True. But how much will Hulu be willing to pay to break that contract? While Hulu would enjoy another group of shows, the Mouse's streaming service needs something to sell it's service.Star Wars and Marvel's catalog would make a much better sell together than just a few properties. That's a question Disney needs to answer.

Two years is a long time, unfortunately. The parties involved with making the shows the first time around may not come back, either because they’ve moved on or may no longer be available. I agree; any plans at this point are a wash and a waste of brain cells until Netflix’s 2-year hold on the characters is released.

Officially official. Punisher & Jessica Jones cancelled by Netflix. JJ will finish when its season is released later this year.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
azrael replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Designer-wise? He's done detailed work but a full VF? Jury is still out on that one. Writer-wise? Tenjin isn't a writer. -

Popularity's a 2-edged b*tch, aint it? -

Or maybe a more simple reason. If he wants to do another TV series, he need to give them one more movie. -
I'm taking a shine to Ms. Notaro's character. Discovery could use a good chief engineer.

Artists’ availability varies so having the artwork change for a time doesn’t irk me. Just be thankful you don’t have to laugh at the story then puke at the artwork of a character looking like they’re having trouble using the bathroom. You can laugh and laugh some more at semi-tolerable artwork.

Good for them. It was likely PR 'cuz it sounds like he talked to LucasFilm way back before he started filming to get the ground rules on the fan film. The other company is either Warner Chappell, UBEM, AMRA, UMPI, or PEDL.

The Vanillia Ice-excuse doesn't work. He go to court with the sheet music and prove it. But it sounds like he doesn't want to go through that trouble. Which brings me to my other comment. Remove the video, remove the offending music, re-score it with a completely different track and re-upload. Warner Chappel doesn't get the AdSense money and everyone stays happy.
-
Even if he "reworked" the Imperial March-theme, it's still too close to the original. There are certain notes in there that sound too similar. If that music is owned by Warner Chappel then he's at fault here. How about removing the video, taking out the score, then re-uploading with a different tune or no music at all?

So they finally made an instrumental version of the olde Spider-man-theme.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

AMD's keynote seemed an "OK". AMD announces 3rd-gen Ryzen and Radeon VII, beating Intel and Nvidia to 7nm Radeon 7 for $699....7nm seems to have brought them better performance and the same power draw. 3rd gen Ryzen seems to have brought lower power consumption of the 7nm-process along with better performance. Surprisingly, on the same AM4 socket. We'll see when these come out this year. -

Intel's announcement. Still a day late and $1 too expensive considering AMD is moving toward 7nm by this year(?) while Intel is just getting to 10nm. The highlight seems to be updates to the U and Y-line of laptop CPUs. Feels like a "Meh". -

Someone was looking at the Vive? How about a premium unit for $799? This should really go into the Cars-thread but for people who never remember where they parked, Hitachi's got ya covered at CES. Forgot about this one, G-Sync support for FreeSync monitors...so we don’t have to pay the marked up prices. -

How about a Razer Blade 15 with RTX for $2300? Or the Huawei Matebook 13 for $1000 (or discrete graphics model for $1300) -

CES is this week. Nvidia launches the $349 GeForce RTX 2060 Comment: So it's $100 more at launch compared to a 1060 and only offers 1.5-2x the performance bump over a 1060. So, how is this better???? -
Nothing against the artwork. Story however...

The computer and electronics super geek thread

I use paranoia (otherwise known as backups) to avoid those pitfalls. I also DON'T use my iPad to take pictures like some lunatic. I only do .X or .X.Y revisions over-the-air if I'm not near a computer. Never will I do a full version update without hooking up to a computer. But I also manage my storage like a sane person just to avoid the need for more storage space to upgrade to a new iOS version. I don't use iCloud (much). This saves me whatever headaches I would deal with crappy Wi-Fi or slow wi-fi. I also came to the realization when I got my first iPhone that anything I put on there will never come off so I avoid the issue of trying to find a way to pull some data off by not putting it on their in the first place. My main system or my NAS stores my stuff or I've found a way to backup and not worry about having to extract it later. If I have to use Apple services, I've made sure I use them in the minimalist-sense. So yeah, that's how I avoid Apple headaches. I still use their laptops and haven't had a real "bang-my-head-on-the-wall" for years. -

In this case, you're probably better off with the Vive. The Rift is cheaper but Vive likely has more supported publishers on Steam than the Rift. -

Yeah, that would be also be a suspect.
