I'm going to try to get a part time job at a local toy store just so I can see if I can get one of these below retail... even though the idea of buying toynami is distastefull to me, but I like this alpha sculpt enough to dish out some money for it... maybe I'll just wait wait and see if it drops to VF-1 prices... 25 bucks.... which... is about 26 dollars to much if you ask me... that's right, I wanna be making money for taking one of those MPC VF-1's.

looks like it was some sort of cluster munition... I think modern weapons of that type are usually anti-infantry or anti-airfield.... but since those bomblets were suspended in the air for a while before detination, perhaps they are some sort of proactive chaff system? designed to detonate a multi missile barrage perhaps? and though the explosions looked large, both guld and isamu seemed pretty unconcerned so I doubt the actual damage potential is all that high... reinforcing the idea that it is some sort of defensive weapon rather than offensive. Cluster bomb bomblets don't glow or look like chaff.... at least not in this day and age. Mostly chaff. But still those explosions... argh. Sure they weren't too worried about them because they were yelling at each other about who could beat the Ghost/Saving Myung.... they are both pretty cocky.... both not fearful of death. lol well, that's why I'm thinking it some sort of defensive weapon... like super chaff... bomblets that give off an IR signature to draw off fire and forget type missiles and then secondary explosives to prematurely detonate smart or guided weapons... I further postulate that the large number of chaff/bomblets, wide dispersion area is designed to compansate for the mass missile barrages that seem popular in the macross universe.

well, think about it, they need to wait until macross zero is finished before they know what the story will be for their new robotech series. But how to stretch out an OVA series into a full broadcast season... that's the question... maybe they'll do it dragonball style and have whole epsidoes that are nothing but flashbacks of the previous two episodes....

This should really be a pinned topic.. usually it happens whenever a new toy is released by yamato.... Really, companies do not have to justify their prices to the consumers... I don't know or understand this mode of thinking, that somehow manufacturers, resellers, should price their wares at the cost of manufacturing. How in the world would these companies grow? also, if you think you're buying thes toys as an investment, you're probably kidding yourself... the reason why all those old toys are worth so much is because people back then didn't think of them as collectors items.. they got them and trashed them, only a few people held onto them in good condition. It's not because of the value of the cheap tin or zinc alloys that those toys were stamped out of. BTW... a yamato VF-1 is way more complicated in terms of parts, detail and posability than the MPC convoy.

thought the teaser was pretty cool... I've always liked the action choreography in the blade movies and this one looks like it will deliver as well... and damn... jessica is looking fierce!

just spend the money and get yourself some takatoys stickers.. worth the money and the time it takes to cut them out.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 1/48 jetfire either... has a large measure of sentimental value for me...

I don't know that the series had that much more substance.. so much of it was filler and revolved around non central characters... more background than real character arcs. all the main stuff gets worked out in DYRL and certain aspects, like the technology and structure seem much more thought out than in the series... I voted for DYRL...
