Macross Frontier Series Discussion Thread *READ 1st Post*

The afterglow should last for at least a few months at least. Besides the forum has always been active without an anime series for 5-6 years. Final Vegeta: Interesting deconstruction of the series, but i don't get the haragei thing. I never got around to asking it so i'll ask it now.....The vajra does not have individualism so hardly they have a conformist mindset nor have any concept of haragei. Are you saying they are practicing haragei because they have virus in their bellies literally? -

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<

That much was a given since season 1 but i think Kataron is the AEUG in this series. A-LAWS sounds stupid....i wonder what does the abbrev mean. My verdict for the episode. W-o-W. But i'm still not expecting much. Remember Destiny? That was pretty wow too that quickly disipated. We'll see how it goes. Some points to make: -

Just got a copy in Malaysia too....i think they got the license indirectly from HK though cuz the video quality definately isn't DVD quality...and i think its the same one they sold in Singapore cause the packaging is the same. And they left out the preview on my copy as well.

And that reinforces your argument how? Are 10 gaijins worth the opinion of 1 japanese or something? Where do you get this statistic anyway? -

Hmmm i wasn't following the thread about breaking shoulders, but I DID warn people about that part and its likelihood to break. I'm not sure if anything can be done to alleviate the problem since its more of a design problem but i guess it just means you have to be very careful when moving the hands. I'm leaving Roy in battroid mode and not touching him for now. -

Sigh....guess i'll wait for an armored Ozma to be released before i reattempt the kit. Actually I didn't have a problem with the wings. I just swivel them out when i need to and apply the decals. Probably the decals and stickers vary in the size? And to the ppl who paint the pilots....how in god's name did you do it? Its SOOOOOOO SMALL! I painted warhammer stuff before but the 1/72 pilot is ridiculous! -

In a word....Downplayed. V-type spreads through bodily fluids. Guess which fluid during sex can carry the virus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexually_transmitted_disease Its not just AIDS that can be spread through intercourse. Many diseases can be spread through sexual intercourse due to the ease of exchange of bodily fluids in the genital area. Unless there's an in-universe reason that V-type specifically does not spread through sexual intercourse, then its assumed a STD cuz of it transmitted through bodily fluids. -
I find it unlikely....but surprise me.

How about the series has nothing to do with who Alto chooses, but more of the dynamics between Sheryl, Ranka and Alto? I think it makes the show much better if viewed this way rather than through "shipping goggles". I loved the fact that Sheryl who appeared as a self centered b***tch in ep 1 ( i remembered how folks here biatched about how biatchy she was during the deculture edition) turned out really just to be a girl who wanted to be normal. She may turn out all princesssy and arrogantly goes around saying "Who you think I am, I'm Sheryl Nome!!" but that's just a mask to her true self. The confident biatch is actually just a front for her insecurities. Then comes along Ranka, a person who has everything she never had. Friends, home, family, a normal life. When she finds out Ranka wants to be just like her, she selflessly helps because she sees a person who has to go through the same footsteps as her....urges her forward. Ranka views this as something kind coming from Sheryl but Sheryl does it because it reaffirms her position as an idol. She becomes conflicted between her feelings and the burden of being an idol especially when the role reversals happen between Sheryl and Ranka. Ranka is more honest to herself throughout the series whereas Sheryl always puts up a "higher-than-thou" attitude which hides her true feelings. Its also because of this "mask" that she gets the confidence from. No doubt Sheryl appears confident but that's because of her upbringing and hinted brainwashing by Grace in ep 18. Sheryl is the tsundere archetype of anime whereas Ranka is the "moe-moe-genki". Ranka is truer to her feelings thus she appears more wishy washy and non-confident....but Sheryl envies Ranka for that trait and wishes she can be more like her when ironically, Ranka wants to be more like THE Sheryl Nome. At the end of the day, I'll say both Ranka and Sheryl have balanced each other out and growed equally in the series. I can't really favour one from the other in this regard. Alto on the other hand just had to choose between flying and kabuki. Alto's dilemma was downplayed in the series and could've been done better IMHO. -

The Triangle is unresolved. The ending proved so. If i were to ship either Ranka or Sheryl, i can give 101 examples of why Ranka OR Sheryl won the triangle but I don't. I'm not sure why ppl are insistent that Alto slept with Sheryl. I mean OK, suppose they did have sex....so what? Modern culture dictates sex is like a past time. Ppl have sex all the time and sometimes ....ppl have sex when they are at their lowest in life and just need another warm body for comfort. Its not the 1s time in a story where the protagonist has sex with someone but ends up with another by the end of the story. Its a moment of weakness so to speak. I wanted to give Macross Plus as an example but i think rape doesn't count. -

I'd like to think that the motion of Alto grabbing the sniper pod was more of him being emo (finally) of Michel's death and has nothing to do with motion capture or whatever. He grabbed the air and held it close to it his heart, i doubt the valk was doing the same thing. If anything the valk probably has an autopilot function that makes it grab the gunpod which has a transponder that guides the valk's hands to it. Its these little things that make human interfaces easy, just like a first person shooter game. You walk over a piece of ammo/weapon, you automatically pick it up. You see an enemy, the targetting computer automatically points the gunpod in that direction. For me i feel the valkyrie controls are mostly automated. Everything from firing the gunpod, stabbing with knife etc. The pilot can choose to have manual control during other more "sensitive" situations though like when Alto is grabbing Ranka with in ep 2, his joystick has triggers for each of the valk's fingers so he can grab Ranka off the ground with care. -
Slowpoke is slow. Gubaba gave a good desc.

No mods needed. Make sure the joint near the intakes/hips are pulled all the way down. The nose actually dips until it can touch the ground but you can adjust the knees or the hip joint. -

I sorta have those problems too and no idea what's causing it. Overall my fighter mode doesn't click together well and the wingroots have trouble staying on to the fuselage and they leave a wide gap, just like your picture. But Jarrod got his perfectly in fighter mode. Any idea what i'm doing wrong? -
Main char's seiyuu reminded me of Simon and I wondered why....cuz its Simon's seiyuu. Main char turned from Shinji-type into GAR right at episode 1.....didn't quite expected that.
