it's not about the scale but the actual size of the toy that yamato seems to care about. the 1/100 vf-0 is already going to be in line with the vf-11. so roughly, a 1/60 vf-0 would have been 1/48 vf-1 size. I think this thing is plenty big for the price point.

I've had my 1/48 drop in fighter mode w/ FP from my monitor to desk to ground and from dresser to ground with nothing broken. And nothing more than less than a foot in battroid. sorry to hear about your uhm, breakage?

I get more like 3 degrees than 30 on my 1/48s ( 1a, 1s reissue, 1j) I think it was just an idea that didn't work out as well as they hoped but enough for them to leave it in... i.e. no one cried and had fits about it.

In regards to 1/48 transformation... there are really only a few extra steps... and the added complexity pays off in my mind due to the fact that you can deploy the arms in gerwalk without having to detach/swing down the legs. plus... intergrated heat shield! so cool.

Get the takatoys. completely worth the money. One sheet will sticker up two valks, my experience and experience of other posters as well. Plus, the type and colours are much sharper on the takatoys. Anasazi also has custome decals and stickers, haven't used them but customizers like WM cheng use them. Don't worry about cutting either, a good straight edge and a sharp x-acto will work fine, besides, the flashing on the stock stickers is so large you'd have to cut them anyways.

I completely agree, the MPC fastpacks are more boring than the yamato fast packs. But seriously, there's no way you can say the MPC fastpacks are more detailed... even leaving out the strike cannon... you know that the yamato FP's have removable covers for the missile launchers... and have little removable missiles for that compartment, right?

My 1/48 with fast pack took a nose dive twice. once off my monitor, which then hit the table then the floor. nothing broken. And again off my dresser, I dunno, about 4 ft, nothing broken. Both times in fighter mode though. It has taken smaller spills in fighter mode with the fast packs on. and it's still ticking. if yer only gonna get one valk, get a 1/48 w/ FP. if yer gonna collect these things, get a 1/48 w/ FP and *then* get the other stuff... like the 1/60's and the bandais.... the mpc's are horrible and really, that money could have been put to another 1/48.

battroid doesn't look bad at all, but I'm not really likeing the fighter and gerwalk modes... specially the gerwalk mode. It looks like the body is squashed a bit. Kinda sad, I'm hoping yamato will do another sculpt revision before they're released but I doubt it.

I like the vf-1o scultp so far.. I agree, I would like to see the skull and UN SPACY symbols printed on... The hips are fugly, but look to be not so much worse that the hips on a 1/60. offtopic: I vote we start a pinned topic: what do you think about yamato business practices? It seems like every time a new toy or toy news is released people keep trying to make it into discussion on yamato and their business model.

I dunno... when I first opened up my q-rau I felt like it cost too much.. actually, I think it should be in the twenty dollar range. There just isn't that much going on... a pretty simple paint job, the interior feels... I dunno, half done and yeah, miria really should have some articulation for this price. But there is just something so very striking about the design. I can't say I'm thrilled about the price but I'm happy with my purchase. I keep it with my 1/48's and other toys I care about, rather than with my "other" toys. heh.

uhm, the yf-19 isn't supposed to be white... that tan colour is the right colour for it. Asked my GF about it, she's a materials engineer and she says that it is mostly the UV rays that cause plastics to yellow, so keep em away from sun and florescent lighting. ... she also laughed at me and called me a geek. so sad now. sob sob.

Saw Dawn of the Dead, did not see the original... Music (or muzak) was hilarious. for me, best part of the movie.

hey, pretty cool. I have a 1/60 scale rx-178 that I like to pose next to my 1/60 yammie stuff... but 1/48 is looking so much sweeter. I would like to see more pics as you complete that thing.

have the original version of the 1/60 VF-1s, been out of box sine it first came out and no signs of yellowing. Live in south orange county. mine has not been in direct sun. my 1/48 vf-la hikaru (first release) has also been out of box and has had direct sun, and also has no signs of yellowing. My jetfire, before it mysteriously disapeared, was yellow... yellow like like the teeth of a smoker.
