  1. Maybe someone with good painting skills could turn the KO Super M&M's into 1/60 versions of Bandai's HMR M&M TV/DYRL hybrids!
  2. Thanks...I was thinking in terms of getting a KO PF at $180 vs whatever the Arcadia PF is going for these days...are the KO VF-1S Roy or Hikaru SSP sets selling on ebay PF?
  3. Yamato 1/48 VF-1S Weathered Roy - 46,000 JPY and 45,000 JPY https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g385822948 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b454493350
  4. The 1/60 versions are not any less expensive....this one just sold today... Yamato 1/60 VF-1S DYRL Hikaru-type - Weathered Version - 32,500 JPY https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m405212923 There are several Yamato 1/60 weathered VF-1's on YJA, but they have starting bids that are way higher than what anyone seems to want to pay for them for at least the last month or longer... As for 1/48 weathered VF-1's....The last couple of 1/48 Yamato VF-1S Weathered Roy's went for 46,000 JPY and 45,000 JPY https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g385822948 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b454493350 A 1/48 Weathered Roy-1S is currently listed with a high starting bid of 55,000 JPY....I think it has already been relisted twice https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g384423615
  5. Yamato 1/60 VF-1S DYRL Hikaru-type - Weathered Version - 32,500 JPY https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m405212923
  6. Is the color of the KO SSP the same as the "official" Arcadia releases? Do they match the Yamato SSP releases? I am pretty sure the plastic color used on the TV FP were different from that used on the DYRL....I know at least Yamato was very good at distinguishing such things. BTW...if I wanted to buy one of the KO bundled sets for say a Roy or Hikaru....is there any eBay seller that is recommended?....way to many flake Chinese sellers on eBay these days....not that you wouldn't get your money back, but trying to avoid wasting time...thanks!
  7. Well, it wouldn't have been much of a financial loss to your parents back in 1983....nothing from Ohsato was all that expensive....I think of most of Ohsato's Macross offerings as being a cheap way for parent's to placate a whining kid's demands for one of those expensive Takatoku Macross toys he just saw on the dang TV!

  9. The vast amount of items released by Ohsato during the SDFM era makes it very difficult to know exactly how many different items or lines were created under their Macross/Big West license. It seems at least once a year for the past several years, something that I have never seen before suddenly sees the light...either posted somewhere or sold on auction or retail. To date, there are 10 known varieties of the kind of kites listed in the previously posted catalog. I have only managed to acquire 6 of them to date and I have no hopes of ever finding the other 4 known variants or, let alone, ever knowing how many were actually produced. These are the six different Ohsato Macross kite variants I currently have locked away inside my Ohsato archives.... Other than the sizes, I am not exactly certain if there is any other differences between what they maketed as "Mobile Kites", "Special Mobile Kites", and "American Kites"...which seem to have come in a smaller size. Hopefully, I will someday be able to add more to the Ohsato Macross Kite Collection! Ride the Wind! Bonus! An Orguss kite that was included in a lot I purchased on YJA.....several of the 80's anime got their chance of aerial glory with a kite release from Ohsato!
  10. With Springtime here...what better way to forget about the global pandemic than by flying a kite? And not just any kite...a vintage Macross kite!! Ride the Wind!!! As previously mentioned in some of my other collector's posts...Ohsato (or Osato, depending on what type of collectible you are referring to) was a prolific supplier of arguably the cheapest Macross collectibles of the SDFM era. They made everything from rubber keshi figurines to pool floats and several things in between. Some the best aspects of the Osato Macross offerings are their colorful and highly illustrated packaging...often taking extreme liberties with the characters and the "canon" abilities of the mecha from the show. Ohsato Macross products are by no means the best collectibles that were offered during the SDFM era, but to me they represent exactly who this show was originally geared to....young kids into cool transforming robots!

that would be epic....and maybe even a stop motion animation would come out of it....
  12. The only way to get the matching Yamato 1/48 weathered SSP is to purchase the Macross Chronicle exclusive 1/48 bundled set. I have never seen a listing where the weathered SSP that came bundled with this set was sold/listed separately.
