  1. I own both and I think that the Arcadia wins if you have it in Fighter-Mode. Here the pros really shine. The better landing gear, less gaps from the top and the overall silhouette beat Bandais offering. I also prefer the way the cockpit opens on a YF-19 compared to the VF-19. However there are many issues with the Arcadia. The ankle design, the high-speed gimmick, the collapsing stock on the gun-pod are all major cons. The Bandai really shines if your into complex mechanic design with all the moving parts working together to create a small marvel. On the marking department I think that the Arcadia looks like it is straight out of Macross Plus. The Bandai VF-19 has clearly more markings than shown on screen and can be quite distracting. It might look more like an actual airplane but for a 1/60 scale toy it is a bit too much for my linkings. Overall I think Bandai wins but the Arcadia YF-19 has its own strengths where the VF-19ADVANCE is lacking.
  2. I like the transformation on the VF-171 but I agree that the leg rotation is scary and dumb! The issues with aligning the arms usually goes away once the joints in the arms are less stiff after a few transformation circles. Than you can move the joints without dislodging the arms on the back and line them up so that the shoulder armor sits flush. On Yamatos VF-17 this is less of an issue because the shoulder armor is not as slim as the one on Frontier Valkyrie so you have much more room for the upper arms. If I understand Chronocidal correctly you should bend the legs straight before twisting the lower legs right? I'm scared handling my VF-171CF because the last time I handled it (while putting the armor on) the legs wouldn't rotate easily. Now it stays in Fighter-Mode because I'm afraid the plastic will shatter if I handle it again. It's GPS all over again.
  3. I agree especially since Macross 7 is the best that Macross has to offer. Also Basara is the best pilot in the Macross universe so he is by default better than Isamu.
  4. Just to clarify the issue I have highlighted the blue color on the Arcadia toy in this image: My idea is that as with the color for the VF-19 Kai, the VF-0D and the VF-0A Kawamori or Tenjin supervised the color pallet and I can imagine that Tenjin also created the textures for the VF-0A (correct me if I'm wrong). So I assume that the VF-0A looks the way it suppose to. I really like the blue highlights. Than again I think that Lucas RVF-25 has the best paint job of all the Messiahs.
  5. I think it looks good. Now I need to secure a Ghost drone.
  6. So I got the following message from NY: Does anyone know what kind of changes they are talking about. I assume that Bandai now charges their web shop exclusives up front. However I can't determine if this will be the case for all the exclusives after November 2015 or only for the two month before Christmas. The order was an S.H.Figuarts Sailor Pluto but this would be interesting to know for any further Web Shop exclusive Valkyries. So if anyone knows what has changed in the Bandai Web Shop terms of services please let me know.
  7. Hehe thanks. I will just wait and see if I get a chance. I preordered the reissue of Darth Vader that is due in December. If I don't hear any news until then I will just cancel it. I'm interested in the OT figures but nothing more.
  8. HT should do a Circuit Breaker figure!
  9. They also made Swoop and Snarl which have way better quality control that the first release of Scoria. If you like Dinobots you should probably check them out. My favorite company so far is MMC (ever since their HoS line) and at the point I'm fanboy enough to buy everything sight unseen from them. I adore their IDW inspired robots and I don't even read the comics.
  10. Fanstoys posted on TFW that their homepage of MP Sludge (called Stomp) is in the testing phase and the first prototype is too heavy. The poster said that it is two times as heavy as than Soar (Swoop) which would make Stomp weight about 1.5 kg (3.3 pounds). Some people already started arguing that heavier means a more quality toy and that FansToys should release it as is and increase the price. However the guy who posted the message from FansToys already said that they are working on making Stomp weight less.
  11. It should be around 61 cm in height for the Battroid-Mode if it is really 1/100. Jenius blog measured 37 cm height for the Bandai one. The Yamato Koenig Monster is also supposed to be 1/100 scale but is overall bigger and has much longer barrels.
  12. And two times the size. I don't know where I would put it.
  13. I think it is well worth the price. I prefer the recent reissue with the darker green hue. You can still get one of of Nippon Yasan with a minimal mark-up.
  14. The MP Hound was just a rumor i believe. But usually they are fairly accurate. Before the announcement of MP Tracks and Ironhide they where also rumored to be the next releases. I was toy hunting last week and try to find some of the CW figures. TRU had a bunch of leader class Megatrons (G1 and Armada) for $66. I had no interest in them so it was an easy pass. They also had some of the limbs for $28. They where only wave one and since they skipped wave 2 in Europe I had no interest in an incomplete team especially since they had no voyagers for the torsos. So I left empty handed... not quite I bought a Mega Bloks Halo mini figure (they're fun!). In the next toy store they had the wave 3 of the torsos (Hot Spot and Cyclonus) for $35 each which wasn't a terrible deal so I might go back and pick up a Cyclonus if they still have one when I'm in town the next time. I don't have any interest in the limbs but I would buy a Cyclonus because of the character and the purple paint scheme. It would be the first time in about three years that I'd buy a Transformer in a brick and mortar store. I'd say £20 for the limbs would be a rip-off but for the torsos they might be a pretty good price.
  15. I really like the MP-11SW a much nicer collectible than the official Takara MP-24 Starsaber. Keep in mind that I'm extremely biased towards violet toys so much that I'm thinking about purchasing a TF Cloud Hellwarp. TF Cloud Shockwave is sooooo good looking. I does not look like a iteration of Shockwave at all. They could have given him at least a uniquely molded gun or remolded the pinchers into hands. Back on topic. The only thing MP Skywarp is missing is some extra red paint on its breast missiles and a proper translucent pilot hologram figure. I'm so fed up with those horribly painted Doctor Arkeville blobs of plastic. Why doesn't Dr. Wu produce those holograms as an accessory?
  16. I'm still hoping for a VF-191. No matter what kind of CF Valkyrie we end up with I hope that the art style is different from Macross Frontier. As much as I like the Messiah I think a little bit more variety on my shelfs would be a good thing.
  17. Well there it is: Sorry if this has been posted before. [edit:] It seems the image has his own thread already.
  18. Awesome bits of information. I'm actually quite owning one VF-2SS with SAP and one without. The reason being that they different color variations don't have any mold differences (I assume). So it adds variety to the shelf. The only thing I hope for in a SAP release would be it has to have as many gimmicks as possible. Opening missile bays, slide out rail guns, etc. Looking at this line-art picture from the MacrossMechaManual: That looks rad.
  19. That is one big box for an action figure. How tall is the PlayArts Kai Cloud?
  20. Courtesy of @RamsesProject That is a cool idea. Way more interesting than Neca Toys NES Batman.
  21. I wonder why they won't release the Ghost booster. I mean I want one for my VF-0A but I'm not willing to pay an exorbitant price for it. Also do the new Arcadia VF-0A/S come with additional fuel tanks with slots for the drone? I don't have a Yamato VF-0A so I don't know if the plastic of the included parts with the old Ghost match well.
  22. I don't think that it will be a limited WF release because Arcadia is in full control of the Macross Zero 1/60 PT license. The YF-19 packs are from Frontier where they could only get a WF license. I have one question about the shoulder armor. Is it attached to the chest piece or plugged onto the top of the shoulders like teh VF-1 GBP?
  23. Here is a better image of the forearms (courtesy of TFW2005): They seem pretty solid to me.
  24. Awesome! Awesome!!! Still pretty good! I take one of each!
