  1. I'm a believer that bigger toys should be more complex to trasnform so that doesn't bother me. Take a look at transformers animated leader class megatron; so simple to transform that it feels like a kids toy which is seen as a negative by some people at that size/price. Sure more practical transformation are simple ones, but maybe it also loses its appeal when it is too simple and easy? What yamato need to do is make joint that don't wear out over time. X-axis joints + Y-axis joints that 'click' vs balljoints which might go loose over time. The accuracy of the toys are good, just they need to focus on toys that can withstand time. We all still think of yamato toys as being more like "tough model kits" not indestructible chunky munky or tonka toys. Also smaller toys don't undergo the same stress as larger stuff. See with larger toys the weight must be considered too. Some of the more extreme action poses are just not going to be easy to pull off with larger toys. Take the koenig monster for example. Massive feet! The joint supporting a kicking pose is going to have to be very strong. On a small version of that, you don't have to worry about those things because it is tiny. Yamato's Qrau is an example of a toy that can barely stand up without it having to lean forward. My hip joints are loose and it suffers from floppy limb syndrome because it is back-heavy and the hips have lost friction to support the weight. If it was tiny like the 1/100 you wouldn't need to worry about this. It is "strong" and the basic design of the Qrau means it isn't likely to break, (zentradi mecha seem to be much less complex than valks) but the sheer size and bulk and weight means you are going to need to solve problems that are not there at small sizes of toys. This is why I am happy toynami went with a smaller size for their mass produced valks. Less complexity means less chance of errors or mistakes. Then as they get better make them larger and more detailed. (like the masterpieces but suited for mass production for buyers who are not the "mint-in-box-lock-me-away-in-a-vault-for-50-years" collectors.)
  2. Looks good. Maybe they purposely did that to make to test demand for a black one? Then later decide to release the combo? I ended up deciding to buy a red CMs legioss+tread after watching the collection dx review. I hate myself now.
  3. Not me. Would have bought one if there was no other macross toys to buy though. (like how I eventually ended up buying a vf-1 cannon fodder)
  4. Become a Manwhore
  5. Ok then bandai should do the mospeada legioss and tread. Whatever. Arrrgh just give us a good toy. The mech doesn't even look all that complex. Just a flying brick.
  6. That's why I stick to games like geometry wars where the enemies are numerous but underpowered. Smash tv and robotron were my two fave arcade shooters. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Nintendo DS Bangai-o (eng version) is going to be like. Seriously treasure should make a macross shooter: you are a valk in spacewith fast packs, outnumbered by zentradi fighter pod, reguld, and qrau, so you must survive endless waves of zentradi attacks. Battroid mode gives you omni directional attacks with the gunpod, fighter allows you to move around the area at high speed to avoid missiles by boosting away from them at high speed, and the gerwalk mode is something in between (you can fire the gunpod in any direction, but you suffer in speed so no quick micromissile escape. No "forced scrolling" nonsense which is just a hold over from the arcade days when people had to line up to play a game and the length of a game had to be short and sweet. Just let the player move to whereever he wants in the field. (ie defender style.)
  7. Looks good. But does beagle have a good reputation for toys that aren't likely to break easily? That's the only thing left for me to worry about. I like both modes of this toy.
  8. Both of them should work together to give the fans the toys that don't break and stop fighting each other. Toynami just let yamato make the alpha and beta (legioss and tread) fighters already. Then re-release robotech versions of them with characters from shadow chronicles with toynami changes to them. We all just want something that doesn't self destruct after a few seconds looking at it. So does anyone know if jack archer as a chunky munky would ever happen? That'd be cool!
  9. The funny thing is that we know hasbro likes to make jets fat but that's ok for the alpha and beta since they are chunky designs anyway. Can't wait to buy the leader class Alpha and Beta Fighter.
  10. I have to say I'm not a big fan of gimmick like that in toys where stuff is springloaded and you can smash yourself in the face with the projectiles. I wish effort went more into getting the batpod to act as the escape pod from the tumbler itself. Looks like good value for money. But they should work on making a collectors toy which tries to go for a realistic batpod feature.
  11. I've never actually done that. Just a suggestion. So if it fails don't blame me hehe. Maybe use a piece of that twist tie that comes with transformers figures? See how that goes. Maybe you might even have to sand it down to give it a rounded shape on the surface and a flat shape on the base that will be glued.
  12. Naked gleaming Ariel figure eh?
  13. I think the future will be transformers. Just pretend you are an ordinary harmless object, then transform into a robot to surprise attack before the enemy knows what the hell is going on.
  14. After the robotech live action movie with alpha and beta fighters comes out and toys of the movie are released from hasbro/takara and mass produced, that is when we'll get the ultimate alpha and beta toy that links up.
  15. Ahh I seem to remember a long time ago a mention that yamato might have shaved that bit off thinking it was a defect! I don't know if that was true or not but it might explain why yours is smooth. Yes the GBP does have a "chair" that covers the gap at the top of your valk which also adds extra reinforcement. Try that. What you could do is superglue a piece of plastic there. Say a portion of a tooth from a fine-tooth comb?
  16. Yeah the back collar piece should look "sunken inward". Maybe these bits that were there to hold it up, wore off? Do you see the lumps that are there on the back piece? Or just a smooth surface? ^Is that little thing worn off? Also check on the back if the thing that sticks out of the hole in the back isn't sticking out. Sometime people forget to fold that part so that it's not protruding out.
  17. I would recommend a cannon fodder next. It is seen so much in the tv series, and the cannon fodder has the tv bubble hands.
  18. Will there be a chunky munky jack archer though?
  19. I haven't watched macross frontier yet but I wish there was a alpha and omega fighter. "The beginning and the end." And the vf-25 = the messiah. This would be like a macross pisstake on the robotech/mospeada alpha(legioss) and beta(tread) fighter. Front section is "the beginning", the back half is "the end". It is something Dr. Chiba would invent in to fight the space ghosts. Kawamori can send me a check in the mail for my brilliant idea. Good work Mr March. You should do some more stuff for macross zero like the Destroid Cheyenne, and Octos, and "monster with claws", next. I love the octos. It's unique for the macross universe. Reminds me of the old mobile suit gundam Amphibious Zeon mecha with the whole "one eyeball" motif. I wonder if yamato will have the balls to release a transforming octos toy one day? I love that it can roll on the land as well as hide in the sea and surprise attack.
  20. lol
  21. They could release both RA though can't they? Just like you got robotech masterpiece veritechs and macross 1/100 vf-1s. So too could you get beagle masterpiece mospeada Ride Armor and the toynami robotech cyclone.
  22. Well if the aliens were poisonous and could spread diseases that can wipe out humanity and the planet is crawling with intelligent zombie aliens whose goal is to expand, then yeah the death star could actually be a life saver. (ie the flood from halo? ) Depends on what we find out there imo. You can find an alien planet, study their tech. Reverse engineer it for yourself, and become more technologically sophisticated from that knowledge. Maybe use the alien's disease as a bioweapon to cheaply wipe out other hostile planets not under your control. And without costing that much. I think a ball like mecha like the reguld for space would be useful. It's got the omni directional guns on it, looks basic and easy to make, and the legs mean you could just drop them in the ocean, then when they get to land they can walk around the edge of the land and guard it. Set up the base. Being high off the ground gives them a good view of the area. If you are scared, just jump back into the water again and hide so you don't alert anything. If the surface is full of tall alien grass and large plants the height allows you to see above. It really depends on what you find. I think the ewoks were doomed when the walkers came out in starwars: the extra height made it easy to shoot at small targets lying down on the ground and giving a good view of what's up ahead. The aliens that we fight might not even care if you attack from space, and might just be ignorant of the rich resources they have which they don't find valuable. They may see those resources as a pest and give them to you willingly and pay you money to get rid of it. They might just choose to live a simplistic non-materialistic life (the mayan islanders in macro zero?) with no weapons so that other aliens don't see them as a threat. Maybe they have evolved beyond humans and can live in space a short time without ships? And if you try to *kill them they will just move off the planet to some place else? The beings in macross 7 were interdimensional beings. Maybe these aliens just feed off energy from your soul or something that humans don't understand and take control of us from within our bodies by possesion. How are you going to fight something like that? You first need to understand that aliens are not going to fight you in ways you expect to be fought. *if anything we would be the bad guys in that scenario and would abduct them to study them and learn how they can fly around, create their own bubble shields, and survive in such a hostile environment like space with no oxgen. But on the other hand if we are being overrun by zombie aliens that are causing us to get aids-like virus with no cure, and we are about to be extinct, (like the aliens that were dying in space battleship yamato?) they might feel sorry for us and allow it. I think by then we might have superhero type soldiers: something like the people in the justice league but designed for military use. But that's assuming scientists can understand the aliens own technology and biology and abilities. If we could mass clone an army of Superman (but with the ability to live in space) we wouldn't need space fighters.
  23. I wish treasure made a macross shoot em up. They did astro boy on GBA and Hajime no Ippo. So now with all that experience with Bangai-o, I think they could make a cool side-scrolling macross shmup. What do you guys think? Everytime I do the missile swarm move in Banga-O I think of Qrau in macross.
  24. Lowering his voice makes him more animalistic. Sort of reassures you this guy is a freak of nature. It makes "sense" because he is all about hiding and disguising himself despite being annoying. There are really three people: 1. batman (the tough guy who fights crime) 2. bruce wayne (as himself - acting normal with alfred) 3. bruce wayne (as the playboy - remember he is only acting like a playboy to disguise what he really does with spare time as his butler suggested him to)
