  1. I just googled a few Yukikaze pics, and yeah, they've got creepy faces, especially the eyes. Strangely, I never noticed this the first time around.
  2. Finally set up my Tamiya Spray Works basic compressor and airbrush. I tested it out with diluted food coloring just now, and the airbrush keeps spraying air even when I'm not pressing the trigger. I inserted the needle as deep as it would go without forcing it, and it decreased the airflow, but there's still a little air shooting from it. Or maybe I should use a little more force and insert the needle a little deeper? Is this normal for airbrushes? I thought only double-action airbrushes sprayed air when the trigger isn't pulled? The one included with my compressor set is a single-action one. I'd appreciate any advice.
  3. Awesome build! Love the panel lining. Was tempted to buy one of these for a weekend build, until I remembered the three Border Break kits gathering dust on my shelf.
  4. I thought the relaunch was just that; a relaunch. What are the differences? If there were any, I certainly didn't notice them. Wait, did you mean the actual movie prop, or the HT 1/6 replica?
  5. You're a lucky man, Kicker. Wives like that are not easy to come by. Where did you buy the book, anyway? And yeah, I was wondering where that Batman figure went. BTW, after installing the glass panels, how will you be able to access the tumbler and the batpod? From the top?
  6. I just help thinking of the designs in Deux Ex - Human Revolution whenever I look at that suit.
  7. I didn't notice any creepiness while I was watching the anime. But now that you mentioned it, it does seem rather...sterile. Does that make any sense?
  8. Is it available at pharmacies? Wait, your wife finally consented to letting you display your stuff in the living room? So how many Gucci handbags did that cost you? BTW, is that a book on dedicated solely to the Nolan batmobile? Where did you buy that? I want one of those.
  9. Thanks for the info, Chronocidal. I wonder why they chopped up the anime version to such a point. How that mess of an anime won an award, I'll never know.
  10. I'm tempted to get the books, but the anime confused me to the point of giving up only after three episodes. All I got out of it is that Earth is attacked by aliens from another dimension, and the portal they came from is called Faery. The aircraft are called JAM, and the Yukikaze is possessed by some creepy computer AI that might have something to do with the aliens. That, and the protag is some emo kid with links to the Yukikaze AI...oh, and the female doctor is hot, in a MILF-ish kind of way. Beyond that, it was just aerial fights and cryptic dialogue. Are the books any better at explaining the plot?
  11. That's a thing of beauty. The "abs" below the nosecone looks a little hollow, though. I wonder what figs/kits he made this from?
  12. LOL, I did wonder for a second there. Compared to some of the more hardcore HT collectors around here, I'm like the kid who's parking his BMX next to a row of Harleys.
  13. Raiden's Japanese VA sounds really different from Quinton Flynn. That deep voice sounds out of place for Raiden...or maybe I'm just used to his English VA? This game is starting to look more and more like Tenchu--not complaining, though. Stealth kills, lightning-fast boss fights.... I like that thousand-arms Buddha thing that cyborg chick's got going on there.
  14. Not really, considering my meager collection. I don't currently own any Iron Man figs, and the ED is still in its prototype stage, meaning I've got at least six to eight months before we even see an announcement for pre-orders. And given HT's frequent delays, I'd probably have about a year or so before having to put down any money for it. ** EDITED FOR GRAMMAR MISTAKES **
  15. Well, now I can safely save my pennies for HT's re-release of the original ED-209. Won't be getting any Ironman figs for the third movie. Really ugly colors.
  16. The Malaysian TRU's are probably just as bad, if not worse. TRU exclusives NEVER make it here, so you either end up buying the Takara version from a hobby store, or none at all.
  17. I can't see myself putting that kind of money on the Hybrid Style. I like its bot mode, but the truck look pretty bad. I think anyone who wants a nice-looking G1 Optimus would either go for the Henkei toy, or MP-1, or save his pennies for the MP-10.
  18. Love those light-up dashboards on those bikes! Personally, I'm a bigger fan of the Kaneda bike. Sports bikes always look better in red.
  19. Is that the Chinese Raptor, or whatever they're calling it? Or the Russian version? I remember the one Mitsubishi's making for Japan looked very different from the F-22.
  20. LOL. Good point. Those dioders are pretty overpriced.
  21. Just caught a glimpse of the new Robocop's pic at ign, taken during filming. Damn, looks like some bad hybrid between Cyborg Raiden and generic armor from a scifi shooter game. Me no likey.
  22. Just out of curiosity, why don't you want to use the DIODER lights?
  23. If you ask me, I say go for acrylic on the sides, unless you've got pet cats or dogs that like to scratch things a lot. I'm not sure how much the acrylic panels will cost, but as far as weight is concerned, you'll probably save a lot from shipping.
  24. Well, that depends on how the pros and cons of either material affect you. Both are basically polar opposites. Glass is more scratch-resistant, but obscenely heavy. Acrylics scratches easier, but is much lighter. If that display actually doubles as a coffee table, I suggest you for glass at least for the top, as it's tougher against scratches and damage. You can always use acrylic for the sides to lessen the weight. As for the tires, I'm probably going to leave the ones on my Tumbler alone for now too. Ain't a fan of shiny tires, myself.
  25. Thanks for the confirmation, Kicker. I think HT messed up big time with their instructions. They actually said that was the wrong way. Dry rot happens to rubber when it dries out and basically degrades and crumbles. It's one of the most common causes of split tires in toys ranging from G1 TF's to M.A.S.K. toys. It takes at least years if not decades to actually affect rubber, and the lifespan of your tires and be easily lengthened by avoiding extreme heat and sunlight. Some rubber lubricant doesn't hurt either, although it might alter the matte finish on the Tumbler's tires, making them somewhat shinier. BTW, as cool as those LED lights are, they're so damn bright I can't even look at them directly, which kind of defeats the purpose of having functional headlights.
