  1. Your idea is a great one! Let's just wait and see how will the series go, as we only saw the preview episode and there could be surprising things along the way in the series proper, just like in Frontier.
  2. That is the appeal to tradition fallacy again as you think magical girls should not belong in Macross just because previous series did not have them. I think including magical girls in Macross is a crazy idea but of course the creators are just trying something new to Macross.
  3. Again, the appeal to tradition logical fallacy committed by Delta haters. While I think Walkure is ridiculous, I am looking forward to Delta for the mecha action, as with any Macross series. Just because magical girls suck (and yes, I am not a fan of magical girls) doesn't mean Delta sucks as a whole, so you also committed the fallacy of composition.Yes, of course you are entitled to your own opinion on Delta, what I wrote is just what I think of your post (and of Delta as well).
  4. One SV-262 transforms to GERWALK when attacking the aircraft carrier in the preview.Anyways, based on it's designation, is the SV-262 a Saab product in-universe? I think "SV" means "Saab Variable".
  5. As the VF-171 was just cannon fodder, maybe the pilot doesn't have as much experience with his machine. More experienced pilots can pilot the VF-171 more effectively in battle, as seen in Frontier.
  6. FM-26 Hornet II variable fighter in Shipbucket scale (from the "Colony of Corpus Christi" alternate universe project for Shipbucket): It is not a design set in the Macross universe, but I would be coloring it in various color schemes from Macross, as well as the colors of the Corpus Christi Defense Force and other armed forces in my project's universe. And also, for a Macross design, the Reguld battlepod, drawn by another Shipbucket artist in this thread: It is not in Shipbucket scale, but drawn in Shipbucket's style. The first reply to the OP's post there is something so appropriate:
  7. I am working on the "Colony of Corpus Christi" sci-fi alternate universe project on Shipbucket with Shipbucket scale drawings, and one of mecha that I am including is a variable tank. I will draw it after I finish the FM-26 Hornet II variable fighter for that project. While it is not set in the Macross universe, the designs from my project could be easily adapted as fan-made Macross designs.
  8. Oops! But yes, I do understand why there are no variable tanks in Macross, something the OP doesn't seem to get after all the discussion here and in another forum. That's why I (and another poster) suggested that he do his own design as a fan work.
  9. If you see a tank in action you will know that they are highly mobile vehicles in various terrain. Tank designers did not put those 1000+ hp engines for no reason. Transforming tank mecha could be somewhat agile, but not as agile as lighter, less armored mecha due to square/cube law.
  10. I recommend Ubuntu because it has good long-term support with the LTS versions, and is free and open source. If you want Blender out of the box then get Ubuntu Studio.
  11. It's around Gripen or F-5 in size. In fact, it replaces the F-5 in the Philippine Air Force, 10 years after the F-5 was retired.
  12. You could use Blender, a free and open source modeling software. it is available on GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac. I have used it on my GNU/Linux laptop with lower specs than yours, so surely it will work for you.
  13. Nga'a Asta Subong by J'kwon, Carlbizzy & Krayziewat (an Ilonggo rap love song):
  14. Philippine Air Force F/A-50 fighter-trainer and S-211 trainer:
  15. Shipbucket scale Uraga class aircraft carrier: The drawing is mostly done, I just need to add details such as missile launchers, CIWS, and the embarked airwing. I am planning to depict the class they would appear in the 2040's, 2050's and 2060's (which would be a hypothetical configuration assuming the VF-25 gets widespread adoption among the NUNS forces) eras.
  16. I think the reason why the Galaxy insignia is more pronounced is that the Macross Galaxy government is a corporatocracy, and the military forces are a private military company that is a GOCC (government owned and controlled corporation).
  17. Well, as seen in episode 20 of Frontier even a HK G36 is somehow effective against small Vajra, the soldiers just got outnumbered and outgunned. As for a transforming tank in the Macross universe, why not design one yourself as a fan-made work?
  18. Some real life militaries allow people ages 15 and up to enlist, so I don't think it is much of a stretch.
