  1. Barbera Bain is still alive.
  2. When the movie gets a budget and a production slot I'll be interested, till then it is vapormovie.
  3. The only really important thing about Sansa is that Little Finger is pulling her strings, has been since the very first episode of the show. Since Sansa already knows this the question is how that will play out in the end.
  4. And Commander Koenig from Space: 1999, a show that was hit and miss but when it hit it was out of the park.
  5. I don't like his character at all, just annoys me to no end - and not in a good way. This also reminds me, what was the time skip between this episode on the last one? The Iron Islands have a thousand new ships, Cersei and Jaime seem to have just walked from one room to another, and other things seem to be going at different speeds - perhaps the planet is near a black hole? Finally - the bit with Sam was great, had me laughing out loud.
  6. Really looking forward to this but as someone else mentioned, Monsters University...
  7. A solid opening, lots of characters going in different directions now. It looks like Cersei is making yet another major blunder too.
  8. The Missy character had all the markings of a trial balloon, "Let's see how it goes making the Master female before trying it with the Doctor, to see how it goes and get more people acclimated to the idea". Worst Doctor Ever? I don't know, her incarnation may be the best ever, and I've seen Sylvester McCoy's and Colin Baker's and they would be hard to top for the worst spot - nothing against them as actors but the writing for their runs was atrocious.
  9. Well they finally went and did it. I'm not a fan of the idea at all, too much like checking off the boxes of inclusion for me. A Romana show would have been most welcome however, or even the good Doctor being lost for an entire run with Romana being the star for however long the lead wanted to do it (while still calling it Doctor Who) would have been better.
  10. Just saw Blame on Netflix. The 3d animation is the best I have seen in matching the hand drawn anime style, not nearly so washed out looking as Knights of Sidonia or Ajinn. The Dub cast is mostly excellent and the technical side of it is very very well done. The story and characterization needs massive work however, as someone I know use to say "There was no there, there" You would think that with a title like Blame there would be someone guilty of something, or at least blamed for something - maybe that was left on the cutting room floor since a couple characters could fill the bill with a bit more background filled in.
  11. Is it just me or does the Lisa at the top right have a beard and mustache?

  13. If only I had $200 to spend on it. Akira is one of the few Mangas I liked to read, just not a comics guy in general, books are fine, anime is fine, nonmoving pictures generally doesn't work for me - but Akira did for some reason. Anyone know why the dialog is so different on pages 21/15 (bottom panel of second page up there) when the rest of them are pretty much the same? It is like one of the translations was just making that panel up.
  14. They have been limiting their animation dollars to their return for decades. They must think this one is not going to bring in much money.
  15. I don't follow any artists on the two sites listed but I follow this guys blog. http://yuba.dyndns.org/m/nicky.html
  16. Is it just me or does this trailer for a kid friendly show end with a trailer for a blood spattered trailer for Game of Thrones for everyone? Great scene from GoT but the two should not be run together...
  17. I've not seen that yet so I'll wait to pass judgement but the reviews were not kind.
  18. Well, they can always do the Game of Thrones thing. perhaps making a show will get the rest of the comics finished...
  19. I thought of him more as someone who went a little crazy from some past trauma. Likes parts of him were just missing. Best episode of this season by far. Last week's was pretty good as well, looking forward to the season finale tomorrow.
  20. I might, MIGHT, watch it on home video.
  21. Great guy, not such a great director. Star Trek Insurrection and First Contact both suffered from directorial issues. But to reiterate - great guy, you gotta give him real credit for walking around in Pajamas during one of Shatner's Trek "Documentaries"
  22. In this particular case they had every right to strike.
  23. I've been rewatching the entire series before the new season starts and noticing a bunch of little bits that I forgot before. I completely forgot who had killed Joffrey and John Arin for example. Just as important I just watched the Wildling attack on Castle Black and the entire episode is incredible. Sam gets some real fleshing out in this episode, scared to death but he keeps his vow to fight - that is real courage. At the same time he is justifying his love for Ghilly.
  24. I've no idea if this is directly related but a legal streaming site supposedly has this available (a bit at a time). The site is currently down however. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-06-20/hidive-anime-streaming-service-launches-with-legend-of-the-galactic-heroes/.117768
  25. To be fair, ships in orbit very rarely see each other. The real problem is that the only ship that seems to EVER be NEAR Earth when there is a crisis is the Enterprise - even when said crisis takes place on the way to the Klingon border. The Yamato Dock appears to be underwater from the other quick shot we have of the guns firing up out of the water - and it would sorta match the original Yamato 2 series, though I think that was in a dock next to the water.
