  1. I like chicken... and eggs. I am Nyarlathotep! The 999 forms of Nyarlathotep are a point of meditation for the true initiate. It is through these manifold faces that the secrets of the universe are made known. Called "The Crawling Chaos", Nyarlathotep is the disembodied ego of Azathoth and thus the universal "I" of known reality. Some of the many documented forms are; Father of Knives, Nephren-Ka, the Black Man, the Beast of the Lashing Tongue to name a few.
  2. You lucky bastard. I'm trying to convince my wife that there must be some reason why she would have to do her post-grad work in genetics in Japan, but I don't think it's going to happen...
  3. Everytime I try to upload my avatar, I've always gotten an error message.
  4. Okeedokee. I didn't want to re-upload until I got the word, just in case it was removed for a specific reason. Thanks Max!
  5. My animated avatar seems to have been cleaned off of the boards (it was uploaded in the Test Forum, but is not there anymore). Was this an intentional action, or did something mess up?
  6. Interesting link, and very informative. I've heard differently regarding step 4: he directly pours the mold rubber for the first half of the mold. The problem with this is that you cannot control your seams. One method I've heard is to make a base of clay first and carfully model the clay so that you can control the seamlines. Then pour the rubber in to make the first half of the mold. Afterwards, you simply flip the mold, carefully remove all of the clay and then pour the second half.
  7. If the price is right and it can be easily modded to play imports, I'm there! p.s.- How can anyone say the PS2 case is ugly, have you ever looked at an Xbox? Neon green went out in the 80's, honey!
  8. The wife and I just saw it and thought it was great. Sure, the plot isn't the best, but it was simply a fun movie to watch.
  9. whytwolf- Without reading all of the responses, I have this to say: Vote for Nixon!!! No, seriously! There are really only a few around here who hate those who love Robotech. The rest of us just sigh and begin to explain what Macross really has to offer. It seems you found M+, but remeber that, sadly, Macross has become almost (note: almost as convoluted as RT simply because of Macross II, which threw everyone for a loop! Because of the whole licensing debacle, much of Macross is not readily available here in the states. But don't be buggered, we're here to help you out!!! p.s.- I'm drunk. Buggrit!!!
  10. Pfunk? Married? Loser. p.s.- I'm in the same boat, so I can say that to him!!! p.p.s.- Seriously, congrats. Poke her once for me.
  11. Hmmm... I always thought it was some pre-production art or something. But then again, I don't read Japanese, so I was just guessing.
  12. I think KingNor is referring to Nanashi's pics. I can't get them at home on my iMac or here at work on my PC. Both says the page cannot be displayed.
  13. VF-9 Cutlass. My favorite VF!!! If John is mastering it, it will be perfect. I say so.
  14. ChrisB- You are making a mountain out of a mole hill and are erroneously thinking that I have "an axe to grind" with either yourself or SBVT. In hindsight, it probably would have been better for me to simply ask the question without mentioning your sig. But hindsight is alway's 20/20. One reason I specifically mentioned your sig is because I invariably knew someone would ask me what brought this on. I didn't think that your sig itself would become the hot-button issue, I only meant it to be in regards to the political nature of your sig. As to my statements about SBVT that you have so handily quoted, I felt that I needed to explain directly to A1 that 1) Your sig didn't offend me, and 2) my thoughts on the group itself to show why it didn't offend me. If that was wrong, then so be it. I'm not going back and editing that post. Finally, I feel I've taken quite a beating from you (and little ' 's don't change the intent of your posts), and I feel it's about time you sat back into your corner and have a time out. You're responses in this thread have run the gamut from: -Intelligent. Your thoughts on the matter and such, to... -Whining. Constant complaining that I should have PM'ed you first. It's an online discussion forum/community. I don't hide my dirty laundry, and I'm fine with the fact that I posted it for all to see. You bitch and moan so much about how people with grudges against you [even though I've repeatedly stated this ISN'T about you] should "PM you first" and yet I haven't seen one PM from you simply asking why I brought this matter up in this fashion, to... -Outright damn childish. This is a forum for fans of Macross. Do you really think I'm going to take it to heart that you are calling me a pussy, or "calling me out"? It's very hard for people to take your arguments seriously when you have to interject such juvenile responses, ass-clown (see, it doesn't work). For the last time- This thread was not SPECIFICALLY about ChrisB's link in his sig. His sig was simply the catalyst for my question about the matter of politics in sigs. I have no problem with ChrisB, the man, and personally have enjoyed his company here on MW. Sadly, I think this event has spiralled out of control in such a way that tensions will take a long time, if ever to ease. Oh well... On, Moosylvania. edit- spelling again. I'm tired.
  15. If you're 25 or older most larger and some smaller universities will allow you to go to school as a returning/adult learner under their "Continuing Education" program. Most major universities will have an Adult Learner Center set up where someone can help you figure out what to do, when to do it and how to pay for it. Contrary to what you may have heard, there are many federal, state and private assistance programs set up to help you return to school. Many schools recieve special government incentives for accepting adult learners, so they'll really try to find a way to get you in. Another benefit is that many schools do not, and cannot require you to take a test to get in. All you need to do is hold a certain grade-point average for a certain amount of time (or something similar) to prove you're serious, and you're good to go. Penn State calls it a "Provisional Period", but either way it's real credits you can put towards a degree. Dont be a lazy ass. This is the perfect time for you to contact these schools in your area and ask to meet with someone about their Continuing Education programs. If one works out, you can be signed up for the spring semester (dealine is usually mid-october).
  16. I surely hoope you are not referring to me? I have not once stated that the original link in ChrisB's thread offended me and, therefore, he should have removed it. All I've done is stated my opinion on the group itself when A1 asked if it offended me. The intent of this thread is simply the broader question of politics in posts vs. politics in sigs. In fact, you'll notice that I have never given my opinion on the matter itself. But I guess I should now: I think it should be OK to post political items in your sigs, and I think that, in general political discussion should be permitted, given that it falls under one of the set MW catagories. But I was curious if the "no politics" rule, in it's general vagueness, was being broken or bent, by including politics in the one place that is not generally open for discussion (ie- your sig). edit- I accidentally called ChrisB "her" instead of "he"
  17. ChrisB- as I've stated before, it wasn't the content of your sig which offended me. It just piqued my interest in this matter. As I have noted that people have included possibly "incorrect" links and info in their sigs before, yours just made me finally get up off of my ass and ask the Mods about it (curiously, none of which replied at all, seemingly letting MW's members sort it out for themselves.) That is the main reason I posted here for all to see instead of PM'ing you. This was never a personal battle between you and I. The content of your sig simply spurred me to ask the question that's been in the back of my mind for quite a while.
  18. I met Mr. T as well. Funny guy. Always laughing. That's me under his left armpit. Chicago ComicCon '92. I look like a skelington because I had a terrible accident about 4 months before and spent a lot of time in the hospital.
  19. Meh... Not too impressed. Too much of the imagery is based on the movie, and that hurts. The artwork is a good example of Black/White/Grey shading, but the actual designs of the suits and that machine are way too wacky for me. When I think of ST, I think of highly mechanical designs. The script doesn't knock me off of my feet, either. I think it's funny that Byron, the Special Ops Senser, is relegated to "cabbage-head" status and needs to be told that the Neo-Dog will "probably" need to be put down (IIRC, in the book, the Neo-Dog is always put down, and the handler is usually relegated to other duites, but rarely survives the Neo-Dog's death). Not for me. But I will be so generous (ha) as to wish the creators good luck. edit: spelling.
  20. It's A1!!! He's never serious unless he's talking about his respect and admiration for Schwarzenegger!!!
  21. Full Metal Panic Seen one episode. OK. El Hazard Never seen it. Slayers(breakdown by seasons, movies) Never seen it. Hellsing Never seen it. X Never seen it. Vandread Never seen it. Dirty Pair Flash Screw Flash, watch the original DP. Soul Hunters Never seen it. And those are my ratings.
  22. Probably the most offensive thing about his sig is calling the SBVT guy the Real "Band of Brothers", which I consider a slap in the face to the honor of the WWII vets to whom that term is now associated. The SBVT guys don't offend me because I know they are about as much of a joke as Bush or Kerry. I just found it interesting that he has linked to what is obviously a political group with one single goal, which is the election/re-election of bush at all costs. I'd consider that a fairly strong political matter to be posting anywhere here on MW. Personally, I follow the Daily Mislead on a regular basis, but I would never condone myself, or for someone else, to link to it in their sigs. I don't think MW should be even remotely about that. Sure, a bit of political talk slips by, especially in A1's "The Oak" thread (and that is simply because of the unique situation Ah-nuld presents us). But as has been mentioned before, politics themselves are tricky matter, and what's good for the goose is not always good for the gander. Really, I was just curious, since it's well known that politics in posts are strictly frowned upon. Are sigs the loophole a political pundit needs?
