  1. Is that a civilian rocket in your hands, or are you just happy to see me?
  2. Nice neck rolls, Batman. Here, I've got an idea: Get an actor who is actually very well built, physically. Then, you don't have to make fake rubber muscles into the suit!
  3. I suck. I just realised how similar the shoulder weapon is to the Strike FASTpack. It only took me about 10 years!!! KingNor- Have you read the book yet? It's one of my faves.
  4. Hey GobotFool- I hope the ball doesn't get "droped" either... whatever that means!!! Seriously, this could be the first good Batman movie. Too bad it'll only take them 5 tries*... *note, I love Burton, but his batman movies were slow and boring. NOT good comic adaptations.
  5. OK- I know poo about watercolor. How do you keep the pencil lead/graphite from smearing when you paint over it?
  6. Phalanx info Specifically: Type of Fire: 3,000 rounds per minute - Later models: 4,500 rounds/min (starting 1988 production, Pneumatic Gun Drive) Magazine Capacity: 989 rounds - Later models: 1,550 rounds
  7. David- I'm unsure. I grabbed it from the gallery at fas.org. RenegadeLeader1- I understand your point, but the aircraft carrier wasn't rammed from behind by the dhow (although that would be a humorous sight to see ).
  8. I partially disagree. Think of it this way: Football game: QB gets sacked. Who's fault is it? Answer, the whole team's fault. Sure, the guy should've never gotten through, but the QB should still be paying attention, too.
  9. p.s.- Thanks for the link. p.p.s.- True. p.p.p.s.- Regardless of how difficult a dhow is to spot, the carrier still hit it, and that means that no one on board knew it was there, and that means that if the dhow was manned by terrorists (which could still be the case, they just screwed up and didn't get a chance to do what they wanted to do), it could've set off explosives very near the ship. I call that a failure to maintain perimeter security. C'mon- The ships got 5,000 crew on board! I think it can spare a 10 or 15 to sit on the leading edges and look for small objects!!!
  10. The article that Wes linked to states that Formula Front was originally PSP only, but will now also be releases on the PS2. I say: Meh. The AC series lost me as a fan with AC2. I've tried some of the newer ones and was stilled unsatisfied. If Formula Front adds more of a strategy element, I might be tempted. AC is no FM, I'll tell you that much for sure!!!
  11. I want a 1/48 SDP-1 Stampeed, damnit!
  12. My point being that, especially after the USS Cole attack, you'd think measures would be in place to keep an eye on any small boats near a US warship, especially an aircraft carrier. To answer your question, Anubis, dhows are small sailboats with weak motors, if they even have one. It could be possible that they couldn't manuever out of the way fast enough, especially from an aircraft carrier going 30 knots into the wind. Dangard Ace brings up an interesting theory as well in that they were sleeping. civilian crews on small boats such as this usually don't leave someone on watch.
  13. If you check out the detailed pics you'll see that it actually has a very rough texture, almost akin to sand. I thihnk that ther eliminates any use except for pure enjoyment's sake.
  14. CNN Article All things aside, there was a serious lapse in securing a perimeter around the JFK which allowed the carrier to ram this dhow in the first place. I think someone aboard the JFK is gonna get slapped hard for letting this happen.
  15. It's canon. UN Spacy- The ship they are on is a special forces carrier named Algenicus (sometimes improperly spelled Algenix). Here is the info on Maoramia.
  16. I like Star Wars. All of it. The Holiday Special rocked! Seriously- The prequels are just as cheesy and corny as the original. I just think Lucas bit off a bit more than he could chew by starting with the discovery of Anakin. I felt he was trying to pack too much story into Ep1. But hey, that's just me. I still liked it.
  17. Greg- I know it seems petty to say this, but remember that we are all here for you. If the need ever arises, I don't think any person who replied in this thread would hesitate to be there for you. Even if it's only to lend an ear. Now you must be strong for your little girl, and for yourself. Cherish and honor the memories of your wife, but continue to strive for the living.
  18. In the book the Skinnies are only mentioned firsthand in the beginning, in which the M.I. is sent in for a quick raid to "put the fear of Humans" into a Skinny colony and force them once and for all to stop collaborating with the Bugs. Skinnies are your traditional humanoid alien, while the Bugs are supposed to be something very familiar, yet completely different.
  19. Regardless of your opinion I find this statement rude, racist and fairly redneck. I thought you were cooler than that, but I guess not.
  20. OLD NEWS ALERT!!! OLD NEWS ALERT!!! I could understand this of a new guy... but Solscud. For shame!
  21. Interesting page: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Zone/5835/Troopers.html
  22. 1) I like M. Night Shyamalan. I don't think he's an ass, I think he's a funny guy who enjoys perpetuating ideas people have about him. 2) One trick pony? It all chalks up to opinion of his movies. I think he's a 3-trick pony probably going on four come July 30th. 3) The whole show was a gag and Night was fully in on it. The funniest part is where they interview Johnny Depp who was "supposed" to have been originally cast in Signs, but he backed out when Night required all this crazy stuff and secrecy in his contract, and then he gives examples of the answers he was supposed to give in interviews when asked about Night himself. The next scene is an interview with Adrian Brody on the set of The Village and, right when he's asked about Night himself, he spouts off the two exact quotes that Depp just mentioned in the previous interview (all the while trying his damnedest to hide a smile). Another funny part in the same interview with Adrian Brody is how the movie is so secret and he's bound by contract not to give anything away that when the producers of the doc ask him if his character has long or short hair, he replies that he can't answer that. All in all, the show was goofy. At 3 hours with commercials, it was a lot longer than it should've been. But as a gag on himself, how people perceive him and a little bit of promotion for his new movie, I thought it was OK.
  23. Hey Kodiak- I love the idea... but the digitel art is very evident. I was just curious if you were angling for something directly in-line with DYRL and FB2012, or just being happy with your own (high-quality) fan-sequel, visual-wise?
  24. Come on!!! I playyed nice!!! I was tactful and welcoming...
  25. Now this is good.
