I think it's about time the govenrment cancelled this bloated project... the commanche just has no place in the modern battlefield... it was supposed to be a stealthy recon chopper... if iraq and afghanistan taught us anything is that using helos in recon/behind enemy line manuvers is a really quick way of putting pilot lives at risk. The osprey on the other hand makes sense for the type of war america is going to be fighting.. they'll need to get armour and infantry into enemy territory without the benefit of existing runways for larger cargo planes... Iraq was a prime example of this, if we had better lift technology, Turkey and Saudi Arabia wouldn't have been as important to our invasion plans.

I think for the most part, yamato wants to keep their valks in close physical size to each other rather than in same scale.

The 1/48s are definitely worth the money... for what you get, I don't think they're over priced... even compared to MPC convoy or SOC toys. The level of detail craftsmanship is just amazing... and it is just the best rendition of a valkyrie that you can buy short of making/buying a custom model.

For sure the takatoys are better than any sticker sheet from yamato, I just meant to say the 1j set isn't as bad as previous sets. at least you can make out the words this time around.

oooh, price drop. they used to be twenty for the vf's and ten for the FP's. So now you have no excuse... go and buy! edit: oops, I made a mistake... I bought the VF and FP sticker sets together and it came out to 19/76 after tax and shipping from valkyrie-exchange... the price has always been around ten bucks.

Arcee doesn't look too bad when you take that big red thing off her chest. But yeah, I have to agree... transformers have been pretty horrible for a while now here's hoping the binaltech line keeps going strong.

I completely agree with the two valks per sticker sheet claim... I did up my 1a and my 1s with one sheet... But, to be fair, the sticker sheet that comes with the VF-1j isn't too bad, I ended up just using them instead of ordering a takatoys sheet... but man... that flashing is a pain. You gotta love the efficient design of the takatoys sheet! And yes... once you've seen the takatoys stickers versus the stock yammies you'll realize the twenty bucks is money well spent... course, when you do get your fastpacks there is a sticker sheet for them too.

I've used the stickers from takatoys... they are very nice. the colors are deeper and more crisp than the stock stickers and the lettering is a nice crisp black, much easier to make out the actual words. If you're going to sticker up your valk, it's worth the twenty bucks... they just look so much better.

meh, I agree, prime/os is pretty lame... just OS with a prime head sticking out... but I'm thinking arcee looks pretty good.

can't say I'm too excited but I'm waiting to see his combined form with fatimus prime.

guys, don't forget... the question asked if the future decepticons would be 1:24 scale and the hasbro answer was future CARS (emphasis mine) would be 1:24... I think they gave themselves an out for other vehicles.

I have a rx-178 perfect grade model (1/60 scale) so I put my 1/60 VF-1s next to it.

yeah, I had this happen as well... for me the bottom layer was sticky and got dirty real fast, I still opted for the takatoys stickers... besides, couldn't figure out a way to get the stickers to seperate reliably

I dunno if they will ever finish sentinels... There was an attempt at a CG robotech (robotech 3000) a couple of years back that most fans hated... featured non transforming mech designs... don't remember when in the timeline it was supposed to have taken place.. I wanna say during Sentinels but I think I'm wrong. Currently there is a traditional animation series in the works: robotech 2004 but I dunno anything else about it but I think it's taking place around new generation time since it's supposed to feature alphas. oh and... I hope Maek adopts macross plus into robotech because that would be super k3wl! ...please don't hurt me...

I dunno about the claim that convoy is 200% more toy than a 1/48 valk... I have both and I have to say there are a bunch of things wrong.. QC problems on my convoy as well. fer instance: 1. red paint spilled during the chroming process on his grill.. paint is fused in now. 2. chrome on his body near the head.. luckily I got this out without trouble. 3. right body flap ( the part that folds out near the wheel well in cab mode) will not stay in the open position. 4. loose arm communicator in left arm. 5. left chest piece piece does not like to stay closed in cab mode. and then there are the design issues: 1. poor matrix light up button placement, hinders head movemend. 2. the big freaking hole in his head. 3. he can barely hold his own gun. 4. you pretty much have to take the shoulder thing off of megs for prime to be able to hold him properly. 6. convoy tends to lean forward or backwards... mine has fallen over on his own weight before. 7. feet and head tend to pop out easily from their ball joints. So if I consider that a yammie 1/48 has way more points of articulation, has a more detailed paint job, is made of more parts has more accessories.. PLUS has a smaller market and from a smaller company... I dunno, I think the extra thrity bucks is well justified.

yes. but everybody here at macrossworld is entitled to their angry rant opinions, I for one am enraged that valkyries are called valkyries... there is nothing else in the realm of macross that has anything to do with norse mythology or wagner's Ring! Grrrr, angry!

Last exile is very cool, I've watched 8 eps or so and so far I love the design, the characters and the story is shaping up nicely as well.

Heh, I like him because I've been wanting a decent helocopter that doesn't suck horribly in either/both modes... while I'm not saying this guy is the best thing ever, he doesn't suck as much as the other energon bots and I think he looks decent in both modes... but please oh please let those not be his final colours!
