  1. OK, without any of the "HG Sux" flaming here, can someone tell me whether or not HG has contacted SMT regarding this kit, or have they been mum on it? It's fairly well know in the anime modeling community that this kit is being made, so it's hard to think that HG wouldn't have been told about it by someone who trolls these forums, at the very least. Just curious.
  2. It looks like either 1) Ewan has forgotten his lines, or 2) Darth Grievous has just shown our Jedi what other appendages of his split into two.
  3. Well, here they are again: and
  4. Remember, if you move the joint alot, the nail polish will wear down faster and will need to be reapplied, but if you don't move it much, it should hold for quite a long time.
  5. Could be that sales just weren't enough to warrant continued production? I love Macross (and hate RT), but you have to admit that Macross' following here in the U.S. is much, much smaller than RT. I'm surprised they actually made it past the initial pre-order run, to be honest. Any continued sales after that was a major plus for Macross fandom in my book.
  6. I haven't used clear nail polish on that particular part, but I use it to tighten the joints on all of my GFFs. No problems for me.
  7. I'm kind of in the same boat, but for us, GitS2 played at our brand-new stadium seating theater, and that's pretty cool. Our theater will usually play the big releases, but usually has 2-3 indie-type films playing any given week. I can only cross my fingers and hope... Hah, my "arty" theatre is a big stadium theatre as well, just that it tends to play some more random indie type films, like GiTS2. Weird since the other theatre in town, a crapy 20-year old one is the theatre that gets all the big blockbusters. But I digress... Goodness, your situation echoes mine almost perfectly, except we have 2 crappy 20-year old theaters in this town, both run by the same management (Marcus).

  9. That's the best one I've seen yet!!!
  10. Huh? Is this your work, or someone else's? If it's your's, and you intend to write it in englsh, I would definitely recommend getting some help to make it clear. Right now it's not very coherent.
  11. Graham- You can be a dark Jedi without being a Lord of the Sith.
  12. All shall bow before Stampy!!!
  13. Macross or not, myself (who is a macross fan) and my friends (who don't know Macross that well) thought that was the funniest thing we've seen in a while.
  14. See, that's the thing (and will probably give you an insight into my tastes), I actually like the Logan design quite a bit, much more than the other variable mecha from SC. It's very utilitarian and just plain nifty. 1stBRD- Defend it all you want, I simply believe that a lot of people think an open cockpit on a variable tank like the Spartas is simply silly. Not only from a defensive standpoint, but imagine what it must be like to be operating in crappy weather, even with those suits on.
  15. I think, overall, the angled facets on the legs, and the multi-tiered chest/torso connection to the smaller waist just doesn't really gel well with me. At a time when mechanical designs, especially variable ones, were riding the fine line between plausability and aesthetic likeability, I feel that the Spartas fell safely into the first catagory but, for my tastes, far outside of the second. Although the bad guy designs are fairly well done, I simply feel that the variable designs from SC fall a tad short. Slightly above Go-bots bet well below just about every other variable mecha design.
  16. No one asked your opinion Peter, what's your opinion? Yeah, definitely not the prettiest mech, and fairly low on my list of faves. You can tell that the intentions of the design was to make a big, hefty, rugged looking mech, but then some of the "artistic features" which are thrown in just screw the whole thing up. Damn, not 24 hrs. after the thread opened and we got to be badmouthing SC. Good job guys. In honor of this repetition, I'll pull out our old favorite: What RT/SC bashing has become Hey Wes... shut up. Just because I don't like the design, and I commented thusly, doesn't make this an RT/SC hate thread. You just think that because you can throw in the "Oh, this thread has devolved into love/hate so quickly and I just know it has so I must be great" that you obviously must be sooo tired of it all, and are so weary of it that you have to post how tired you are of the repitition. Go back and read what I wrote: 1) I made a joke asking Peter's opinion because 1stBRD kind of shot him down. 2) Then, I posted my opinion of the design itself, which I feel to be particulary weak- and I am completely entitled to post my opinion, especially when I posted the reasons why I dislike it. At no point whatsoever did I say that RT or SC sucks. YOU are the one who decided that I must have said so, and therefore you could so cleverly post your disdain for the love/hate argument and then post the pretty little comic, and therefore seem wise and witty. Don't be a chump.
  17. I think it's hilarious how the trailer is completely over the top, with a pounding, driving musical score more suited for something like National Treasure!!! I haven't lost interest yet, although it's still too early to tell. I love Hitchhikers and have been keeping a fairly close eye on this one.

  19. Ummm... it looks like regular Warcraft with the names of everything changed and a couple of the pictures at the bottom replaced with RT stuff.
  20. Oh, Disney's been raping childhood's since the first time they adapted an original story. Go read the original Pinocchio and tell me what happens to Jiminy Cricket (which Disney decided not to include), do you think that the original story of Aladdin had all of those annoying songs? So you think any of those original stories had those annoying songs? Disney simply creates a model which they continue to pump clones of until they percieve it has run dry (ie- the drop in the market for 2D films). Now they believe that CG is the way to go and will begin to create a new batch of manure. Thank goodness Pixar broke up their relationship.
  21. Maybe you buy them simply because you: A) Love the sculpt. B) Love Macross. C) Expect apprection value to grow substantially. D) Any of the above. Really, what a silly question. I expect that few people here horde (with an 'E') them simply for monetary value, but I think it's pretty safe to guess that many owners of the 1/48 keep buying them becuase they are, literally, the best representation of the VF-1 as there ever was. Plus the fact that it's quite addictive. I'm sure most of the owners you'll find on MW showcase their 1/48's because they are prooud of the product's manufacture and quality (regradless of the many "quirks" that the 1/48 is known for).
  22. I like Tom Hanks as well. As for The DaVinci Code... meh.
  23. You are correct. The "Radioactive Hazard" symbol (for lack of a better title) is common throughout the Advanced Valkyrie project. If you move forward to the final variation of the VF-X-10 as the VF-9 Cutlass, You'll see that Kawamori has replaced the "radioactive hazard" symbol with the UN Spacy Kite. After looking at all images available, I don't think that the Dancing Skulls unit ever had a "specific logo". Maybe the pride of being a Dancing Skull was recognition enough?
