Yup, while Fisher and Ford can be "de-aged" with a little CGI magic and makeup, the problem with Hamill isn't so much his age as much as his girth. There's little one can do for Luke Skygorger over here short of going full CG on him. Either that, or they could make him more of a Yoda-type character; jovial and jolly, but strong with the force and able to kick ass despite his age and weight. Kinda like a Caucasian Sammo Hung in Jedi robes and a light saber.

That's trange. You see, I watched a few youtube posts on how to upgrade your HDD, and the guy ran into some problems with system updates and whatnot, and it took him three posts to resolve the matter. Whatever confidence I had in installing a new drive evaporated as he fiddled helplessly with the controls, wondering what happened. I don't know; maybe I'll give it a try one of these days.- 6876 replies

True, although using Princes of the Universe as the TV series' opening theme didn't quite save it from mediocrity. Honestly, there's just no equaling, let along beating, the original movie or soundtrack. Listening to "Who wants to live forever?" still gives me goosebumps to this very day.

Gosh, how is it that I've been able to make do with just a 40 GB HDD on my PS3 all this while? Must be nice not having to delete old game installs when you play new ones. I wanted to upgrade the HDD, but I was kind of worried I might screw it up and wreck the machine.- 6876 replies

I remember someone one or two pages back suggesting that Hamill be cast as Jabba's cousin. He does bear a striking resemblence in that pic, really.

Frankly, that won't surprise me one bit. In fact, I'd even expect them to cast Jessica Biel as Lisa Hayes, and have Jamie Foxx in drag play Claudia.

And if you seasoned builders have no chance, amateurs like me can perish the thought of taking on such a kit. Anyways, that kit's looking better with every update, WM!

I owe you one for reminding me, MT! Was thinking of going to the Tamiya shop to get the drill bits tomorrow morning. Good thing reminded me to check out the hardware stores first. I can probably get 1-3mm bits for much cheaper there, and maybe even a cheaper rotary tool like you said. Speaking of cheaper alternatives, I think Tamiya kind of over-charges for some of their stuff. Granted, certain items of theirs, like masking tape, brushes, paints and spray booths are much better alternatives than the ones found in hardware stores. But they're selling common items like metal files, screwdrivers and even q-tips (you read that right!) at inflated prices! I bought a full set of diamond files at a fraction of the price it would have cost at Tamiya. I also hear that you can use women's eye shadow for weathering, and it works just as well as Tamiya's weathering kits, only cheaper. The only thing stopping me from switching to those is that I'm too thin-skinned to be asking the salesgirl at the counter for cosmetics.

I'm genuinely curious to see how the new designs for the Valkyries Veritechs will look like. I mean, they will be updating the designs, won't they? **edited for typos.

I haven't played PC games in ages, but I remember there was this strategy game, where you have to be authenticated online before they'll even allow you to play campaign mode, and REMAIN online throughout the session. What was it, Starcraft II or the most recent Command and Conquer? I pray it doesn't turn out that way with console games.

The girl turtle? I'm thinking Bay would be using CGI for the non-human characters, and her only practical use in a movie is as eye candy. I don't see the point in Bay specifically casting her as the voice of a character, when he could have gotten any other VA for the job, and for much cheaper. Using her as a motion capture actor is even more pointless. Like I said, she's no Andy Serkis. In any case, I honestly can't see what untapped potential she has. She was awful in ROTF. Whenever the camera wasn't focused on her, her face would take on a look of utter disinterest, like she'd rather be elsewhere. Which is probably what she was thinking, but that's what being an actor is about; acting and pretending. And yes, Patrick Stewart's voice would be awesome for Unicron.

You can count on Bay casting her as April, though. What else can she be? I mean, she's certainly no Andy Serkis. I can't imagine Bay slapping a Splinter costume on her and making her channel Pat Morita's Mr. Miyagi.

IMO, The Highlander began and ended when Connor lopped off The Kurgan's head. Anything afterwards is just fan-fiction in my eyes. @Peter: You forgot the anime. If memory serves, it's called Highlander: The Search for Vengeance. It's apparently better than any of the live-action sequels and the TV series, although that's not saying much.

My Mega Drive 2 is still runnin' and a-kickin'! Hardly play games with it nowadays, to be honest. But on the ocassion that I do, it's like travelling back through time into the 90's once more, with Streets of Rage 3 and Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

They haven't even shown us pics of the damn console yet. And from what I've read, the details were rather general, just some specs and tech-speak, and some demos for next-gen games. What I can confirm and don't like one bit, is that there won't be any backward compatibility for PS3 games, which I can't say surprises me, since they've stopped this feature since the PS3 itself. All past-gen console games will be available via cloud streaming. Glad I took good care of all my PS consoles, because if you want to play those old favorites on anything other than the console it was made for, you'll have to fork out more cash for it.

Just a bit of trivia that doesn't really answer the question, but apparently the VF-22S is supposed to have integrated FAST pack elements without the need to attach or remove parts, unlike the YF-21 prototype.

What worries me just as much is the possibility that they might phase out physical discs in the future. It's probably inevitable, but I'd rather it not happen anytime soon, at least not within the first three quarters of the PS4's lifespan. Cloud storage and streaming might be the way of the future, but the local broadband services are far from ready for it.- 6876 replies

All this talk of data streaming if depressing me. Call me an old-fashioned geezer if you want, but the day console games become 100% online without an offline campaign mode, I'm retiring from gaming and taking up fly fishing or something. It's not really an option because the broadband here isn't really good enough for that kind of gameplay. The idea of downloading games, while convenient, presents the problem of having no backup if the console gets damaged or stolen. Sure, they might have an authentication feature where you can type in a password and re-download it for free, but it's a hassle, and an accidental deletion in their servers might mean customers lose hundreds of dollars' worth of games if anything happens. I know it's quite a bit of negativity from me so early in the announcements, but online console features have just never appealed to me. Damn, I must be getting old.
