    I haven't opened my Blackout yet and am tempted to sell but while it's not perfect I do think it's pretty cool. Especially helicopter mode. I may never sell it just because I'm lazy.

    That is delightfully '70s. Incidentally, episode 5 "Rampage" features more female variants on established male characters, both a female Trandoshan (like the bounty hunter Bossk) and a female Rancor (like the one Luke killed in Jabba's palace). #theForceisfemale

    Speaking of getting names wrong: I don't know if the role-playing games can be blamed for this one, but the error is a simple one; in Japanese, the elongated イー sound gets Romanized as "ii" (which is not a spelling pattern native to English), and since it's common for proper nouns to be capitalized in English, the "Iigaa" spelling is often misconstrued as representing a lower-case "L" instead of the upper-case "I". In Japanese, it's pronounced "Eager," and that's the preferred English spelling (if only to avoid confusion). This one gets all sorts of spellings (in this thread alone, it's spelled "Grab," "Grub," "Graub," and "Gurab"), and while each is a valid Romanization of グラブ, I think "Grub" is what the Japanese clearly intended, given all the insect analogies used to describe the Invid in Japanese publications (and even their Mospeada Wikipedia page).

    Not much. The warp pylons are attached to a surface large enough to grip onto and use as a fulcrum, and it's really just a matter of applying enough downward pressure to snap the few plastic rods that hold the engineering hull together. No big deal.

    Absolutely not. Mine wouldn't budge, even after ripping apart the secondary hull... Given the dish is glued to the upper part of the secondary hull, the best I could do was mix a similar duck-egg blue color and paint the rest of the interior surface of the dish to match the glued portion along the upper edge. I must say, it looks better as a deflector dish than it did as a window.

    Yes, but it's got such a lovely turquoise window in place of the navigational deflector... I just love how clearly you can see the warp core in there, holding the secondary hull together.

    His work is definitely improving, but those are going to be much bigger (and more expensive) than his "oversized" Grub... ...and the Gamo doesn't appear to have any articulation whatsoever.

    That would be a valid interpretation... That's an entirely different (but equally valid) interpretation. Unfortunately, his text is misleadingly vague -- and his images are no less confusing -- so further clarification is required either way.

    Best start over from scratch on that one. There's more wrong than right with it. I would imagine there are just as many collectors out there who would be happy with (or even prefer) "Rick Hunter" nomenclature as there are fans that would insist on "Hikaru Ichijo..." ...just not on this site.

    Outside of vintage model kits, yeah... but either way, they're too small for HMR (which is generally closer to 1:84th scale).

    There's an inconsistency with pronunciation that's beginning to bug me. Despite both hailing from New Zealand, Michelle Ang pronounces her character's name as "Oh-mee-gah," whereas Dee Bradley Baker calls her "Om-egg-ah." Since their dialogue is presumably recorded separately, the cast is likely unaware of the discrepancy, meaning the voice director's at fault.

    I appreciate you being open to constructive criticism, because there is an issue I noticed that bears mentioning. It's a problem inherent to the medium, particularly when adapting hand-drawn artwork, but 3D models have too many perfectly straight lines, too many perfectly flat surfaces, too much perfect geometry evident. Tatsunoko was particularly known for alien mecha designs that looked organic -- grown, rather than constructed -- and Southern Cross is a prominent example: While your models show a tremendous amount of time and effort, I think the individual shapes need more refinement to achieve that lumpy, botanical look. In other words, your math is showing.
