  1. ... is this anything like when my Mom used to tell me stories of people breaking their old vinyl recordings because someone would leave them on a chair and people would sit on them?
  2. I have one minor gripe about this. The orientation of the information on the card does not match the orientation of the Valks on display. It seems like anybody who is going to need that card, i.e. none of us on Macross World, is going to have to scan around to every item in the case to try to match up what is what. Maybe it's just the pedantic engineer inside me but it seems inefficient.
  3. Trust me, I plan to jump that thing as soon as it's available (provided I'm awake... the 171 didn't go over so well.) Still, I'm hoping it won't come to that.
  4. That's a good point. I still wonder if the G will be as popular just because it's not Alto or Ozma.
  5. Actually, the original pre-orders for the 29 didn't sell out in a minute either. It was only after the movie was released and the second run was put up that there was a mad rush for it. There isn't a guarantee the G will be hard to nab.
  6. They're not making toys of potential real world aircraft here. They're making the toys look as close to their animation counterparts as possible. So they're bright white, like on the show.
  7. The thing is that while they are rare and go for a lot now Alto and Ozma's 25's did not sell out in minutes like the 29 and 171. The 29 and 171 are new/unique whereas Alto's and Ozma's 25's, while higher quality then the V.1's, aren't "new" to most people. The G might sell out faster simply because we all now know they don't make many of these things and anyone who wants one isn't going to wait but I have a hard time believing this is going to be another 2 minute sell out like the 29 or 171 were.
  8. Wow man, this thing is really amazing. You've somehow, in a very short amount of time, managed to top that 1/48 Battlepod.
  9. Really? You think the G will be harder to come by then the 171? Based on the fact we all know Bandai are under-producing so anyone remotely interested is going to put their order in immediately?
  10. As an added benefit trailers for both Spiderman and Batman will be attached to The Avengers. That's a lot of comic book crammed into 2 1/2 hours.
  11. But that someone has to become somebody else important.
  12. If we speculate now people can set a high goal and save. If they wait to find out and it's over their hopeful $150 projection they will most definitely skip it then.
  13. Even if his questions were vitriol I'd be curious about the real answers to them.
  14. Considering the cannons on the version with extra armor are the same as the version without the armor if they do release this stuff (separately, as an overpriced Tamashii exclusive) I'd imagine they would have the armor, guns and all.
  15. Holy crap, I'm just seeing this now. Thank you! SDFM version of the SDF-1 is one of my favorite things ever! More, more!
  16. Looks like some decent refinements going on there. They've got a nice gentle curve of the nose going on now. That should make some of the fans of fighter mode very happy to see.
  17. While I think you're likely right in some respects that Michael and Luca are not nearly as popular there is also the fact that the first two of the V.1 25's released were Alto's and Ozma's and it was widely known the time the third and fourth iterations (Michael and Luca) came out that they were pretty shoddy in quality. Combine a poor first showing with two less popular characters and you're almost guaranteed people who might have been interested in a whole squad made the easy choice to skip the two less popular characters. That being said, I really do hope we see a V.2 Luca and Michael as well as a 171 Luca. I have a weakness for Radomes.
  18. Man, I came pretty close to never owning these things too. I had them on preorder and the month before they were released I got laid off. I almost cancelled the order to save money but my Mom talked me into "treating" myself one last time (with the Elintseeker in this same order too.) It's a bummer other people can't get them, Max especially looks very striking.
  19. Me three. I really like the look of the polarized effect and none of my Valks have the chipping/cracking happening to them. It's a bummer my later Valks don't all look the same. I thought it was a really nice touch.
  20. Yeah, Yamato Valks are almost always released on the last Friday/Saturday of the month.
  21. The shoulder thing is absolutely fixed. Except for one confusing issue with the VT-1 and then the reuse of some older stock 1J HIkaru's with the original GBP sets the shoulders have been rock solid since the middle of 2010.
  22. Those side covers shouldn't function any different from the one's that came with the GBP considering they look exactly the same. The old covers never did anything with the shoulder, I don't expect these to do it now.
