  1. Geez...someone's a sore loser.
  2. U kidding? Those levels were so awesome. Too bad they weren't in the movie.
  3. Well then....book another locale since they know there will be much more ppl who will be interested than anticipated. Even so, it should be a 1st come 1st serve basis, not lottery. Only Macross concerts are the 1s i heard of a concert that limits u by lotteries. They didn't have this system for the Haruhi concert nor the Bleach musicals.
  4. This was very close to the ending i envisioned for Code Geass....too bad Sunrise didn't buy my idea. XD
  5. Those are hardly the saddest moments in anime....and Rollo's death made me HAH....he fskin deserved it. What sadness? Nah...i don't even know what is Animedia. It was slightly sad but not that sad. There have been sadder moments in anime and Michel is possibly on the top 10 but not the top 5. *Cough* Akane *cough*
  6. I don't get this lottery ticket thing. If the response is so good, why not just rent a bigger hall and have as much ppl enter it as possible, as opposed to limiting it to only a small percentage of people who are interested in the concert?
  7. Numbers were one thing, but explaining technowizardry in the world of macross is another. At least Mac7 gave Basara's ability a name and explained technically by Dr. Chiba. I think there will be more whining if that aspect of Basara was never revealed IE: why he sings and monsters run away. In contrast, Sara's ability for levitating rocks wasn't explained and there WAS lotsa whinging about "LOLMAGICROCKS". I don't really mind stats or no stats at the moment ....but topics like "do they have missiles?", " Is that a PPB knife?" interest me. Nowhere in the anime was it stated it was a PPB knife for example when they could've just shown a computer console saying it was a PPB knife or something. That's another example. I have been a macross fan for some time and I have conceded to the fact that Macross does not emphasize on its technology simply because it is NOT a mecha show. It never was, it might be in the future (who knows?), but it still isn't. Valks are just the props in the show. I was just wondering what everyone else feels about this. Cuz you wanna know why the VF-27 can do stuff the VF-25 can't. Cuz you wanna know why there are fold faults in the galaxy and why fold travels is hampered by them. Cuz you wanna know why Alto doesn't use his PPB on his poor abused VF-25F (or is it even there?). Not ENTIRELY necessary but it gives the universe more depth, IMHO. But meh, this is Macross and I have accepted it long ago.
  8. Apart from the common complaints, i feel the alto DX's head, something is wrong. Feels like its flattened and and widened. Perhaps the visor is abit fat.
  9. damnit...i want one now. But for USD70++ a piece..... >_<
  10. I'm quite sure you can easily position it to be in the position you're comfortable with, where it slouches with tail up in the air. The joints should allow it.
  11. Now that's what i call armored battroid. Wished the DX line could even come close. I hope they release the super packs seperately....sigh. PS: way past your bedtime, g-man.
  12. Just caught it. Those expecting an action film....forget it. This is a film noir in every sense of the genre. I liked how they translated the game to the big screen. Abit disappointing that there was almost little to no gunfights in the whole show and there was only 1 worthy bullet time scene thrown in to appease fans but that's about it. It doesn't detract from the entire idea of the show so i felt it was fine. Generally a nice movie. Some friends who watched before me were disappointed since they were expecting john woo-ish movie but I knew better.
  13. Cross posted from the news thread. MAF beats GBU at its 1st week. Not that surprising actually considering GBU is not the 1s game in the franchise whereas MAF is like the 1s in the series (assuming there will be a series) http://www.psphyper.com/psp/japan-weekly-s...g-oct-6-oct-12/
  14. I'll try but not tonight. Got a dinner date + movie. And i think we should heed pro modeller's advice....top coat the thing before we handle/transform the model too much. I learnt this lesson from this model. Another lesson: And....i brought my cockpit canopy to a friend to help me tint it. I initially painted black on the canopy edges and frame so he thought i didn't do a good job so decided to use paint thinner on it. Now the cockpit's screwed up and looks frosted on one side cuz the thinner ate into the canopy. =.=;; He claims it can be saved with some sanding and polishing but i dunno......worse case scenario i'll try to get some replacements parts from Japan otherwise just leave it in battroid mode where the canopy will be hidden. I hate paint thinner. I never had good luck with them.
  15. Interesting news. The PSP game Macross ACE Frontier outsold its predecessor, Gundam Battle Universe in the opening week. http://www.psphyper.com/psp/japan-weekly-s...g-oct-6-oct-12/
  16. the stickers are fine. I did what you were thinking and replaced the intake area with the stickers. Thanks! But i dun have acrylics...or at least i dunno what paint are citadel paints. I'm using that now since i'm mooching them off my brother who does Warhammer. Hahaha.
  17. Its not an issue of over-writing or not. Its an issue of writing it or not at all. Stuff like "Does the VF-25 have missiles" or "what is energy converting armour" are not explicitly shown nor explained in the anime whereas in Gundam every techno jargon throwed out is explained fairly well in the anime series. We have to rely on other media for answers to these like the compendium or some design works book.
  18. I had problems with it too. Its actually quite simple. Start of mission, special dash (L + x) towards Miria, then do Max World (x + square). It will stop time. Melee Miria till she dies and you should have more than enuff time before the time stop ends. Her wingman is easy cake after that. In a word, Fabulous. He launches his soldiers as missiles and he throws his metal pipe as a projectile which also can be used as a melee weapon. I have not mentioned but another glaring proof that the game feels half finished, the bosses don't have voices but their portraits appear to be talking when their lives are low. IE: Geppelnitch, Bodolza, etc.
  19. You have an impeccable taste for art.
  20. At the risk of goin abit OT, do you guys feel (being sci-fi geeks) that Macross doesn't make much effort in trying to explain its technologies in its animated media and relies on alternative media for it instead ie: the Macross Design Works books etc. As compared to say Gundam, though not exaustive they do try to make an effort to have it all on the anime. Perhaps its a tradition for Macross not to be an overemphasis on the mecha but rather the relationships and issues between its characters?
  21. ' Holy crap that looks bad a**!! So the City Commander thing is also a fan project? Nice work....hats off to fansproject. I want one now...but guess that's impossible.
  22. Meh...that's Rise Up, not Hard On....i'm sure that bullet is symbolic of something else rising up but,.....
  23. WOOHOOOO!!!! GRIMLOCK SMASHHHHH!!!
  24. 1 word. Fugly. The amor packs don't make them look any better in fact it looks hell alot worse. Bandai isn't having my money for the 1/60s. But feel free to make me eat my words. As for the Aquarion, it isn't a good toy either, so its a weak example to present an argument. And yes I have it.
