Battlestar Galactica Discussion
Mr March replied to HoveringCheesecake's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The whole 3 episode arc starting with Pegasus and ending with Resurrection Ship Part Two was just powerhouse drama and non-stop action. It was science fiction television at it's zenith. The episode before that triple episode story was just brilliant too. After months and months of nothing but colonial retreats and withdrawals it was great to see them obliterating hundreds of helpless Cylon raiders. And then, the big guns come out in the 3-episode arc and two Battlestars make short work of an entire Cylon fleet! What an amazing payoff for the audience. I felt this huge surge of contentment watching that battle. I'm sorry to hear BSG 2004 was cancelled in Australia. That sucks. But maybe I can help you. Check your PMs. -

I'm almost through Season 2. Just finished watching Season 2 Episode 15 titled "Scar." Wow! These last half dozen episodes have been so damn good one might almost call this show my new religion The juxtaposition of the battles with all the powerful drama is incredible. I've never seen a science fiction show with character development so closely integrated into the story. Each character is so messed up and wonderfully three-dimensional it's a character fan's dream. And these special effects are just so damn fun to watch, I've been waiting for years to see great space battles like this that have me hooked as a sci-fi geek and invested as a fan of compelling stories. I also have to say it was seriously cool to see Michelle Forbes on the show as Admiral Cain. As if this show didn't have enough great characters, she was fantastic as the Admiral of the Pegasus. I really liked what they did with her character arch. Any other lesser television show would have played Cain up as a straight bad gal villain, but not BSG. Just when you think you've got her pegged, she turns out human after all and let's Adama go. Brilliant writing choice. It made Six's revenge so much more fulfilling and tragic at the same time. Well, only five more episodes and I'm onto Season 3. Yahoo! -

Well, I think people mostly use my three Star Wars drawings because nothing better or comparable has been released officially. Part of the reason I created a drawing of the Super Star Destroyer is because all the official drawings were terribly wrong in scale, proportion and design. I'm not saying my Super Star Destroyer is perfect (I know there are several flaws), but it is far more accurate than anything else I've seen. My old website has been offline for about 7 years now, but the SSD, ISD and Trade Federation ship drawings of mine keep floating around the net -
WHOA! Just one fracking second. I fully understand the place of fan speculation starting from "Point A" (the beginning of Macross II) and going forward. And I don't really care about the rest of this discussion debating the virtues of one fan theory over another. However, no fan speculation is allowed to retcon Macross II canon going backward. Space War I happened, Minmay existed, the SDF-1 Macross exists and all the other events of SDFM/DYRL happened in the history of the Macross II universe. They utilize these facts as history in the anime. Therefore, the Protoculture as it existed at the time of SDFM/DYRL canon (pre-1992) also existed in Macross II canon, the Stellar Republic as it existed at the time of SDFM/DYRL canon (pre-1992) also existed in Macross II canon and the Supervision Army as it existed at the time of SDFM/DYRL canon (pre-1992) still exists in Macross II canon. Whether the Macross II creators dealt with these subjects or not makes no difference in the slightest. Macross Plus did not deal with such subjects, but they are part of Macross Plus canon and fans don't have any say in the matter. Fans don't get to pick and choose what elements of the established Macross canon (prior to 1992) will be accepted as part of Macross II. It's all or nothing. That is not up for debate, I don't care what fan speculation/theories/guessing comes AFTER that.

I'd save your paints if I were you. Looking at the other pictures online, I think it's just the specific lighting on the HLJ pictures that give the joints some sort of diminishing look (not to mention the angles they are using. The dark joints look even more noticeable in some shots, IMO.

Given the long and varied list of truly bizarre sexual entertainment which people view, hentai doesn't seem odd in the least. In fact, I'd probably have an easier time accepting a girl who liked hentai over most anything else.

Btw, do pictures of the Cylon CG model exist? -
The Macropedia is not complete. There are still entries to do and I hope to include most of the major topics, including a little blurb entry for the Zolans.

A very long time ago I made my first website about Starship Sizes and created drawings of all the ships. Most of them are small and inferior to the material available now (especially all the modern shows that just use side profiles of the actual CG model), but a few of them have never been surpassed, apparently. In this particular chart, the Super Star Destroyer and the Trade Federation Battleship are my drawings. A lot of other charts also use my Imperial/Imperator Star Destroyer drawing. -

It is so surreal to see my Star Wars drawings show up in virtually every starship comparison chart on the internet. In particular, it seems my Super Star Destroyer is the defacto side profile for the craft. They sure have made the rounds Thanks for posting these BSG pictures! This stuff is fantastic! -
We got ourselves another addict. Welcome to the downward spiral

That's cool. Yeah, there's no doubt the toys are really attractive. Once you get a 1/48 scale Yamato, you're gonna flip at how awesome it is.
-
This is AWESOME! Every bit as good as your word ikhii. I love what you've done. Bravo!
-
Welcome to Macross World misterryno! You'll adore the 1/48 VF-1A from Yamato. It is THE ultimate VF-1 toy, both in function and quality. You'll have no problem posing it. I wish I could help you out, but I sold the only 1/48 I was willing to let go over a year ago (a VF-1A). I now own a VF-1S and a VF-1J both in 1/48 scale and they are fantastic! Btw, I'm curious what got you into Macross? The toys? The anime?

It changes from time to time, but looks something like this: 1) Cowboy Bebop 2) Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket 3) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind 4) Ghost in the Shell, GITS 2, GITS: SAC 5) Akira

Well, it's just not possible to watch everything. That's the tragedy of it all. I try to keep up with film, and to a lesser extent television on DVD, but some things are missed. Sadly, a remake of a sci-fi show I really hated was low on the list of priorities But at least I finally did get around to giving the mini-series a shot last year and now I'm determined to go through all the seasons in the next month or two. I prefer to watch series this way, since I don't watch television. Besides, would you prefer I watch more television or post more updates to the M3? -

Well eugimon and Zinjo, I took both your advice recently and I'm almost through the first season of Battlestar Galatica (RDM, 2004). Though it didn't take much convincing since watching the mini-series last year. The show is very good and carries on the legacy of the mini-series quite well. Being a Firefly fan, I absolutely adore the special effects in this series. Zoic has produced a very similar style of fictional cinematography that made the Firefly series unique and fresh. Lots of zooms, fast pans/tilts, unique angles, full three dimension representation and style to burn. The characters in BSG (2004) are first rate with plenty of really intense drama and some great character conflict. The characters played by Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell are nothing short of brilliant casting and I'm really impressed with their underplayed performances in this series. I'm also intrigued by the Cylons and Gaius Baltar. Baltar in particular is a real surprise for me. I'm a fella that absolutely hates the original BSG and the terribly cliched character of Baltar in that show. But like all things in this fascinating re-imagining, it's far better than I could have hoped. The Gaius Baltar character is so totally messed up, unexpectedly hilarious and utterly interesting to watch! I can be so disgusted by this pathetic character and yet so invested in what happens to him in each ridiculous situation in which he finds himself. The episode where Number Six appears as Shelly Godfrey was a really entertaining mind frag Well, only episodes 12 and 13 to go and I'm done with Season One and it's on to Season Two. Of all the shows I've followed off broadcast in the last few years ("24", "Lost", et cetera), the BSG 2004 series has by far been the most surprising show of them all. And for once, it appears this series will reward me with a proper ending and realize it's incredible potential. -
It isn't really a "tank", it's just the name

The VF-1S Roy hasn't been released yet, so HLJ definitely can't ship any order with a VF-1S purchase (unless they do a partial shipment and send just the VF-1J). I beleive they have the release date of the VF-1S Roy set as October. But if one orders items that are in stock, that's a different story
-
Damn HLJ. Still waiting for mine to ship. It's so frustrating when you know get the notice that all items in you ordered are confirmed in stock and they are processing your order for shipping. Then a week goes by. Ugh!

Image request: Macross 7 civilian destroids.
Mr March replied to Roger's topic in Movies and TV Series
No, your memory is good. These Destroids and Valkyries are official variants seen in the Macross 7 anime. Episode 15 to be exact. Sadly I don't have any other reference than that.
