  1. OMG! lmao!!!! Actually, it looks like Harry and the Hendersons meets Battliefield Earth.
  2. Reminds me of EV Nova. I think it even snags some of the same sound effects, but I could be wrong.
  3. It's been Dead in the Water lately. Roycommi's been really busy and so have I. We've yapped a bit about starting it back up, but it's strictly a "time permitting" project at the moment. Now that I look at that animation after a month or two, I realise how crappy it looks!!! I'd better get my animation skills up to par!
  4. Since I have no desire to see this flick, I went ahead and read a spoiler thread on starshipmodelers forums. After that, I only have one thing to say: "Dude, this movie is going to be rock-tacular!!!"
  5. Event Horizon started out interesting and stayed that way for about an hour. Then it turned into "What's the stupidest way we can end this movie while utilizing about 40,000 gallons of fake blood." Opinions are opinions, but only mine count to me.
  6. Oh, Oihan... How I wish i could still see the world as your naive, youthful eyes do... Sadly, this movie just isn't looking to be too good. I mean, this is the guy who gave us Event Horizon, the Mortal Kombat movie and the Resident Evil movie(s). Face it, he blows. He's one of those people who thinks "action movie" means rapid cuts, all too jittery camera work and all that crap.
  7. Ditto. I think it's funny how they kept saying they wanted to be as true to the original Giger alien and not add colors like in Alien: Resurrection, yet when you see the aliens for this movie they have browns and stuff, and the smooth head crest has been replaced by "treads". wtf!?! My wife even thinks it would've been much cooler if they followed the original comic over this POS.
  8. OK- We're only 15 minutes into the AVP Preview special on Fox, and the director, Paul W. S. Anderson is claiming that 10 or so years ago HE came up with the AVP idea. They're done with the "where it came from" part and there's no mention of the original comic book from '89-'90. Not to mention that this Anderson guy sounds like a pretentious twit.
  9. p.s.- Ummmm, dude? A FRONT MISSION game has been announced. [valleygirl] Duh!!!![/valleygirl]
  10. For some reason, the Nintendo DS has always rubbed me the same way as the VirtualBoy, and damn did that thing suck.
  11. Scratch that, I found the re-post on hobbyfan's forums.
  12. CW's link to the full tutorial in the beginning of this thread is dead. Did anyone happen to save the tutorial? I forgot to, but I wanted to have it as a reference since it was very helpful.
  13. Yeah, an allegedly stolen X-box is justification for a brutal sextuple-homicide.
  14. This thing is still bunk. If I keep the criteria as female, my first name, Jeff, and m wife's first name, Erika, come up as the same thing: Kumiko.
  15. OLD news... search function works wonders... expect lock shortly.
  16. Either the Japanese don't have a lot of names (which isn't true), or that generator blows. My last name, Sorley, comes up as Fujiwara. My wife's last name, Kvikstad, comes up as Fujiwara. Hmm... Don't make one lick of sense, if you ask me.
  17. I think your right. IIRC- when I was a lad I heard he changed the name because revenge shouldn't be something a Jedi strives for.
  18. Interesting, but remember that, just like Coppola, Spielberg and the other "greats", he has a lot more control over his movies than say, the guy who directed Catwoman. Or William Shatner ( )!!! I think the reason people give him a lot of credit is because he ensures that he has a hand in almost every aspect of the film. It's his baby and he wants it done right. Is Shyamalan the greatest director ever? No. But what he has done is proven his ability to create the magic of cinema. To be able to bring the best out of his actors and crew. He constantly praises the work of the people he directs, and will readily admit that a big part of his success is the crew that he has brought together for each film. That's a lot more than your McG's or Michael Bay's can ever attain.
  19. I liked the first trailer much, much more. This one was a crappy american action movie trailer, complete with crappy voice-over dude who, for some inexplicable reason, still gets work.
  20. So we went to see it tonight. Right at the part with Ivy and the sinkhole, the power blew out! What a surprise twist!!! So everyone gets a free movie pass and we're going to see it (hopefully from beginning to end) tomorrow.
  21. The wife and I are going to see it tonight. I suggest we start a spoiler thread for those who want to discuss it (as I surely will). Me and the wife talked about Signs continually for about a week after we saw it!
  22. A1- I ain't saying that Bale isn't built- It's just that the fake muscle definition of the suit has always looked really bad.
