If I am remembering correctly, Yamato announced the VF-17 series first and then Bandai made a reactionary move and released the VF-171. I think the same also holds true with the YF-19 vs YF-29 Isamu. Please correct me if I am wrong though, but that is how I remember it. I buy them all so my memory could be a bit foggy. Bandai was trying to take some sales away from Yamato/Arcadia with the equivalent Mac Frontier updated version of each respective unit.

I always though the Kurisama one was his own version.

That sucks Kurisama, I remember a while back you complained about this issue but I never really understood the problem. Where did you buy that copy from? I got my notice from NY yesterday for the 25A supers also. I paid them off instantly so I don't even have to think about it.

I know a lot of people hate Macross 7, but Dr. Chiba's experiments sheds a bit more light on song energy. Even DYRL demonstrates the power of song energy, but in a different way.

Personally I never equated anything in Zero as "magic". I took it as Sarah Nome having strong enough song energy/genetics to activate the scattered protoculture tech that was all over the islands and sunken beneath the ocean. From the islanders perspective the protoculture influenced the islanders religious views which again makes some viewers think of magic/religion. If you look at ancient Greece, a lot of the tech was seen as magic or even acts of god.

Great news Yeti, this is starting to really take shape. I like the fact that you have decided to expand on the use of these stands. Macross toys can really be considered niche and if these were only for valks your audience is greatly reduced. Great tips Exo and Skull, I love the resourcefulness of the Macrossworld users.

^^QFT! My wallet growls at me like a dog anytime I start thinking about buying anything lol. I have all that stuff on pre order too guys. They said they will only release 1 new mold a year. We got the new YF-19 this year. Next year we get the VF-0D. You know I kinda wondered the same thing. I have bought 3 releases from them that I did not really need but wanted to pump money in to the Arcadia camp. Then I bought 2x YF-19's from them. I don't have any glaring holes in my collection atm, but I would have liked to see them do a nice repaint we never got. I think the anniversary also has a lot to do with this release. If they release all the Mac7 VF-19's in matte I might kick myself though lol.

Jenius was trying to let you know that the VF-0D was actually a Yamato product that moved to Arcadia after Yamato went defunct. That being said Graham had dropped a hint about it a while back before we all knew Yamato was going to sink. Things that appear to be magic are most of the time technology that is misunderstood. Such a frustrating choice for a release.... There are other things that have been unavailable for a lot longer. I think if they thought it out better they could drive more sales. I guess I don't really see the market demanding this release is all.

Are any of the official Yamato videos still up that Mr.K did for them while they were active? I liked how he would slowly show you the complexity and flow for each mechanism. The only downside was the "Laughing" man and that it was pretty slow, but you could always FF or Rewind.

Looks like it is going to come with the craptastic base that the VF-171 came with. I wish Bandai could give us NUNS bases for the NUNS units. Bandai are so random, sometimes you get a non painted SMS base and other times painted. Then they give us the plain one that has no marking and no color, seems they would be able to be more consistent. Whatevs though, I am still going to enjoy this when I get my copies.

Yeah omg, the VF-171 CF's had black Doritos for triangles. They crumbled on many on first try.

I guess I lied. I looked up my pre-orders and actually got 2x of the Prophecy. I may have been thinking 1x in fighter mode and another in battroid. I guess just the fact that I was able to get one in my cart on the first opening on NY made me do it too.

I'm really interested too, I am one of the guys that had the flight pose stands chemically react with my valks paint and still am kinda spooked on those.

Hrmm the neck and the rear of the head look pretty suspect. I planned on getting one and leaving it in fighter mode, but would like to have the option. I also noticed that the Gerwalk looks wrong like others have mentioned. Seems the intakes are not attached and that is pretty suspect too. I will wait and see I guess....

Are the VF-25 ankles really easy to tighten up? My VF-25G has an awfully loose ankle, it came out the box that way. I have not messed with it since release lol.
