  1. Lol, it was inevitable-comparisons will always be made between the two. 1/6 scale helmet? Don't forget the cello!
  2. +1 Just keep an eye out at HLJ, they carry PLUM kits all the time.
  3. I just saw the live action version. Holy sh!t did I laugh my ass off. Go to 2:45 for a Daily Show flashback.
  4. There's one thing about it that irks me, and it was a deal breaker. The whole tail assembly needs more mass, and it's angled way too high: Otherwise, I would've jumped on buying it because 1/32 is pretty big. Damn shame.
  5. That looks familiar Makes me want to get it out of storage and make whooshy-howly noises again. Aoshima followed it up with a 1/48 Blue Thunder, but sadly only in kit form.
  6. Yes, Airwolf had a real good dark vibe going for it. Too bad the show went down the drain when String's brother took over. Is that heliport right by the 101? I do the same damn thing when I drive by. That scene was excellent. Aside from the piloting, they did some pretty crazy stuff to get those shots. I think they even strapped cameramen outside a heli to film certain scenes. I also distinctly remember my uncle complaining how the streets were closed to film the city dogfight.
  7. Is Area88 still around? I loved his work.
  8. That's when you pit it against an evil laser-armed version of itself with a red two tone paint scheme. I gotta admit though, Airwolf had a sweet opening theme song.
  9. Yup, that's the one I had. It has a foldable main rotor right? I used to make it fight my Dreadnoks.
  10. Which toy do you have? Is it the one by ORGANIC? The only toy I had was a huge one I got as a gift from a DOOLEY's in L.A. It was big enough to fit GI Joe figures and I loved it to bits.
  11. I had fun watching both Airwolf and Blue Thunder in their respective screens and I think both designs are great. It's like comparing an A-10 and a F-14, both are beautiful in their own ways. Dana Carvey looks so young in that show. What really blew me away was how it sounded, it just didn't like a typical RC heli.
  12. Meh, just give the Hasbro version a good alcohol rub to remove the dumb "Sonic Boom" markings and it'll be just as good as this new one.
  13. "This ship is equipped with a forward-mounted, twenty-millimeter electric cannon. Its six barrels are capable of firing four thousand rounds of ammunition per minute. And that, gentlemen, is one hell of a sh!t-storm in anybody's language!" This movie was so awesome, and still is IMO. I was going through my old files when I found a forgotten treasure of sorts. I can't remember the website I found this on, but IIRC, the son of the man who supplied the original Gazelle helicopters for the movie uploaded a huge set of photos that his dad had taken on the set. These include the best reference pics I've found of Blue Thunder itself and also stills of the movie's helicopter dogfight in the streets of L.A. I thought the album is too cool to not share: Blue Thunder Flickr Album. And check this out, I know there are many out there but this is arguably the best scale RC model I've seen of the beast itself:
  14. Carl Macek would've begged to differ.
  15. AFAIK, the patlamp parts were the only add-ons released for the MG Ingram kits. A while back I wanted to search for super detailed 1/6 scale revolvers and shotguns that could replace the weapons found in the kits, but I never got around to it.
  16. I love how the Garland is getting much love, but some bad guy mechs would be sweet too. Like BD's suit from MZ 23 Pt II.
  17. Out of all the 3rd party news that hit these past two weeks, Planet X's WFC Grimlock got my utmost attention. I really liked Hasbro's version, but this one a must buy for me.
  18. We can only hope. But most likely not. At 1/24 scale, Arcadia's Garland will be in scale with Yamato's Patlabor Ingrams and with countless die cast collectible cars.
  19. Nope, nothing like that. Apparently he was just lending a helping hand to a guy who needed it. I just watched part of this again now that the subtitles have been finished. I cringed and laughed. Mostly cringed.
  20. Those hip panels don't look like they're gonna slide anywhere, contrary to the rumors and his torso looks too long compared to his legs. Regardless, this Ironhide looks tremendously better than all the 3rd party stuff.
  21. A screenshot at 1:23 pretty much made my day
  22. I'm going to miss the 1/15 scale of the old Garlands, but with T-REX involved, this should be a much better toy.
  23. Found a Bryan Ferry cassette not too long ago. I had to reach real deep in the memory banks for these: Still love the second song.
