  1. Try pulling the joint out completely and plug it back in the other way. My VF-1J came perfect with no problems, but I discovered this trick while experimenting. When reassembling after my experiments, my right arm joint had the gap as well, but I removed the joint, flipped it and plugged it back in. Both sides became flush again. If anyone wants to know what I was experimenting with, the arm joint plugs are the same fit as the special "closed gun pod" adapter; I removed the forearm of my VF-1J and replaced it with forward half of the gun pod. "Gun Arm Valkyrie"
  2. I'm looking for a high resolution scan of both the Battroid and Fighter mode of the VA-14 (really high, so I can make a custom color picture and size it down to the sizes featured on my website). NOTE: this is not the VF-14 seen in the Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works book that was redrawn for the Macross M3 game. This is the VA-14 that I need, the same pictures seen here (only needed in much higher resolution): http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/macross7/va-14.htm
  3. I am sure Transformers 2 will be every bit as good as Alien vs. Predator 2 and Terminator 4.
  4. I'd like to get a VF-1S Strike (maybe two so I could do the dual double-barrel beam cannon thing). But I want to see what else they come out with first. I really like my VF-1J and I'd love to have more, but I really don't need all four VF-1 variants. I'd like to see some VF-11/YF-19/YF-21 toys for a change and some VF-0/SV-51 stuff would be nice too. And as others have already stated, this type of toy line is screaming out for Queadluun-Raus and Regulds
  5. I hope they come out with more Revoltechs for Macross. I really want to see if other Valkyries will be produced before I buy more. Besides, I like to buy these things in batches of three
  6. Revoltech's rock. They are some of the best toys I've ever seen. I got my VF-1J Valkyire, Evangelion Unit-00 (Blue) and Patlabor Unit 2 in two weeks ago. I haven't been able to stop posing them since I got them. They are fantastic!
  7. I'm really hoping a good version of these ships are done sometime. Probably have to wait until a japanese comapny picks up the rights to get a worthwhile toy (like the Aliens Aoshima Drop Ship).
  8. Hmmm, I must have got the two confused. I meant to put Gamlin ahead of Gavil. I'll edit. If we consider Roy's final flight being shot down, then technically Max was also shot down (DYRL). I'm not really concerned all that much with being shot down as I am concerned with survival, kills and displayed ability in the series. It's clear Hikaru had an incredible amount of latent talent early in the series (facing off with Kamjin even as a newb, his skills on Mars) and grew into an absolutely first rate pilot in the latter third of SDF Macross where he was regularly owning dozens of enemies simultaneously. Isamu and Guld are definitely aces. Macross Plus clearly told us this in the very little amount of time the series had to tell it's story. They both pulled top assignments, even the screw up Isamu, and had extensive combat records. The YF-19 went through no less than 7 test pilots that couldn't handle it and Isamu outstripped them all. Both Isamu and Guld are also highly cunning and improvisational pilots, each devising a different way to defeat the planetary defense grid on Earth. And though it cost him his life, Guld did defeat the X-9 Ghost, the most lethal enemy mecha any pilot in Macross has ever faced, IMO.
  9. From briscojr84's exhaustive website:
  10. I can't speak for others, but I don't think I'm underrating Roy Focker at all. It's been made clear by Kawamori from day one that Max is in a league of his own. He's the genius, the supernatural prodigy that not even the Zentradi's most skilled ace pilot can defeat. Roy Focker is a very accomplished ace pilot as well, but he's far more realistic in terms of skill than Max. Roy is extremely talented and highly experienced, but he's no legendary Einstein. As for Focker's death, I don't see any issue. It took no less than three Q-Raus attacking him simultaneously just to get a hit of Focker. Focker survived then flew his damaged VF-1S back for a safe landing. He accepted that it was his time and died like a man. We'd all be lucky to have such a meaningful life and worthwhile death, IMO. As far as Max versus Roy, Roy would likely put up as much as fight as Milia, but couldn't win. Roy does have the advatage of much greater experience than Max, but that wasn't enough of an advantage for Milia either.
  11. Best: Max Milia Roy Isamu Guld Hikaru, Basara, DD Ivanov, Nora Polyansky, Gamlin, Gavil, Shin Kudo, Kinryu, Docker, Kamjin and Gigile in that order. Worst is probably a tie between Kakizaki and Physica
  12. It's possible a VF-4G could have been part of Space War I. Technically it didn't enter mass production until 2012, under two years after the end of the war. But I suppose it's possible a fully working prototype could have existed and even been deployed in some manner. We know that other variable fighters have produced combat ready prototypes one or two years before mass production begins. The YF-19 is one such example. We also know the prototype VF-11 was used in a military operation before mass production. I think it's completely unrealistic to assume the VF-0 wasn't involved in some manner during Space War I, especially given how close the deployment date for the series was to the beginning of the war. Over thirty VF-0 fighters were built and very few destroyed during the events of Macross Zero. Given the serious threat presented by the Zentradi, there is no doubt the UNG would field everything they could against them. Once the thermonuclear reaction engines were finally ready I can't see why the VF-0s wouldn't be refit for all-environ operation and deployed in the war. This line of thinking also extends to the Cheyenne, IMO.
  13. Ooops. Guess I'll have to retract my criticism of AnimeFriend, on this one issue only
  14. Wow. I can't believe I remembered all that correctly. It was such a mess for so long, it's a miracle any truth is still kicking around my head. That's a real shame about the need to spend all that money. I suppose HG was counting on the fact that no one would bother the spend that kind of money to challenge their claim. Oh, the tactics they use these days
  15. From the writing team that brought you the modern marvel Catwoman comes the mediocre mega-media blitzed movie event of 2009 that is sure to be forgotten mere months after release...Terminator 4! Do I even have to say this sounds awful? I'm hoping that should be understood at this point Terminator 3 was saved from critical/fan vivisection by it's stubborn determination to remain just a nose above mediocre. Despite what that may do for some, it does nothing for me and I expect this fourth installment to continue the weakness of Terminator 3. I haven't any hope for Sarah Connor Chronicles either and this synergy-like notice of a new film just before the TV show starts in early 2008 has alarm bells ringing, Willie
  16. Guess it depends on how ya look at it. Were it not for insano fans like us buying the massive $250 set, no one else would have the remastered SDFM originals to purchase from ADV. Besides, just look at it this way; it was like buying a game console at launch
  17. Thin ice. Very thin ice I'd say the only reason it might feel that way to some is the obvious differences in popularity, profile and the hype machine between Macross and Wars/Trek.
  18. ChrisG's site to the rescue: Original Ballster...
  19. Oops! Sorry azrael I guess I missed your post. Thank you for the clarification Sumdumgai (love your name). Bad Zinjoy, hehehe
  20. Agreed. The only thing I can be sure of is the grey in my first picture is wrong. I'm going to keep the changes I've made so far and adjust the grey to a half way mark between the light and dark. After that, I'll call it complete. ***EDIT*** Okay, here is the final picture: And... Here's what it looks like using the eyedropper tool to grab the colors from the photograph provided:
  21. I've just read through the liner notes for Episode 10 and there is nothing mentioned. I read the note for the episode before and after, but nothing is mentioned either. I suppose I could go through all the liner notes, but I'll leave that for another day
  22. Ah, I got it almost 100% correct. I had to answer this question on a few other boards and I knew there were some members here who had first hand experience with the HG C&D letters. I thought I heard that one small business owner challenged HG's C&D letter by requesting they prove their copyright with a public disclosure of their supposed liscensing agreement. HG apparently refused and when that failed, the whole C&D thing stopped. Is that just rumor or can anyone confirm this?
  23. What is the VF-19K? This is the first I've ever heard of this variant?
  24. Hehehe. Just wait until you see the other VA-3 variants; they're even worse. But seriously, each Valkyrie has it's good points, even the ones that OVERALL don't look all that great. The VA-3 looks kinda silly in Battroid mode but the transformation really is a lot of fun to marvel at, as is the case with most of Kawamori's amazing designs. The Attacker mode of the VA-3 is also very cool IMO and really looks like a Strike/Attack craft. There's a picture of the VA-3 Attacker mode in the Macross Plus TIAS book that's loaded with bombs and it looks so cool
  25. The VF-19F is the one I posted on the previous page: My post on previous page, with colored line art Technically the VF-19 is the mass production model of the YF-19. That means the VF-19A is a mass produced version as well. There's very little information, but I suspect the VF-19A was mass produced in the first four years of production, then the VF-19F, VF-19P and VF-19S came along some time later. So there's probably lots of VF-19As.
