Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
electric indigo replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I loved Miller's Sin City Comics, especially "A Dame to kill for", but as a movie I think it looks pretty trashy. Eva Green is The Dame, though.- 65 replies

I liked the original series, but I was about 12 when I watched it. Moore's Galactica is on another level. Transcendence looks good from the trailer, but we'll see if it's actually a good movie.

Mo-Suu-Pii-Dah Inbitoh in 1/48--Part Deux!

It looks fantastic. Congratulations on nailing down the shapes from all those floppy line arts. Now I hope somebody builds one in the near future. -
I don't know if this is a good thing or not.

Next Koto ZOE kit is Dolores. Not my favorite design, and I expected Nephtis to come first. I wonder if they'll include Idolo in the lineup, too.

Wouldn't it be far cheaper to go the laser cut route with this design? The base would have to be simplified and loose the beveled edges, of course, but you could still engrave the kite.

Edge of Tomorrow, on DVD/Blu-ray Oct. 7, 2014
electric indigo replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think a key point of the movie is that it's more related to our current reality instead of an ultra hight-tech SF universe. The suits from the Manga are too cool to fit in there. And the general audience will perceive an closed armor suit as a robot rather than a human fighter.- 180 replies

Looks great. Do you think your decals still work? I started making vector art of them and can dig them out if you want to print them for yourself.

Somebody had the brilliant idea to combine YF-23 and F-14. -
The visuals are great, but I have to say that Mila Kunis does absolutely nothing for me (and the other characters aren't promising much, either). Can't they add charisma in post-production today?

I just finished the HGUC Victory 1. A great little kit. I modded the elbow joints for a simpler look and replaced the kit's hands with Bandai Builders Parts size S hands. Decals are from the Unicorn set. Size reference:

Mo-Suu-Pii-Dah Inbitoh in 1/48--Part Deux!
electric indigo replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's just what I was thinking. From my experience, it's faster (and less expensive) to try out different dimensions and shapes with cheap foam than HD urethane. Once you have the basic proportions nailed down, you transfer them to the Renshape. In my university days, I used extruded polystyrene foam (XPS or EPS) from DIY shops. -

I know you know what you're doing, but wouldn't it be quicker to build a rough foam mockup of the more complicated parts to get a grip on the design? -
