away and i dont feel them
  20. Anybody want a spare set of tiger1 tracks? I still have the metal ones left from the one that died so i wont need the ones in this kit I have started to apply the zimmerit but i ran out of white putty so i cant finish that til tomorrow But since i know this thing like the back of my hand i should have a rolling chassis by tonight
  21. GO with option B company. The gear may be resin but there are fewer shrinkage issues. The G SYSTEM ONE IS THE ONE WITH THE WONKY LEG! Dont give up good fit for the sake of metal landing gear. The resin gear is more than up to the task of supporting the weight. Id rather have better fit overall than wonky legs and metal landing gear.
  22. Ill be sure to see how well that raptor stands up to my R/C tracked vehicle soon Some kid around here keeps running his in the street and i almost ran it 3 times. Next time it out its going to meet tiger tank V2.0 . The thing is floppier in real life than the commercial lets on.
  23. What i meant is thats what you would have to save monthly there is no payment plan lol.
  24. MMMMMMMMMMMM Sweet tigery goodness
  25. He He I just like to maximize my time. My wife is usually in the room with me when im working on my models so i spend time with her while i work. Either that or she is studying for school. Im in the military so after work i dont have many other concerns. Model building is my main hobby, then fixing real tanks at the museum, Then my car. I am sure to take care of my wife and work first. I also have many models going on at the same time ,half of which you havnt seen I have the new 88 flak cannon from DML along with their early tiger, 2 Starships, A sheridan tank, the Chieftain from Reign of Fire . Alot sit for a while until i can find good references them. Once i find them i am able to quickly build them. Model construction is usually quick for me, I like to take more time on my final finish. If you guys ever want to know how i do something just ask it wont be any trouble to go into detail about a method i use. We also dont have any kids yet , But i have been trying to shift to chemically safer methods of construction and painting for the day we do. Things like acrylic paints, quick dry childproof bottle cements, and if i ever have to use thinners I try to find a low odor one as well.
