  1. did they make an anmie of for this toy??? Honestly, I'm not sure. I know there was a CG tv show based on Starship Troopers that had a version of the power suits in it. I don't know about the design of the power suit. I've always pictured it differently ever since I read the novel. Somehow, more ape like...
  2. There's also another rumour that the expansion pack may only be released in Russia. However, if you're willing to wait untill the fall, Pacific Fighters will be coming out around then. It's made by the same guys who made the IL-2 series of flight sims. However, it's for the Pacific Theater in WW2, so, probably no jets. But Lock-On Modern Air Combat is your best bet, but you'll need a nice system to run it properly.
  3. That's the later P-39s, like the early Q series. The N series of P-39s have 7 guns. 2 .50 cal in the nose, 4 .30 cal (I think, not sure on the cal) in the wings, and a nasty 37 mm cannon in the nose, firing through the propeller hub. But, due to the design of the airplane, it was very prone to flat spins...
  4. At various severity of performance loss. Then again, adding anything to the underneath of a wing always reduces performance somewhat. I play IL-2 Forgotten Battles with the Ace Expansion Pack, and although I have no idea of how accurate the flight models are, the FW-190 is very tricky to fly. It gets even trickier with the underwing options... But man, is it worth it.
  5. I get it all the time from my parents... But, really, I don't care. I love my toys.
  6. Oh and the 12 gun Hurricane Mk 2b. Pity they're 30 cal though... But yah, the FW-190 had an option of carrying 2 double 20 mm pods (4 20 mm pods). Some of those planes can shred things to pieces.
  7. Anti-aliasing is a process that reduces the "jaggies" on a model. When you look at a line that is not horizontal or vertical in a 3d game on a 3d model, there's lots of little horizontal and vertical lines that represent the full line. This is really noticable on low polygon models and in low resolutions.
  8. Before you do anything else to your D: drive (that includes installing anything), go and get some undelete software. You might be able to recover the majority of your data. When you format a drive or delete a file, it's still there. The computer tags the area where the file is written as available, but doesn't actually delete anything until the area is actually used. So, go and buy Norton's tools, install it on your C drive, and tell it to find stuff on the D drive.
  9. No I'm quite sure you're not delusional. If you were, you'd think Roy is talking to you. I have both the Roy and Hikaru Strikes, and they both have the pegs and slight firmness you mention.
  10. Your options when having stuff shipped to you are: 1) SAL: Cheap shipping, but sometimes arrives on your deathbed 2) EMS: Expensive, but fast 3) Ship everything that can ship: If you have multiple items and most of them are available to ship, selecting this will have the stuff that can ship be shipped to you 4) Wait: They'll wait until everything is in stock, and then ship it to you Note: If you have an item that's marked as a future release, and another that's ready to ship, they'll still ship the item that's ready to be shipped.
  11. Your answer can be best replied at ATI's site. The answer will probably be found in their FAQs, and if it isn't, a quick e-mail should solve that problem. But the most likely answer should be: Yes, the 9800 will work properly in a motherboard that's designed to use the Athlon 64. Really, the incompatability isn't between the CPU and GPU, it's the chipset on the motherboard that can cause a whole host of problems. I remember my problems with my TNT2 and the Ali chipset on AMD motherboards... It was so bad, that you almost couldn't play anything...
  12. This one was brought up in a previous thread, and one argument was that this was a one time only usage. Max could have ordered the arming crew to put the gunpod on backwards, so that, when he transformed into battroid mode for the first time, the gunpod would be facing towards the victim. When he transformed his 1A back, the gunpod was probably switched around again.

    Kids and your toys

Don't have any kids, and therefore, no problems! I have small cousins, but they know better than to touch my stuff, not to mention, they don't go in my room when they come over.
  14. Can't see Grand cannon's pictures. But those MGs are way cool. 1/60s ? I love the EX-S, Sazabi. The FAZZ i don't dig too much. I prefered the Gundam Sentinel version. nope. 1/100. I believe MG only comes in scale 1/100. 1/60 is only with PG and HG Ex. I sort of stop buying MGs since I started with the PGs. Simply much more cooler. Actually they also come in 1:35 scale if you got the Patlabor MGs. A 1:100 Ingram would be tiny...

Jet engine operation and lift are two completely different things. Tell me this, how does the space shuttle's rocket engines, which work on the same principle as the jet engine, maneuver the shuttle around? There's no air in space. What's it pushing against? In any case, the VF-0 designs kick. The thrusters are pushing against the shuttle. They're operating on the rapid expansion of gas which is released at the thruster nozzle. If an explosion happened in space, and you attached a steel plate (let's assume the plate has main character immunity), to the bomb (which has it's own oxidizer onboard, otherwise, there wouldn't be much of any explosion), the plate will be thrown outwards from the center of the explosion. Boiling it down, an explosion is a rapid expansion of gas, thus there's something to push the steel plate away from the center of the explosion. Thus, if there's no air for combustion, the jet engine will simply be spewing unburned fuel out the back.
  16. True, but considering that a Jet engine is mainly a propeller that's inside the body of the aircraft, it's not too much of a stretch to see that you could use a jet engine underwater... It's just that jets are optimized for moving air, not water.
  17. There's lots of posts on the subject, and a search will find you the good details, but the long and the short of it is: 1) Open up the leg, so you can remove the hip peg. 2) Using a brass pin, and perhaps a pinvise (a small hand operated drill), drill a hole into the piece that's broken off. Glue the pin in place using either epoxy or superglue (your choice) 3) Make a corresponding hole in the proper place on the VF-11 (where the peg broke), and after test fitting and cutting of the brass pin, glue the broken hip piece back on. If you're using epoxy, it might not be a bad idea to let it ooze out a bit, you can sand the excess off later. 4) After the glue is good and dry (24 hours to be safe), put the whole thing back together again.
  18. Strangely, I'm getting PMed too. Perhaps we're being stalked! Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Lat: 45.3167 Long: -75.6667 Gotta love J-track (at Nasa) for this!
  19. Edit: nevermind... I failed to see the page 2 on this topic... Stupid me...
  20. SOooooooooooo....Are you completley disagreeing with me, or just on the heat shield? Because if it's just the heats shield, I went off of what I saw in the series, I have no clue on the actual science to back it up (well at least not past a basice college physics class) Just on the heat shield. I agree that you need a lot of energy (proportional to the mass of an object), and that currently, the only way you can properly re-enter the atmosphere is the long, and rather dangerous, re-entry process.
  21. Er... Disney doesn't own Ghibli. They just have the distribution rights to the movies. As for the Ghibli films, I've seen most of them, and they're all top notch in my opinion. I don't have the HK boot or original box set, but one of my film studies professor had it, and we watched it. Wasn't too impressed with the video quality however...
  22. Er... I don't get it. What exactly am I looking for in the picture anyways?
  23. Dried acrylic paint can be easily stripped off of the model by dunking the kit in rubbing alcohol or windex and letting it soak for a while. The only downside, is you've better have a toothbrush handy, as you'll need to scrub the paint off. Oh, and I'm assuming you're using Tamiya acrylic paint (as that's the only paint I use at the moment).
  24. Er.... Mach is unitless? Mach 1 equals a specific speed at sea level, which happens to be the speed of sound at sea level. Depending on teperature, the speed of sound at sea level is about 776 miles per hour. This changes as you change altitude, so Mach 1 at 60000 feet is different than Mach 1 at 0 feet. Also, concerning the matter of escape velocity, you simply must have more energy than gravity. Here's one website for that: Escape Velocity The reason why jets can't leave the atmosphere is because they require air (duh!), and currently, you need a rocket to supply enough thrust long enough to leave Earth. To lift a Jet into space requires much less thrust than a space shuttle.
  25. Bondo is one, so is Tamiya. I use Tamiya putty, and it usually covers the gap in one application. I just wish it dried faster. You have to wait a few hours, and then some, when you apply thick coatings to a surface.
