I always felt like it was a LoTR for small children. Later I found out that there was some kind of religious allegory in it, which turned me off even more. It turns out, though, that Tolkien and Lewis were good friends. I think I can avoid seeing it, unless the trailers and reviews are so great that I actually want to. WOAH! Whats the religious stuff!?? Tell us!!! Remember: CROM laughs at your 4-winds. I think the whole "Sons of Adam, Daughters of Eve" thing would be religious enough. And if that wasn't religious enough, there's also the whole Aslan being executed, and rising again... But, I'm looking forward to this movie. The old animated version wasn't bad, but Aslan's voice was extremely well done in the cartoon.

Most likely what A7 did was to apply a gloss or flat clear coat. Lots of modelers do this too, to protect their decals. If he left them bare, then I have no idea how they're going to wear and tear. BUT! I've found that decals treated with microsol or microset tend to be a bit tougher than those just applied to the surface of a model or toy.

Got my shipping notice for Predaking. Ems to Ottawa will cost me... 4700 yen, or about $52-53 Canadian. Ouch. The price for my impatience... But hopefully, it'll be here by Friday. I hope. Please! On the plus side, the toy only cost me 13300 yen... Thank goodness for early bird... Edit: Looking back through my past emails, originally, HLJ told me it would have costed 14250 yen to purchase Predaking on early bird. Price drop! Bonus! Also, the Predaking page on HLJ reminds me of the Robot polls from Futurama. "Predaking now for sale. Predaking now sold out." Heck, not even a search can FIND Predaking on HLJ's website. It's as if I'm getting a phantom product...

A nice thing happened this morning after a long and very exhausting night at work: Predaking is getting ready to ship at HLJ! I'm happy! Even if my wallet isn't...

While it saddens me that HLJ might not have Predaking by the end of December, it's probably a good thing, as it'll put it on my next credit card bill... But I'm still crossing my fingers for a December 15th release on HLJ.com. It's when the MPC Optimus Prime came out last year.

Yah, that's one of the two major problems with IL-2. The AI can see you through clouds. But they can't see you when you come up from underneath. I've done it a few times. They only break when you start shooting on them. The other major "problem" with IL-2 is the fact that the AI uses simplified flight models, thus, rendering the major tactics that you could use in a Corsair vs a Zero useless (for example). But all in all, it's a fine flight sim, and a heck of a lot of fun to fly. You even get to fly the Me-163 the rocket plane!

Best combat flight sim: IL-2 Forgotten Battles + Ace Expansion Pack + Pacific Fighters (Installed as an expansion pack, but can be installed as a standalone.) You get a huge selection of WW2 fighters, Russian, German, Italian, British, American and Japanese. Not only that, the patches are free, and they often add new planes to the mix for FREE! Jet sim... Hmm... Not as big a fan, but Lock-On should do nicely.

An Ultra Magnus repaint. Well, I was expecting one sooner or later. It does look kinda nice to me. However, December is Predaking month! But what's killing me is WHEN in December is Predaking going to be released. I'm crossing my fingers for next week.

I thought the whole purpose of the X-plane program was to prove wether or not something could work. Heck, swing wing was proven with the X-planes, and the data was later used to help construct swing wing airplanes.

I'm keeping my eye out for it. I'm a huge sim fan, but I prefer WW2 sims. But I'm more than willing to give it a shot.

Armour? I was always under the assumption that the extra covering over the rest of the craft was cosmetic panels. But a fully covered up Y-wing would look great!

That sounds very much like the B-Wing add-on cinematics for Star Wars: X-Wing (percursor to TIE Fighter).

I tried my X45 with Ace Combat 4, and either I screwed up (controller was in port one), or the PS2 won't recognize the controller. I haven't tried it with Ace Combat 5 though, but I will. And yes, I LOVE my X45... Well, except the rocker rudder, but it's growing on me.

Technically, if you're using Russian jets, you should be in meters of altitude and kilometers per hour. But that's only if you want to be nitpicky. Anyways, more AC5 for me!

Got my copy today at Wal-Mart and I must say I'm impressed. Wingmen aren't too bad, at least to me. Graphics are awesome. Planes are awesome! But I really want some of the more advanced planes... NOW!

Watched the raw version. Video: Very good considering the size of the file Sound: Very good (FYI I'm hearing impaired, AKA deaf, so don't take my word on it), and all dialogue was clear and loud. Booms were boomy. Negative: "Ads" running on the top of the screen for the first 5 or so minutes. Very very annoying.

Back on topic: I'm quite interested in the BAE Hawk, I've found some info about it (generally good, some bad), but I'm more interested in the Canadian versions of it, which I think goes under the designation CT-155. Info on Canadian planes can be tricky to find... And FYI, I'm building the Airfix 1:48th Hawk 100 as the Canadian version. Surprisingly good fit, but the cockpit was lacking rudder pedals...

Call me stupid, but what happened? Did he protest the retirement of the F-14? The article is leading me to believe that acted in a manner that's unbecoming for an officer (ie bar-room brawling, assault, rape etc...).

Favorite combiners (that I own), in order of preference. 1) JRX/Rail Racer 2) Runination/Bruticus (RiD version) 3) Devastator 4) Defensor 5) Raiden (I think that's his name)... Sadly, the last three are knockoffs, as I can't afford getting an original from e-bay. Since Predaking's coming out, there's a good chance that the other combinters are going to come out too eventually. But that'll all change when I get my hands on Predaking in December.

I have the Yammie Escaflowne, and for what it is, I really really like it. One of these days, however, I'm going to put a cloth cape on the back, simply because the rubber one blows goats. And I have proof.

It's the same Flightstick 2 Hori released a few months back: Hori Flightstick Although the top of the joystick has a slightly different layout, that pretty much IS a Saitek X45. I might just try it out if I get Ace Combat 5... Or 4 for that matter.
